Sarah Palin is knee-deep in her Big Bus Across This Beautiful Country Of Ours One Nation Tour, in which she makes pit stops at historic American landmarks to take pictures with people and fart out malapropisms about stuff that government officials shouldn’t mispronounce. She pulled her ride over in Boston, where she visited Cheers Paul Revere’s house. While there, Palin gave a reporter a lesson in… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : VH1’s Today In Music Discovery Date : 03/06/2011 19:15 Number of articles : 4

Adam Lambert Talks Importance Of Rhinestones, Pre-Show ‘Rituals’

‘We get in front of the mirror and kind of play every night,’ Lambert tells MTV News of makeup artist Sutan on Glam Nation Tour. By Jim Cantiello Adam Lambert Photo: MTV News Believe it or not, Adam Lambert does not wake up with rhinestones affixed to his cheekbones. The pop star, currently headlining his in-demand Glam Nation Tour , gets creative with his glittery stage makeup moments before showtime. “We get in front of the mirror and kind of play every night,” Lambert told MTV News backstage at a recent sold-out New York City tour stop. “We just create and it’s fun. So sometimes there’s like rhinestones stuck all over [the] side of my head. Sometimes we give a little Eastern bindi action. Sometimes there [are] no stones whatsoever,” he added. The “we” Lambert was referring to includes makeup guru Sutan, who has long been among Lambert’s circle of friends. But fans may know the flamboyant makeup artist from his stint on “America’s Next Top Model.” “He’s so funny and has such a great energy, and I really like his work,” Lambert gushed. Rhinestones and face glue, however, aren’t the only tools Adam needs to prep for a show. In order to maintain his powerhouse, octave-jumping voice, Lambert has finally zeroed in on a secret weapon: aerobics. “I never used to be one to do any sort of ritual before I performed and just recently, at the start of this tour, I decided to start coming up with a routine. And it’s really helped me,” the singer said. “I exercise; I do like a cardio thing. If I’m in a hotel with a treadmill I either run for 20 minutes or I get on a stationary bike,” Lambert continued. “It makes you feel good, it gets the endorphins going. It also kind of helps warm up the voice. And then I do a [proper] vocal warm-up.” As fun as the face painting is, the “Idol” star knows that ultimately, it’s all about delivering the music. “Those two things — just a little exercise and that vocal warm-up — keep me at my best. With fans “waiting out on the street , people are so dedicated, they deserve the best,” Lambert said. His Glam Nation Tour continues through September , before heading overseas later this fall. Adam Lambert Says Tour Will Only Be As Wild As His Audience

‘If I’m feeling a bunch of people viscerally wanting to grab at me, I’ll let them grab at me,’ singer says. By Jim Cantiello Adam Lambert Photo: MTV News Adam Lambert is never one to censor himself, either onstage or during interviews, so when the unpredictable glam-pop star announced his first headlining tour, some expected he’d deliver a wild and raunchy rock-and-roll show. It turns out Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour , currently playing to packed venues across the United States, is a relatively family-friendly affair. MTV News caught up with the singer backstage at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, where he shrugged off assumptions that his sold-out shows would not be suitable for grandma. “What did you expect, nudity?” he laughed. Although the choreography is no more suggestive than a Pussycat Dolls concert, Adam admitted that some nights are more outrageous than others. “Nothing’s as planned as people think. … I’m kind of fly by the seat of my pants,” Lambert told MTV News. “It’s like a mirror… and whatever the audience is throwing at you, you kind of reflect, and vice versa. If I’m feeling a bunch of people viscerally wanting to grab at me, I’ll let them grab at me, if I can reach them. … If there’s a cute boy in the audience, I met get a little …you know.” Energy from his band also inspires Adam to push boundaries. Explaining Tuesday night’s off-the-cuff face-licking with bassist Tommy Joe Ratliff, Lambert conceded, “I was feeling it. He had extra lip gloss on. It looked pretty. It grabbed my eye.” But no matter how revved up the “Idol” star gets — and no matter how many cute boys are cheering him on from the front row — he’s learned his limits since causing a stir by simulating oral sex onstage at the American Music Awards last year. “That’s for my bedroom.” Do you want Adam Lambert to let loose onstage, or would you rather he concentrated on singing? Adam Lambert Announces Glam Nation Tour Dates

Lambert will hit the road in June with Orianthi and Allison Iraheta for his summer tour. By Jocelyn Vena Adam Lambert Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage The Lambert Army will finally get a chance to check out Adam Lambert live when he kicks off his Glam Nation Tour on June 4 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. For the trek, he’ll be bringing along fellow “American Idol” alum Allison Iraheta and guitarist Orianthi. While most of the announced tour stops in support of his For Your Entertainment album take place in June, more summer dates will be added. The tour winds up on September 18 in St. Petersburg, Florida, with stops all over the country in between. “I hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement,” Lambert said in a press release. “And I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album.” While he already knows what it’s like to share the stage with Iraheta, he’s excited to be bringing Orianthi along for the tour. “I was lucky enough to work with Orianthi on the ‘Sleepwalker’ track on my album,” he said. “She is a killer guitarist and a great vocalist. I’m so excited to be sharing the stage with her. “I am such a fan of Allison’s music and I am so excited for her to perform it live in front of an audience,” Adam added about his pal Iraheta. “We have such a great brother-and-sister energy, having shared the stage both on ‘American Idol’ and on the tour [last] summer. She is pure rock and roll.” So, what should fans expect from the show? Lambert teased that it’s very theatrical in nature and that he wants his costumes to be very “cutting-edge.” “I hope to use some special-effects lighting,” Lambert explained. “The Glam Nation Tour is going to be very theatrical. People won’t be let down in the glam department; it’ll definitely be something to look at as well as listen to.” Here are the dates for Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation summer tour:

‘It’ll definitely be something to look at as well as listen to,’ the ‘American Idol’ alum says of live show. By James Montgomery Adam Lambert Photo: Michael Caulfield/WireImage If you were a fan of Adam Lambert ‘s laser-enhanced performance of “Whataya Want From Me” on last week’s “American Idol,” well, you’re in luck. Because on his upcoming Glam Nation Tour — which, according to his official website now has a handful of actual dates — he’s definitely going to be breaking out the big (laser) guns once again. “I hope to use some special-effects lighting like that, sure,” Lambert told MTV News on the red carpet of the GLAAD Media Awards this past Saturday (April 17). “The Glam Nation Tour is going to be very theatrical. People won’t be let down in the glam department; it’ll definitely be something to look at as well as listen to.” And when the Glam Nation Tour kicks off (the first date is tentatively June 4 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania), Lambert will also have a brand-new single to promote: the strutting and sparkly “If I Had You,” which he’s planning on shooting a video for next month. The song, written by the Swedish hitmaking team of Max Martin and Shellback, is a favorite of Lambert’s, not just because of its top-flight pedigree, but because of the message it contains. “It’s a great song — really fun, upbeat, joyful,” Lambert said. “And the message in the song is really exciting, because basically what it’s saying is no matter what color your skin is, no matter what religion you are, no matter what your sexuality is, no matter what your age is, we can all party together. We can all find common love. And all this other stuff — money, success, fortune, fashion, glam — it’s all great, but it doesn’t mean anything if you’re not connecting. … I love it.” Related Artists Adam Lambert
