Yara Shahidi Gets ‘Black-Ish’ Spinoff Good news for “Black-ish” fans! ABC has greenlit a spinoff of the top-rated show starring Yara Shahidi and Deon Cole. Yara’s new show, “College-ish” will follow Zoey as she journeys to college and figures out life after leaving home. The show will focus on issues facing students and administration in today’s higher learning settings. The show will appear on FreeForm. Black-ish executive producer Kenya Barris tells Deadspin he couldn’t be happier about the new show: “I never thought they’d let me put Black-ish on the air, let alone give me a spin-off. I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to continue working with Yara and the rest of this talented young cast. To any aspiring writers struggling to make it out there, I highly advise adding an ‘-ish’ to any working title you might have. It seems to be the move.” Splash/WENN

Cindy Stowell: Jeopardy Pays Tribute to Late Champion

Alex Trebek and the folks behind Jeopardy have paid special tribute to a special contestant. As many followers of this world famous game show are aware of by now, Cindy Stowell recently competed on the program, despite a diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Not only did she compete, Stowell won. Over and over and over again. The 41-year-old science content developer (from Austin, Texas) actually won a six games overall, donating her winnings to cancer research efforts. Tragically, however, she died on December 5, prior to her winning efforts being televised for all to see. The story, however, captured a nation; and it prompted Alex Trebek to record a message in honor of Stowell after her final episode aired on Wednesday night. “This past six Jeopardy! programs, you folks have been getting to know the talented champion Cindy Stowell,” Trebek says in the message. “Appearing on the show was a lifelong ambition for that lady – what you did not know is that when we taped these programs with her a few weeks ago, she was suffering from stage 4 cancer, and sadly, on December 5, Cindy Stowell passed away. “So from all of us here at Jeopardy!, our sincere condolences to her family and her friends.” And from all of us at The Hollywood Gossip, we say the same. These days, we have so many entertainment options that It's difficult for a new show to break through, particularly when it features no major stars and airs on a streaming service that's not Netflix. Fortunately, we have some tips:  Focus on solid writing. Trust in the intelligence of the audience. Never ever, ever make a “joke” about child molestation, particularly when said “joke” involves a beloved toddler and a famously horrific real-life crime. Yes, for some reason, the writers of the new Amy Poehler-produced sitcom Difficult People thought they'd search for some laughs in SVU territory. Needless to say, it didn't go well. We can't even bring bring ourselves to quote the creepy-ass dialogue here, but suffice to day, it involves Blue Ivy Carter and the R. Kelly molestation case . Watch if you must, but say we didn't warn you.

Tim McGraw Duets with Crazy Talented Daughter: Watch!

When it comes to Tim McGraw, the talented apple doesn't fall far from the very successful tree. The country music superstar brought his oldest daughter, Gracie, out on stage with him during a concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville this weekend, surprising audiences with a special daddy-daughter duet. A very impressive daddy-daughter duet, we should say, as Gracie showed considerable skill while singing “Here Tonight,” a track off her father’s upcoming album. And if you’re wondering where McGraw’s prettier half was during the show, The Tennessean reports that Faith Hill received a standing ovation after the couple performed their 1997 single “It’s Your Love.” What a talented family, huh?

Malik Yoba Confirms Whether Or Not Jussie Smollett Is Gay The instant success of the hit new drama series “ Empire”  can be much attributed to director Lee Daniels not being afraid to touch on a variety of controversial issues affecting the African-American community today, and one of the show’s most compelling story lines is that of Jussie Smollett’s character Jamal. On the show, Jussie’s character Jamal is a multi-talented musician struggling with how to assert his sexuality to the world amid constant criticism of his lifestyle from his father Lucious Lyon, but recent comments Jussie made when asked about his sexuality in real life during an interview has some fans wondering if his art really does imitate his life. When asked whether or not he’s gay in real life during a recent interview on the Sway in The Morning   radio show, Jussie had this to say in response: “I’m not willing to confirm or deny anything. I live my life. I don’t hide anything, I just don’t choose to talk about my personal life.” Hmmmm. However, while Jussie is seemingly opting to keep it in the closet, his fellow “Empire” cast member Malik Yoba gave a much more straight-forwad answer to the burning question of his talented friend’s real-life sexuality. Kate Hudson still has a cute booty, which is amazing, considering the amount of various things that have passed through it. From a suicidal Owen Wilson, to rockstars, producers and other actors…babies, sex toys, random household objects…possibly drugs she was smuggling to wherever her wild life took her and whatever the fuck else she tried to fill the void of being an actors’ kid, who became an actor of her own….whether talented or deserving or not, I mean not that acting requires talent…and being a cute bratty rich kid with the right connections is enough to carry her into her 40s…and I guess it is… Here she is doing some campaign for a fitness line, that I guess is designed for moms, because who the fuck remembers Kate Hudson under the age of 35…I’m guessing no one.
