The Real Housewives of New York Recap: Was That the Most Embarrassing Episode Ever?

There was a lot of drama on Wednesday’s The Real Housewives of New York City, but all of that was overshadowed by Dorinda Medley, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan making fools of themselves.  The trio attended a charity event for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and it was only a matter of time before they said something they should not have.  Ramona spearheaded the event with the CEO of NY Loves Kids Bridie Farrell. Together, they threw an auction benefitting the organization.  They wanted to raise more awareness to the group to eliminate the statute of limitations for victims to report abuse.  Things got off to a less than stellar start when Ramona could not even say Bridie’s name correctly.  It was super awkward. Sonja then told Bridie to “just exploit us.” Yes, really.  “I do children, you do sexual abuse,” Ramona sneered as she failed to realize how horrible her words sounded.  “We might not be the most eloquent, but we’re passionate,” Singer later added.  At the event, the ladies started bickering over a dinner party being thrown for Ramona’s upcoming birthday.  Ramona said she had no control over the guest list, and that the women planning it would deal with it.  We got a flashback from Ramona telling these other friends not to invite Sonja.  Ramona, Dorinda, and Sonja followed that argument up with a speech. Bridia dragged Ramona for not pronouncing her name correctly, and Sonja kept laughing.  “Everyone knows you can cry on a dime,” Sonja laughed. “Sonja, why are you doing this to me?” asked Ramona. “Her name is Bridie by the way, you called her Birdie,” Sonja fired back. “I’m bad with names,” Ramona said. “When people are sexually abused as a child, you say is it my fault, did I do something wrong, you’re afraid to come forward,” she continued. Dorinda then joined in, shouting at Ramona because she felt she missed something out. “It was a friend of the family! You can finish, but I’m adding something, it was a friend of the family!” “Let’s hear it from the who … horse’s mouth,” Sonja then added, referring to Bridie. “Not the whore’s mouth. I’m sorry.” Birdie appeared to tell her own story, and Dorinda and Ramona couln’t help but chime in.  Dorinda wanted Bridie to say her attacker was still out there, and it made for an awkward scene.  What did you think of the way that played out? Ramona Singer: I’m SO Sorry for Insulting Dennis Shields

On this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City , Bethenny revealed a huge secret about the late Dennis Shields. Her tensions with Ramona were also on display, but fans can’t stop thinking about something Ramona had said. She had majorly insulted Dennis over his drug use. Now, Ramona is apologizing publicly and profusely. “How smart can Dennis be?” viewers heard Ramona ask rhetorically in footage from this season of The Real Housewives of New York City . To make matters worse, she said: “I mean, he was on drugs.” To be absolutely clear, this scene was filmed before Dennis Shields passed away last year. In fact, it was reportedly filmed three weeks before his tragic death. Viewers recoiled when she said that — and, in hindsight, so does Ramona. To say that Ramona regrets her words is an understatement. Taking to her Instagram Stories ahead of Wednesday’s episode,  “I cringed when I saw what I said about Dennis in tonight’s episode,” Ramona’s heartfelt post begins. She freely admits: “It definitely wasn’t one of my finer moments.” “I respected and liked him very much,” Ramona affirms. Sometimes, people make cutting remarks about people whom they respect — especially when they are on camera and are aiming for a reaction. “And,” she adds. “I sincerely apologize to his family and Bethenny for my thoughtless comments.” That is a good apology, neither making it all about her nor understating how cruel the statement was. To be clear, it was an unkind statement even before Shields’ death. Addiction is not a measure of intelligence. In a recent post on Twitter, Bethenny reflected upon the nature of grief. “Mourning is tricky business,” Bethenny acknowledged at the beginning of her tweet. “It’s like the weather,” she observed. Bethenny explains her analogy: “There can be weeks & weeks of sunshine then one day you get whacked with a storm.” She is absolutely right. Certain stories, photographs, songs, and scents can bring all of that grief crashing down yet again. Shortly after Shields’ tragic passing, Bethenny shared her feelings at the time as she was overwhelmed with loss. “It’s hard to breathe & I appreciate you giving me the space & support to try to do so,” she wrote on social media. “It’s excruciating-sudden death is no closure & constant ?s & memories,” she shared. None of us are at our best when we are deep in mourning. “Our relationship is current so it’s painfully raw,” she revealed. Bethenny concluded by saying that she was “Trying to stay healthy & move through it w tears & close friends.” Bethenny is widely beloved, but she can be controversial at times. It goes with the territory when you’re a Real Housewife. But any feuds or petty arguments can and must be set aside when someone is dealing with real, personal pain. The worst reality stars are the ones who don’t know when to quit and back off. Ramona admitted in a recent episode to having “tension” with Bethenny, but she has her limits. We’re sure that she’d give anything to take back that offhand remark from last year.

