The disheveled ad was blasted by celebrity hairstylist Vernon François , who shared the photo on Instagram and noted that he sees “situations like this happen time and time again. The discount retail giant revealed that all of the children were photographed the same way and that the idea was to capture them in their natural state after school, which left many to argue that it wasn’t H&M’s fault for the child’s appearance, but the parent’s. “We are aware of the comments regarding one of our models for H&M Kids. We truly believe that all kids should be allowed to be kids. The school-aged kids who model for us come to the photo studio in the afternoon after school and we aim for a natural look which reflects that,” H&M said in a statement to Yahoo . Although the family of the young girl in question has yet to respond, the fact remains that while all of the children in the subsequent ads look tousled, African-Americans have yet to accept and truly embrace 4b and 4c textured hair. Even when you look at our own ads for hair care and promoting the “natural” look, most women chosen have textures that are still very Eurocentric. It’s no secret that women in the natural community have often voiced their disdain over not feeling adequate with their natural textures, due to 3b and 3c being the heavily promoted look-so the question isn’t who’s to blame, it’s are we really being honest about our own feelings regarding textures with tighter coils? As Bustle points out, 4b and 4c hair have long been viewed as the “bad hair grade”, but many had hoped with the explosion of the natural hair movement in the early 2000s that we would rewrite the narrative, but as we can see by our own words during the controversy, we still have a long ways to go. A$AP and the other two defendants are free to leave Sweden while they await a verdict, which is expected to come August 14. Prosecutors requested that Rocky–who’s already spent a month in jail–remain in the country because he was a flight risk, but the judges disagreed. Prosecutors also asked the judges to impose a 6-month jail sentence for the rapper, saying he should be judged harshly because they claim he threw a bottle at the alleged victim–while A$AP admitted to picking up the bottle, he denies using it on the alleged victim. According to TMZ , Rocky got a huge assist on Friday from two eyewitnesses who both said they did NOT see Rocky strike the alleged victim with a bottle, which is the centerpiece of the prosecution’s case. We can practically guarantee this will never be the case ever again, but in this one instance … we couldn’t have said it better than Donald Trump. “A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden,” the president tweeted moments ago. “It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!” Yes, the celebratory puns are flowing like Trump Vineyards Champagne today, as fans all over the world celebrate the release of rapper A$AP Rocky from a Swedish prison. As you’ve likely heard by now, A$AP was arrested on assault charges , and he’s spent the past month in jail awaiting trial. According to TMZ, Rocky appeared in court today and was set free following testimony from two witnesses who say he did not strike the alleged victim with a champagne bottle, as the plaintiff had claimed. Today’s court date was only a preliminary hearing, and Rocky is still scheduled to stand trial on August 14. But considering he was released from jail and granted permission to leave the country, it’s been widely assumed that he’ll be found not guilty in absentia. After all, extraditing him would be a nightmare, given the fact that Rocky has the full support of President Trump. Trump took up A$AP’s cause last month and he has repeatedly called for his release in recent weeks. “Give A$AP Rocky his FREEDOM,” Trump tweeted on July 25. “We do so much for Sweden but it doesn’t seem to work the other way around. Source: Michael Campanella / Getty Swedish prosecutors have it in for A$AP Rocky . Reportedly, they want the Harlem rapper to serve 6-months in jail for his part in a brawl in Stockholm. The “Goldie” rapper insists he was acting self-defense. According to TMZ , the crux of the prosecution’s case is that A$AP Rocky hurled a bottle at the victim. However, witnesses say they never saw the rapper throw a bottle, although he admitted picking it up. Because of the bottle, prosecutors have requested to the judges that A$AP to do at least 6-months in jail. The sentence won’t be handed down for another week or so. Also, once again Donald Trump has tried to intervene , allegedly sending a letter requesting A$AP and his co-d’s be moved to a hotel. The letter is unprecedented, and the court rejected it. We get the feeling time served would have been more than enough if this was Aeson Rock. And you know why. A$AP’s mother, Renee Black (pictured above), has been in attendance during the trial.

New video evidence has also been produced, which shows one of Rocky’s bodyguards brutally choke-slamming Jafari. The Blast reports : The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has a reporter, Adam Westin, inside the courtroom for the second day of the trial who has been providing minute-by-minute updates. According to Westin (and Google Translate), when A$AP took the stand, he explained that he and his friends just wanted to walk around Sweden, get some air, and check out the sites. He said things were going well and they even took electric scooters to help get around. He said people started to approach his security guard but A$AP didn’t pay much attention and the security guard asked them to leave. Next thing A$AP knows, the security guard grabs the alleged victim by the collar and moves him out of the way. A$AP said the situation was a little scary and he said he “assumed that these guys were under the influence of some kind of drug.” Reports have recently surfaced that the 19-year-old Jafari had a record of assault, theft, and drug possession. In his testimony, Jafari claims he encountered Rocky and his team outside a burger joint and asked them if they saw a friend of his.
