Is Moneyball the Next Social Network?

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: A popular non-fiction book — without any real cinematic leanings — gets turned into a buzzed-about feature film with the help of Aaron Sorkin, Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca, and Sony Pictures. Nope, not The Social Network — Moneyball ! ESPN writer Jon Weisman (formerly of Variety) makes the case that the Bennett Miller-directed film could be a sleeper hit next fall along the lines of The Social Network and that other Michael Lewis penned sports-book-turned-movie, The Blind Side . Probably not, but, hey, Brad Pitt is in it! So, maybe? [ ESPN ]