Luann de Lesseps Ditches Probation For The Beach!

RHONY star Luann de Lesseps had one job.  Which was to complete her probation following her drunken altercation with multiple Florida police officers on December 23, 2017. Luann could have faced jail time and multiple felony charges, but fortunately, she pleaded guilty to her three misdemeanor accounts.  As part of the reasonable deal, she was given one year of probation with a lengthy yet simple list of requirements and restrictions. Ones that Luann seems to have completely ignored.  Here are most of the conditions on the list:  As reported by Starcasm.  1. Pay all applicable fines and court costs  2. Perform 50 hours of community service for any non-profit organization at a minimum of 10 hours per month  3. Attend 2 AA meetings per month  4. No possession/ no consumption of alcohol, or illegal drugs, with random testing at Defendant’s expense 5. A letter of apology to Deputy Steven O’Leary 6. Attend a victim impact class put on by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers Luann has paid all of the fines and court costs and she wrote her letter of apology to the officer before her sentencing.  It’s just the rest of the conditions she is having a hard time remembering. The Florida Department of Corrections filed a progress report last week with the update on Luanna’s rather lazy progress:  The subject was ordered to complete 50 hours of community service at a rate of 10 hours per month. Per the subject’s New York probation officer, she has only completed 25 hours.  The subject was to complete 2 AA meeting per week, per her New York probation officer she has failed to provide documentation that she is following the special condition.  Per New York, the subject is to use a soberlink device to determine the usage of alcohol and the subject has been noncompliant with the condition.  The subject has failed to complete a victim impact panel class as well.  The subject has been allowed unlimited travel and has used that as a reason to be noncompliant with her conditions of supervision.  The subject has been under supervision for a period of six months and has failed to complete or comply with any special condition that has been ordered. Despite all of Luann’s issues of noncompliance , the Florida Department of Corrections ruled that there would be “no further action required.”  Luann is allowed to continue her probation in New York, with just a smack on the wrist.  Meanwhile, the reality star shared a picture of her enjoying the beach in Miami on Tuesday.  The 53-year-old does look amazing, but does she really think strolling through the sun will fix all of her problems?  They do say salt water heals everything. As does a Mai Tai.  View Slideshow: 16 Real Housewives Stars Who Have Been Arrested

The Real Housewives of New York City: See the Season 11 Trailer!

