Sheriff Denies Racism In Spring Valley Arrest Because Cop Dates Black Woman The video of a female student at Spring Valley High School being physically accosted by police officer Ben Fields has lit a white hot flame in the social conscious of black folks over the past 24 hours. While many of the reactions have obviously been centered around race, Officer Fields’ superiors don’t seem to think that race played any factor whatsoever in the incident… Via ABCNews A South Carolina sheriff says he doesn’t think that race played a role in his officer’s arrest of a female high school student. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Tuesday that the deputy that made the arrest, Ben Fields, has been dating an African-American woman for “quite some time.” He says that if that had any bearing on the arrest, it would have been in a positive way, not a negative one. “He couldn’t POSSIBLY be a racist! He’s having sex with a black woman!” White people say the stupidest s#!t when it comes time to defend each other against claims of racism.
