New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has signed a new law barring people under 17 from going to Garden State tanning salons without parental approval. All thanks to infamous Tanning Mom Patricia Krentcil. The “Tan Mom Law” goes into effect immediately. For her part, Krentcil says she supports the measure – she denied her five-year-old ever went in a tanning booth, despite her arrest for that incident. Patricia tells TMZ, “I don’t think children ever should tan.” “I believe that it should be something that’s spoken about and now it’s been rectified after I went through a year of mockery for something I never would do and did not do.” “It makes me sick when I go by a tanning place [now].” Tanning Mom , of Nutley, N.J., got that nickname after she was arrested on child endangerment charges for allegedly putting her 5-year-old in a tanning booth. She did earn some measure of vindication, as T-Mom denied the charges from the beginning and a grand jury opted not to indict her . She’s off the hook. She does, however, resemble a raisin. No escaping that.

The Thrilla in Pennsylvania was originally billed as Tanning Mom vs. Octomom , but Nadya Suleman remains suspended by the Celebrity Boxing federation (seriously). Octomom just heard about the New Jersey woman giving her a run for Mother of the Year, Patricia Krentcil, and boy oh boy, is she incredulous! Nadya Suleman admits that while she is always inclined to give parents the benefit of the doubt … the now-infamous Tanning Mom needs help . If not mental help, then some serious parenting classes. From one amazing parent to another … Octomom says she doesn’t feel Patricia Krentcil should lose her kid, even though she was recently arrested for taking her little girl tanning . She does feel, however, that Child Protective Services should step in to give Krentcil some tips on child-rearing. Hard to argue with that. It’s kind of like the pot calling the kettle bronze here. No, Octo hasn’t been arrested at any point, but she’s messing up 13 more kids than Patty. In any case, when a woman who’s been visited by CPS herself, filed for bankruptcy and started an adult film career ( Octomom’s porn video debut is slated for later this year) decides to call you out on your mothering skills … never a good sign.

Forty-five years ago today, a baby boy named Adam Richard Sandler was born to an electrical engineer and a nursery school teacher in Brooklyn. At age 74, Jane Fonda still beams with a dogged courage that has fueled her cinematic, political, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Biographer Patricia Bosworth would know firsthand, having met the two-time Oscar winner during their thespian days with Lee Strasberg in New York City’s Actors Studio. For four decades Bosworth has studied the shapeshifting Fonda, and when it came time in the early 2000s to write her biography, Fonda agreed to interview with the woman who had, by that time, written tomes about Montgomery Clift and Marlon Brando.