It seems like it was only weeks ago that we watched the The Real Housewives of New York City Season 10 reunion . Now, Bravo has released the trailer for Season 10. The trailer itself, as you can see, is a work of art. We cannot wait for the actual season to begin. The Real Housewives of New York City is returning for Season 11 on March 6. We are nearly at February, the shortest month of the year. March is not far off at all. Season 11 will pick up with elements of Season 10. One of those is Dorinda's “Jovani” heckle. You can bet that Luann didn't forget. Another blast from the past is Tinsley's quest for a husband. But the trailer stars with Bethenny pulling up and calling Sonja Morgan a “hooker,” so you know it's off to a good start. Catcalling is fun if it's from your friends. There is a lot of partying and very little context in early parts of the trailer. We of course recognize the stunning Halloween costumes . There's also a butt. Bravo usually reserves its peaches for The Real Housewives of Atlanta , but made an exception. We also see a number of the Housewives making out with each other, which isn't hugely unusual party behavior. Speaking of parties, they head down to the Sunshine State — to Miami, specifically. If the timing of one of the clips were slightly different, people would be accusing Bethenny Frankel of being a witch. At one point while everyone is living it up in Miami, Bethenny admonishes Sonja. “Go to f–king sleep, now,” Bethenny insists. (You know how some people get super bossy when they're drunk? Well, Bethenny takes that to whole new levels) Sonja just … collapses and falls out of her chair. We don't think that this was what Bethenny meant. Speaking of Bethenny (when are we, in our hearts, not speaking of her?) but on a much sadder note … In the trailer, a tearful Bethenny can be seen coping with the sudden death of Dennis Shields . “There was a lot in my mind about him dying,” she admits. “I could not get off the ride,” Bethenny says of their on-again, off-again relationship. “I feel guilty,” she confesses. “That the only way I could get off the ride is that he’s dead.” It is normal to have mixed feelings about the death of a loved one. It is part of coping. Luann de Lesseps is, of course, doing much better than she was a year ago. “Nine months ago I was in jail,” Luann cheers. “And now I'm a cabaret star, it's insane!” She laughs with glee and is clearly pouring herself into her stage work. This does seem to bring her into conflict with Bethenny for a moment that we just had to turn into a .gif. “I can't even believe you act this way,” an exhasperated Bethenny lashes out. “‘Cabaret, cabaret, cabaret!' Life is not a cabaret!” Bethenny insists, which would make a hell of an audition for the villain in a musical. Finally, Bethenny tells Luann: “You're insufferable!” We hope that the two of them managed to patch things up after this outburst. Bethenny, Dorinda, Sonja, Ramona, and Tinsley are joined this season by Barbara Kavovit and Jill Zarin. While there are a number of friendships among the Housewives, this will clearly not pressure them to hold back. It looks like just about every possible conflict comes to light, and we cannot wait to see it all play out.

The Real Housewives of New York Season 10 Episode 22 Recap: Bethenny Frankel vs. Carole Radziwill

It was the end of the line for Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill on The Real Housewives of New York Season 10 Episode 22 , as the two women admitted it was time to move on.  Radziwill was quick to reveal that Bethenny’s harsh comments about her in the confessionals were too hurtful to move on from.  “The season made it over for me,” she told Frankel on Wednesday’s finale. Watch The Real Housewives of New York City Season 10 Episode 22 Online “When you watch the confessional interviews, I’m seeing what you said about me. About not having a job, not having a husband…” “I didn’t understand until I watched the show and I realized I was really, really trying to salvage our friendship and you didn’t seem that interested,” Radziwill continued.  “And I only can imagine because you knew what you had said at all those confessional interviews.” “I was trying all season to come back from this,” Radziwill said of Bethenny’s comments.  “At the end, I was like, ‘Thank god we’re done with this season. Thank god we can go back. We can just regroup.’ And then I started watching the show…” All of the above suggests that Radzwill was on board for another season of the Bravo hit, but it looks like things changed once she watched the season back.  Bethenny’s comments “made me sad but also angry,” the departing cast member said. For Frankel, Radziwill was just as bad what with her blog post and Instagram live to bash Bethenny.  “The season would not have made it over,” Frankel said. “The bashing with the blogs and the bashing with a friend made it over. … It was really mean.” Bethenny continued to claim that Carole had changed and that was the reason for the dunking of their relationship.  “You’ve changed too,” Radziwill fired back. “You’ve become catty and gossipy. I didn’t change. With this being Radziwill’s final episode, she did open up about her biggest regret: Not patching things up with Frankel.  “My regret was that Bethenny and I could never get to a place where… I thought maybe by the end of the season we would be speaking and then reconnect,” Radziwill said. “Because that friendship was important to me. And that never happened.” “I wish that we had had some kind of conversation so we could have put it into context,” she added. “It was just hard. I tried. That’s my regret, that I failed.” At the top of the episode, Carole got into it with Andy. He was furious that she said he was “full of shit.”  Andy has the power to hire and fire on this franchise, so he was likely shocked at the way she spoke to him.  Carole claimed Andy was scared of Bethenny Frankel, to which he replied: “Yeah, I’m scared of her.” It was ridiculous, but the most telling moment was Andy asking Carole about her regret from the season. “Is yours telling me I’m full of shit?” he said with a serious look on his face.  Could this be the REAL reason Carole is out of the series?  As for the way this reunion concluded? Tears. Lots of tears.  Bethenny turned to look at Dorinda upon being asked what her biggest regret is, and said the following.  “My biggest regret of the season is if I did say, ‘a drunk’ — because you and I heard it the same way when we saw it on TV — but if I called you ‘a drunk,’ I regret saying that to you on television.” “Thank you, Bethenny,” Dorinda replied while crying. “That actually means a lot.” “But I will say for the record, in the moment, we both heard it: ‘You’re drunk,'” Bethenny added. “But anyway, I own what was on the show, and that’s fine, and that’s my regret.” “Um, I think — that actually means a lot to me,” Dorinda said, pointing at Bethenny.  “It’s so stupid — it’s at the end of the show,” Dorinda continued, before meeting Bethenny for a hug. “It means the world to me.” “I tried to be as compassionate as I could while I was there,” Bethenny replied. “And I saw it, and I was like, ‘Oof,’ you know? I really did.” Dorinda then admitted she could not answer, and Andy moved on to Tinsley.  She admitted that she was mad at herself for shouting “Shut your mouth and shut your f–king legs!” at Sonja.  Sonja claimed she also regretted “opening that wound” with Tinsley.  And that’s another season in the can! Amber Portwood: I’m Actually Going to Try to Be a Good Mom This Time!

