T amron Hall is making a comeback to broadcast TV. RELATED:  Tamron Hall Quits NBC News Amid Flurry Of Controversy The former NBC News anchor and “Today” host has inked a lucrative deal with ABC to develop a new syndicated show. She will be bringing Oprah vibes as a daytime talk show host, with her broadcast network program ready to possibly launch as early as next year,  Variety reported. “I’m so thrilled to partner with Disney| ABC  to create a daytime television show that’s unconventional, fun, intimate and sometimes even raw,” Hall said in a prepared statement. “My new partners appreciate and respect the relationship I’ve built with my audience and know that if we create television worth watching, they’ll join us for the ride. I’m so grateful and excited for this next chapter. The landing makes the leap of faith so worth it!” Shout out to @tamronhall for signing a development deal with @ABC for a daytime talk show. Her abrupt departure sparked a whitewashing controversy after her “Today” gig was canceled to make way for a new show with controversial news personality  Megyn Kelly . NBC lost out as Kelly’s show failed to produce solid ratings after its debut. Hall, however, kept moving forward. She announced a deal with Weinstein Television last July prior to the public outpouring of sexual harassment charges against now-former co-CEO Harvey Weinstein . She also signed a new deal with Investigation Discovery in January to continue her crime series, “Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall.” ABC expressed that the move to hire Hall was a good one. “We look forward to developing a daily destination showcasing her spirit, boundless enthusiasm and powerful ability to engage with viewers,” William Burton , senior vice president of ABC Daytime, said in a statement. Cindy Stowell: Jeopardy Pays Tribute to Late Champion

Alex Trebek and the folks behind Jeopardy have paid special tribute to a special contestant. As many followers of this world famous game show are aware of by now, Cindy Stowell recently competed on the program, despite a diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Not only did she compete, Stowell won. Over and over and over again. The 41-year-old science content developer (from Austin, Texas) actually won a six games overall, donating her winnings to cancer research efforts. Tragically, however, she died on December 5, prior to her winning efforts being televised for all to see. The story, however, captured a nation; and it prompted Alex Trebek to record a message in honor of Stowell after her final episode aired on Wednesday night. “This past six Jeopardy! programs, you folks have been getting to know the talented champion Cindy Stowell,” Trebek says in the message. “Appearing on the show was a lifelong ambition for that lady – what you did not know is that when we taped these programs with her a few weeks ago, she was suffering from stage 4 cancer, and sadly, on December 5, Cindy Stowell passed away. “So from all of us here at Jeopardy!, our sincere condolences to her family and her friends.” And from all of us at The Hollywood Gossip, we say the same. Watch Jeopardy salute this late champion below:

Vin Diesel Hits on Journalist, Makes Us Really Uncomfortable

Forget being fast and/or furious. Vin Diesel has made headlines for acting inappropriate and awkward while being interviewed by YouTube star Carol Moreira. In the following video, the action star is talking to Moreira about how Tom Hanks helped him become a star (true fact: they worked on Saving Private Ryan)… until he can no longer help himself. He simply has to speak out. So Diesel goes ahead and interrupts himself to tell Moreira the following: “God, you're so beautiful. God, she's so beautiful.” This may be true. But it's also disrespectful and irrelevant to the interview taking place. Diesel wasn't done, either. He actually turned to people behind the camera and asked: “Am I right or wrong? I mean look at her. How am I supposed to do this interview? Look at this woman. She's so beautiful. Talk to me, baby.” Oh God, Vin. Clearly unsure what to do or how to react, Moreira was able to get the interview back on topic… … until a few minutes later when Diesel returned to hitting on the journalist after she brought up the pair's shared interest in Dungeons and Dragons. “I'm anything like you because I love you,” he said. “Guys, really? Look how beautiful she is. You guys think this is a joke. How am I supposed to sit here when I'm looking at such beauty? She's so beautiful. I'm in love. I'm in love with the interviewer!” Watch the video below – which begins with Moreira explaining how Diesel made her feel very “uncomfortable” – to also see the chauvinist actor practically drool over how “f-cking sexy” Moreira is. Noah Galvin SLAMS Colton Haynes: He Didn’t Really Come Out!

In The Real O’Neals , Noah Galvin plays a gay teenager who has just come out to his family. Now, the actor, who is also out in real life, talks to Vulture about coming out, and he has a few choice words to share about Colton Haynes. Haynes came out last month , which seemed pretty clear although he never actually spoke the words, “I’m gay.” And Galvin thought it was pretty lame. During the interview, the journalist asks if Galvin was familiar with Haynes, to which he replies, “The worst.” He went on to reiterate: “That’s not coming out. That’s f**king p**sy bullsh*t,” Galvin said of his fellow actor. “That’s like, enough people assume that I sleep with men, so I’m just going to slightly confirm the fact that I’ve sucked a d*ck or two,” he added. “That’s not doing anything for the little gays but giving them more masturbation material.” HARSH. Galvin also addresses how he wants to approach his character “Kenny” on The Real O’Neals , and says he doesn’t want him to “just be the Eric Stonestreet,” referring to the actor who plays an effeminate gay character on Modern Family . “No, I think as wonderful of an actor as Eric Stonestreet is — I’ve never met him, I assume he’s a wonderful guy — he’s playing a caricature of a caricature of a stereotype of stereotype on Modern Family ,” said Galvin. “And he’s a straight man in real life,” he noted. “And as hilarious as that character is, there’s a lack of authenticity.” “I want Kenny to be more than the funny gay kid,” he explained.

News Anchor Makes Uranus Joke, Immediately Regrets It

HA! We have another entry to add to our ever-growing collection of hilariously awesome moments in news broadcasts. CKPG TV, a station in Canada, recently aired a report about the growth of fresh food in the International Space Station. It was actually pretty interesting and it delivered some fascinating pieces of information to the viewer. And when the report was finished airing, an anchor followed it up with a Uranus joke… which he seemed to immediately regret. We understand it's hard to resist a good Uranus joke, but perhaps this journalist should have had a better feel for his audience before opening his mouth.

Rob Parker: Suspended By ESPN for Racially Divisive Robert Griffin III Comments

Another day, another racially charged story from the world of sports. Not long after Caroline Wozniacki’s Serena Williams impression drew charges of racism, Rob Parker of ESPN has called out Robert Griffin III. The newspaper columnist, who is African-American, appeared on First Take this morning and said of the Redskins star rookie quarterback: “Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother? He’s not real. Okay, he’s black, he kind of does the thing, but he’s not really down with the cause.” “He’s not one of us. He’s kind of black, but he’s not really, like, the guy you want to hang out with because he’s off to something else.” Parker continued: “We all know he has a white fiancee. There was all this talk about how he’s a Republican … Tiger Woods was like, ‘I’ve got black skin but don’t call me black.'” ESPN didn’t waste any time in punishing Parker for his view, with spokesman Mike Soltys telling FoxNews.com that his network has suspended the journalist and is “conducting a full review.” Former Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy has made his opinion well-known on Twitter, writing: “Rob Parker may have had worst commentary I have ever heard concerning Robert Griffin III.” Do you agree? Should Parker have been suspended for these comments?   Yes, WTH is he talking about?!? No, it’s just his opinion! View Poll »
