Mel Gibson is earning high marks for his probation these days … unlike some people Judge Stephanie Sautner, best known as the judge who spars with Lindsay Lohan on a monthly basis, presided over a progress report in the actor’s battery case this week. If he could receive a grade, Gibson would be getting an A+ or 100/100 from Sautner. It seems like forever ago that Oksana Grigorieva leaked the Mel Gibson tapes and accused him of assaulting her in one of the worst celebrity breakups ever. The actor pleaded no contest to battery earlier this year. He was given probation, and unlike certain people Sautner oversees, takes it seriously. She praised the actor for doing an exemplary job in all capacities. Mel has apparently completed twice the amount of counseling requiring of him, and he remains right on track on his 12-step program. Good for him.

Looks like Lindsay Lohan’s teeth aren’t the only thing about her that’s stained … her reputation has been as well, given that this idiot was kicked out of her mandatory community service program for violating the rules numerous times. A judge ordered Lohan to serve 360 hours at L.A.’s Downtown Women’s Center, and to be reliable, professional, and work at least four hours at a time. Sources say Lindsay blew off NINE visits , however, and when she did show up, she would often bail after working there for only an hour. What a moron. As a result, Lohan was terminated from the Women’s Center because of the violations and was assigned instead to a community service program at the Red Cross.

The surprising Jennifer Lopez-Marc Anthony split continues to generate rumors regarding why the seemingly-happy couple is divorcing after seven years. Us ‘ cover story suggests infidelity was a concern – if not an overt reason – for the twosome, parents to 3-year-old twins Emme and Max, parting ways. At issue specifically? Anthony’s fling with a flight attendant. A source says that Anthony hooked up with a flight attendant he met aboard a private plane in 2009, and that for J. Lo, that was almost it right there. “Marc and Jennifer almost split up over it,” the source says. “Jennifer was going to leave him then, but Marc begged her to stay. They went to marriage counseling and she gave it another shot. He was someone she truly loved.” Although Anthony and the American Idol judge weathered that storm of infidelity, his jealousy over Lopez’s sex symbol status and successful career continued to drive a wedge between them – one they ultimately couldn’t bridge. Marc’s controlling behavior over his wife’s wardrobe and business endeavors – and his own unfounded paranoia – ultimately did them in. Very sad.

The first trailer for Paranormal Activity 3 has just been released, and continuing the prequel trend set by the franchise’s sequel, we’re going back in time. Way back in time. The third installment goes back to 1988, when young girls Katie and Kristi first encounter the nasty demon who will follow them in the other films. According to Movie Fanatic, the third film will be helmed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman , who directed and appeared in the movie Catfish . Paranormal Activity 3 opens October 21. Judge Stephanie Sautner made it clear today that she is unimpressed with Lindsay Lohan and her progress, or lack thereof, in completing her probation. The actress was reamed out at a progress hearing and told that she had better complete her community service within a year of sentencing – or else. “I’m not going to give five extra minutes,” she said, adding, “I don’t want to hear, ‘Oh, I couldn’t do it because I was on the set of a John Gotti movie.'” The judge was frustrated that in two months since she somehow avoided jail for stealing a necklace, Lindsay has completed just four days out of 60. Also upset that Lindsay had not enrolled in psychological counseling – as she’s required to do – Sautner is giving her 21 days to sign up, or else! The L.A. County Probation Dept. asked Judge Sautner to violate Lindsay’s probation and remand her into custody for three alleged violations. It’s worth noting that two claims were bogus and the third – LiLo not returning a call from her probation officer – was resolved (she called back). Judge Sautner made it very clear that she will revoke LiLo’s probation if she doesn’t get her a$$ in gear, but told off her probation officer, too. Sautner called the officer’s claims totally inaccurate and judge strongly implied the probation officer was unfairly gunning for Lindsay Lohan . The probation officer’s alleged beef with Lohan was threefold: Lindsay did not pay $3,900 in fees for community service. This was not a violation, however, has she has three years to pay these. Lindsay did not return the call of the probation officer. Again, the probation officer was wrong. Lohan actually left three messages. Lindsay did not prove to the department that she enrolled in her community service program, shoplifting program, and psychological counseling. Again, irrelevant. Lohan had to report these to the judge alone. People connected with LiLo think the probation officer has an axe to grind. It looks like the judge agrees, as she wasn’t moved by the claims. Still, Sautner has her own gripes with the way Lohan has conducted herself, and the possibility of jail still looms if she keeps screwing up. Actor must complete 16 hours of community service and enroll in a 12-month domestic-violence program. Brown/ Getty Images Mel Gibson and his legal team reached a deal with prosecutors Friday (March 11) that will see the actor avoid jail time after being charged with misdemeanor battery earlier in the day. The actor appeared before a Los Angles judge and pleaded no contest to the charges. Under the terms of his agreement, Gibson must complete 16 hours of community service, enroll in a 12-month domestic-violence program and pay an assortment of court fees and fines. Gibson also must obey a strict order to not annoy, harass or threaten anyone with violence while serving out his various punishments. The actor has already begun reporting to a domestic-violence counselor and was ordered to submit a progress report during a status hearing June 9. By that date, the actor is also required to compete his community service, which he’s scheduled to perform at the Mending Kids International facility. Gibson’s deadline to complete his year of counseling is March 30, 2012. The actor has 36 hours to turn himself in for booking. The deal concludes an ugly split between Gibson and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his young daughter. The two dated briefly after Gibson and his wife of 26 years, Robyn, separated. Gibson and Grigorieva were ensnarled in a bitter custody dispute that was compounded by lawsuits the two filed against each other. Gibson accused Grigorieva of extortion and she alleged Gibson physically assaulted her.