So hey, have you been keeping an eye on Amber Portwood lately? Because what’s been going on with her is pretty darn bizarre. Like, if you think of Amber Portwood, you don’t think of anything good, you know? You think about the time she hauled off and hit Gary Shirley in the face, or you think about the time he was walking down some stairs and she kicked him right in the back, and how if he wasn’t such a big dude she actually could have seriously hurt him with that. Or you think about how much she always screamed and yelled at Gary right in front of their daughter, Leah. Or you think about how she used to leave Leah crying in her crib while she laid in bed. Or about how she chose to serve a five-year prison sentence instead of giving rehab another go, and how she thinks that makes her the best mother in the history of mothers . Maybe your Teen Mom OG viewing began a little later in the series, and hearing Amber’s name brings back memories of the greasy horror that was Matt Baier. There’s also a chance that the way she picked up Andrew Glennon while on Marriage Boot Camp with Matt sticks out the most in your mind, or how she went on to get pregnant with his child after knowing him for like two weeks. Basically, Amber has always been a mess. A great big one. She’s violent, rude, self-centered, and just so many bad things. But the weird thing is that lately, she’s been kind of … nice? She went off on a few of her classic Twitter rants during her pregnancy — she’s never been great to turn down a chance to tell everyone what a “damn good mom” she is, even after getting called out for only seeing Leah twice during her summer vacation last year. But as she got closer and closer to her due date, she seemed to calm down a lot, and after giving birth to a seriously adorable baby boy she named James back in May, she’s been almost serene. It’s been nothing but calm, sweet social media posts, including the most precious pictures of her new baby . And in this new interview she did with Us Weekly, she explains why she’s been so different lately … Because this time around, she wants to be a damn good mom, for real! About her first go at motherhood, she admits “I was clueless.” “I didn’t want to ask questions because I didn’t want to sound young or stupid. This is a chance for me to really show what kind of mother I am.” Leah’s is going to be 10 years old in November, so Amber’s had plenty of time to show what kind of mother she is with her, but sure, let’s focus on the baby, whatever. “Before, I wasn’t mature nor was the relationship right,” she explains. “I want to make sure I don’t fall into old patterns and get into a depressed state.” “I have to take care of myself. Healthy mommy, healthy baby.” She also says that unlike back when she and Gary had Leah, “I’m more driven and have the means to take care of a baby better.” No one would argue that a 28-year-old would have an easier time raising a baby than an 18-year-old, but isn’t it a little odd how she’s acting like she’s completely done with parenting Leah, like she had her chance but it’s gone now? Anyway, as for Andrew, Amber says “He is such an amazing man and loves taking care of James.” “He was afraid of postpartum depression, so he’s always checking up on me. He just wants to make sure I’m loved. It’s almost perfect.” We’re sure we’ll see that “almost” part in the next season of Teen Mom OG — after all, Amber is known for her habit of making things seem perfect on social media before everyone sees how messy things actually are on the show. But for now, we hope things really are going as well as they seem to be. We also hope she realizes that she still has a chance to be a great mother to Leah, but one thing at a time, right? Luann de Lesseps FUMES at Ramona Singer: You Betrayed Me, She-Devil!!

Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill aren’t the only The Real Housewives of New York City stars to have a frittered friendship . Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer weren’t exactly joined at the hip before, but now Luann is taking her to task. Why? Because Ramona betrayed her trust when she was at her most vulnerable — right after she got out of rehab. If you watch The Real Housewives of New York City online , you already know what went down on the episode titled: ” Arrest and Relaxation. ” But one explosive conflict from the episode really merits a closer look. On Wednesday night’s episode of RHONY , Luann did not mince words when she referred to a group photo that Ramona shared with the world. “The she-devil strikes again,” Luann announced. She-devil can either be very confrontational (because yikes!) or very complimentary (it’s what Red Sonja is called, after all), but Luann meant it in the worst sense. Luann explains: “I really feel like Ramona invaded my privacy by putting a picture out of me when nobody knew where I was.” The Countess was in a very vulnerable place in her life and did not feel encouraged by the entire world knowing what she was up to just yet. “And now,” Luann says. “The whole world knows I’m out of rehab.” She wanted to let the world know on her terms, when the time was right. She feels that Ramona robbed her of that opportunity. What’s more is that Luann fears that Ramona’s thoughtless photo — which, in fairness, Ramona did later delete — could impact her appearance in court. “I have a court case coming up,” Luann laments.”I don’t need more press!” Being a reality star has its pitfalls. Luann explains why publicity is a problem, saying: “I don’t need pictures of me and the press making guesses at what I’m up to.” The rest of us might look at a headline that says Luann de Lesseps: Out of Rehab and Drinking Already? and question its veracity. But if a judge sees that kind of speculation, it might change Luann’s life forever. Since the news was out in the open anyway, Luann did make it official with a post of her own. “It’s good to be home,” Luann wrote to her fans and followers. “I’m doing great. Spending time with friends and family. Thanking everyone for your continued good wishes and support.” “My return to New York is supposed to be on my terms,” Luann tells the camera.. “I just feel like I got the rug pulled out of me.” She felt shocked that others knew before she was ready to tell the world. On RHONY , she’s seen giving Ramona a piece of her mind. “You put a picture up and now Luann is the talk of the town again,” Luann laments. She does acknowledge that she knew that it would happen sooner or later — but that she feels betrayed that it was by Ramona’s hand. “It’s inevitable that I will be in the press again, I just don’t want my friends to drive it,” Luann says. “You opened up a can of worms for me.” “These are hurtful things. You’re hurting me,” Luann explained. “You have to be more respectful and thoughtful about your friends.” Ramona was shocked, having not realized that she was doing anything wrong. “We also post group shots! It’s a beautiful picture,” Ramona said, at first being defensive. Ramona did realize that she was in the wrong and apologized, saying: “You didn’t tell me not to post. … I’m sorry.” Ramona, to her credit, became very apologetic and worked to make things right. “I’m disappointed in myself,” Ramona admitted. “I wasn’t thinking. Now I understand. … I made a huge mistake. This was bad. What I did was bad.” Luann also had another bone to pick with Ramona. See, Ramona had been hanging out with Luann’s recent ex, Tom D’Agustino. “There are so many guys on the Upper East Side. Really?” Luann tells the camera. She continues to complain to the camera about Ramona, saying: “You have to go and have drinks with Tom? I knew Ramona wasn’t the brightest tool in the shed, but what an idiot.” To be honest, that seems a little harsh.  “It’s not cool,” Luann said, yelling at Ramona. “If you’re my friend, it’s not cool. What you did, most people would never talk to you again.” Whoa, there. She spoke with him socially. She didn’t bang him. “That is the lowest of the low,” Luann insists, feeling betrayed. “Do you realize that? What you did is the lowest of the low.” Ramona explained that she hadn’t been there to meet with Tom, that they had just happened into each other. “Just because Luann divorced Tom doesn’t mean he’s going to disappear,” Ramona says. “He travels with the same circle as I do,” Ramona continues. “He has the same friends as I do.” That’s one of the big pitfalls of a breakup — everybody knows each other. Ramona then throws some shade, saying: “Listen, if I couldn’t talk with every man Luann ended up being with, I wouldn’t be talking to any men in New York City!” Luann is not amused, however. “You make it worse,” Luann accuses. “You don’t have my best interest at heart and I can’t be around that.” Wow.
