WHY is a 9-year-old learning to use an automatic assault weapon in the first place? 9-Year-Old Girl Accidentally Kills Gun Instructor During Lesson Even in a supervised environment, guns probably don’t belong in the hands of children . A 9-year-old recently ended up killing her gun instructor when the kick-back from an Uzi set to automatic mode proved to be overwhelming for her. Via NBCnews : A shooting range instructor in Arizona was accidentally shot and killed by a 9-year-old girl who was learning how to shoot an Uzi, authorities said on Tuesday. Charles Vacca, 39, was teaching the girl how to use the automatic weapon on Monday morning at the Last Stop outdoor shooting range in White Hills, Arizona, when she pulled the trigger and the kickback caused the gun to lurch over her head, investigators said. Vacca was hit by a stray bullet and airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was pronounced dead late Monday. The girl was at the range with her parents at the time, but their names were not released. Sam Scarmardo, the manager for the Last Stop’s shooting range, told NBC News that “the establish practice at most shooting ranges is 8 years old and up with parental supervision.” He said Vacca was a “great guy, with a great sense of humor” and called him “very conscientious and very professional.” Scarmardo said that the range has never had a similar incident in over a decade of being open — “not even a scratch.” “I just ask everybody to pray for Charlie, and pray for the client, she’s going to have a hard time,” said Scarmardo. Ronald Scott, a Phoenix-based firearms safety expert, said most instructors usually have their hands on guns when children are firing high-powered weapons. “You can’t give a 9-year-old an Uzi and expect her to control it,” Scott told the Associated Press. What a sad accident. That poor little girl is going to have to find a way to cope with taking a life. Mojave County Sheriff’s Department

Is this fair or just foul ? Zimbabwe Opens ‘Blacks Only’ Stock Exchange Via Telegraph reports: The plan to grab mining companies, most of which are South African-owned, follows President Robert Mugabe’s landslide re-election last week. Saviour Kasukawere, the ‘indigenisation’ minister, said on Tuesday that the government or black Zimbabweans would take 51 per cent of the shares in all major foreign-owned companies, valued at about £4.8 billion. No compensation will be paid. John Robertson, an independent economist in Harare, said: “There is no logic in that plan. He is in danger of introducing economic apartheid which is absurd.” Mr Robertson added: “I think this is only politicking and there is no substance to this.” Metals and minerals, including platinum and gold, accounted for 71 per cent, or £480 million, of Zimbabwe’s total exports last year. South Africa has a bilateral trade and protection agreement with Zimbabwe. If the regime presses ahead and seizes a controlling stake in South African mining companies, they could use these agreements to secure compensation or the return of assets via international courts. Whether Mr Mugabe’s regime would respect any such rulings is another question. Mr Mugabe seized almost all of Zimbabwe’s white-owned farms, often in defiance of court orders, and without compensation. The government taking over all wealth and means of production? Hey, it worked for the white peoples of the Soviet Union, it should work even better for the black peoples of Zimbabwe! Do you think this is just another form apartheid? Reuters

‘Yeezy called me and we gon’ make it pop,’ Wu-Tang rapper tells XXL magazine about conversation that followed series of weekend tweets. By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber Photo: Robyn Beck/ Getty Images The improbable hip-hop/pop summit that seemed like a 140-character fever dream just a few days ago might actually come together. After Kanye West and Justin Bieber opened a mutual admiration society over the weekend by exchanging tweets about how much they liked each other’s music and would love to collaborate, the third wheel in their hip-pop tricycle, Wu-Tang rapper Raekwon, said on Tuesday that the session is a sure thing. “It’s definitely gonna happen,” the Chef told XXL magazine. “When you got these kinda talents merging together to do something exciting, I think it’s something that’s gonna make the fans check it out. I’m big fans of both of these guys. I think, at the end of the day, shorty is a sensation. And [for him] to acknowledge me it makes me feel good that the young generation is checkin’ me out like that. And at the same time it gives me a position to play a big brother in the game. He wants my assistance or whatever, he can get it. I respect him, I like his style.” It all began on Sunday morning, when Yeezy typed that he had contracted Bieber Fever and was digging the Canadian teen’s music. “Listening to @Justin Bieber ‘Run Away love,’ ” West tweeted. “I love Sunday mornings in the crib.” An hour later, Kanye revealed that he’s got a similar song title on his upcoming album. “But I have listened to ‘Runaway Love’ about 10 times so far,” West wrote. “Ironically I got a song called ‘Runaway’ on my new album too.” Those Tweets caught Bieber’s attention, and the teen shot back, “It’s not a so what moment for me. I’m 16 and a fan. I’m kinda hyped u are listening to my stuff. Thank u. Nice sunday morning.” West then suggested that he and Bieber make it official by having Rae bless the track as well. But what seemed like just idle talk among celeb Twitter-heads has apparently turned into a thing, according to Rae, who said he’s already talked to West about recording a song. “Yeezy called me and we gon’ make it pop,” he said. “At the end of the day we’re all doing our thing in the game and for them to even just have a conversation and just put my name in it, it feels good. It feels good to respect what I do and I respect what they do. And we gon’ make a hit. Justin got his own fanbase and me and Yeezy got our own fanbase and we gon’ make it happen. We gon’ make a good record.” What do you think a Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Raekwon song would sound like? Let us know in the comments below! Lambert will hit the road in June with Orianthi and Allison Iraheta for his summer tour. By Jocelyn Vena Adam Lambert Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage The Lambert Army will finally get a chance to check out Adam Lambert live when he kicks off his Glam Nation Tour on June 4 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. For the trek, he’ll be bringing along fellow “American Idol” alum Allison Iraheta and guitarist Orianthi. While most of the announced tour stops in support of his For Your Entertainment album take place in June, more summer dates will be added. The tour winds up on September 18 in St. Petersburg, Florida, with stops all over the country in between. “I hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement,” Lambert said in a press release. “And I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album.” While he already knows what it’s like to share the stage with Iraheta, he’s excited to be bringing Orianthi along for the tour. “I was lucky enough to work with Orianthi on the ‘Sleepwalker’ track on my album,” he said. “She is a killer guitarist and a great vocalist. I’m so excited to be sharing the stage with her. “I am such a fan of Allison’s music and I am so excited for her to perform it live in front of an audience,” Adam added about his pal Iraheta. “We have such a great brother-and-sister energy, having shared the stage both on ‘American Idol’ and on the tour [last] summer. She is pure rock and roll.” So, what should fans expect from the show? Lambert teased that it’s very theatrical in nature and that he wants his costumes to be very “cutting-edge.” “I hope to use some special-effects lighting,” Lambert explained. “The Glam Nation Tour is going to be very theatrical. People won’t be let down in the glam department; it’ll definitely be something to look at as well as listen to.” Here are the dates for Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation summer tour:
