Some reporters freak out in a bad way when their live report is interrupted by an animal. Such as this San Diego weatherman who couldn't handle a bug flying around his head. But other reporters lose their mind in the positive sense when a (sort of) similar situation takes place. Take the BBC's Steve Backshall, for example, who was conducting an interview with whale expert Dorris Welch on a boat in California's Monterey Bay when he learned that blue whale had been spotted. Yes, a blue whale! “This is one of the most extraordinary things I've ever seen,” Backshall gushes, going on and on over the “largest animal ever known to have lived on our planet.” It is pretty cool, we must admit. It isn’t a secret that 18-year-old Kylie is cutting ties with her family, or at least going out of her way to show they no longer control her. Over the weekend, Kylie made it clear that she is done with her sisters. And in the process, she broke the cardinal rule of sisterhood. Even worse, when Kourtney and Scott split , he abandoned their children! But apparently, none of this matters to Kylie because the two seem to be BFFs; Kylie, Tyga, and Scott partied together at 1OAK in West Hollywood. She was followed by some paparazzi, but for the most part, she looked like any other young woman out having a good time with her elderly husband. But there was a note of sadness to C-Stod’s milestone birthday. Courtney’s mom and former manager, Krista Stodden, dumped her as a client back in April due to “creative differences” (Read: She wasn’t down with Courtney’s sex tape .) They haven’t spoken since, and apparently, Krista has done a 180 on her decision to allow Courtney to marry Doug when she was only 16, and he was (ugh) 51. “Courtney is turning 21 and this will be the first time in my life that I have not been with my daughter on her birthday,” Krista said during a recent interview with Radar Online. “Things are still very icy between us and I have not talked to her since she and I went our separate ways,” Krista said during a recent.” She went on to blame their fractured relationship on Courtney’s marriage: “I believe there are external influences without any names being said,” Krista said. “I do not believe mothers and daughters should be separated. “I encourage husbands to not divide but encourage a healthy relationship between mother and daughter. And it is not unusual for mothers and daughters to occasionally have their disagreements. Maybe he just doesn’t know any better.” Meh. Maybe if she played the “blame the creepy older husband card” earlier, we’d be more likely to buy it but bizarrely, Court and Doug have been married for five years. Remember how last week I said the show kind of disappointed me? Well despite that, I found myself really anticipating this weeks episode, to the point where I even asked myself “Is it Thursday yet?” What I should have done, to satiate that anticipation, was go back and read my review of the first episode. Because while I wouldn’t say this one was any worse, I did not get some fun thrill that made my waiting worthwhile. It’s kind of like those episodes in the RW/RR Challenge where someone I really like goes home…I waited all week, just to be sad at the end. I also found myself asking “Did I fall asleep?” when this episode ended. I am going to make a guess that they put fewer commercials in the first episode, therefore making it more action packed or whatever. But I felt strange enough about how short it seemed that I kept it on the DVR and will hopefully find the time to watch it again. And if I do that and find I did, in fact, fall asleep, I will write an amended review. Somehow, though, I don’t think I will find something terribly redeeming in a rewatch
