Source: Eugene Gologursky / Getty Every now and then, a White person comes along that the Black delegation will usher in as honorary brethren. This person can be referred to as someone “invited to the cookout,” an “honorary brother/sister,” or a White person who “gets a pass.” However, when these non-melinated phenomenons happen, it’s important to remember two things. First off, the Black delegation is always changing and multifaceted depending on where you live, who you hang out with and the things you’re into. Secondly, there’s a difference between Black people “loving” a White person and “loooving” a White person. Loving a White person usually means you love their style, their music or some aspect about their personality (see: Justin Timberlake , Robin Thicke ), but you’re still able to hold them accountable when they fall short on topics like racism, the nuances of the N-word (don’t say it!), or how they season their potato salad. In contrast, loooving a White person is a borderline toxic form of love where you’ll let a White person get away with almost anything because they’re so “hip,” “cool,” or overall talented. White people make a huge mistake when they think Black people looove them. Alec Baldwin recently made this mistake in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter when he said, “Ever since I played Trump, Black people love me. They love me. Everywhere I go, Black people go crazy. I think it’s because they’re most afraid of Trump.” No, no, no Baldwin. First off, to my earlier point, these Black people who “love” you might be of a different delegation than other Black delegations. To be frank, I can’t think of an entire time in my life when Alec Baldwin came up in a conversation amongst Black friends. Many on Black Twitter seemed to agree: i for real don't think i've ever talked to another black person about alec baldwin. https://t.co/b6UC5LeMoR — Spooky Bread Terry (@SlimiHendrix) October 10, 2018 We had one of our big Black bar-b-ques in Wakanda last night, and we couldn't stop talking about how much we Blacks just loves us some Alec Baldwin https://t.co/hoxuRYzMg9 — Tariq Nasheed (@tariqnasheed) October 10, 2018 Its been hours and I'm still unsure of where to begin the list of ways Alec Baldwin got us fucked up. https://t.co/8ZCPcQ62Y0 — Sylvia Obell (@SylviaObell) October 10, 2018 To my second point, just because there’s Black people who “love” Alec Baldwin doesn’t mean they “looove” Alec Baldwin. Will these Black people put their neck on the line for Alec Baldwin if he messes up? I’ll wait. At the end of the day, White people should just refrain from saying Black people “love” them, even if that White person has contributed something of value to a Black person’s life. On top of this, White people should never assume that just because Black people support them, it gives them the right to say or do whatever they want in regards to a whole community. Alec Baldwin isn’t the first White person to be feeling himself a little too much. Hit the next pages to check out other White folks who need to calm down before they start speaking for an entire community.

Sigh. Sometimes it’s difficult to remember that we are living in 2017 and not 1967, as racism is just as prominent as it ever was these days. Bolstered by #45’s reign, it appears that racists are out in full force, unapologetically spewing their hate wherever they go. An Atlanta waitress found out this horrible reality […]

La La Anthony And Halle Berry Get Milfy For VH1 Dear Mama Event La La Anthony set that body out again to co-host Vh1’s Dear Mama event with Anthony Anderson Saturday night in NYC. The event, which airs Monday, May 8 at 10pm on VH1 includes appearances from Halle Berry, Kelly Rowland, Maxwell, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Chris Paul and more. Speaking of the star-studded line-up, the ladies really outdid themselves for this red carpet. La La wasn’t the only MILF on the carpet. Halle Berry got it poppington too… And Kelly Rowland was also giving looks, although her dress was definitely more of the “Mama” than MILF variety. Let’s not forget it’s also revenge SZN for Mary J. Blige. Hit the flip for more photos from the carpet and don’t forget to tell us Who Looked More Bangin! SplashNews/WENN Let’s take a moment for Julissa Bermudez as well. Good to see her and longtime bae Maxwell hitting the carpet together. Love the body jewelry she has going on under that there robe too! Another cute couple on the carpet was Terrence Jenkins and Jasmine Sanders https://instagram.com/p/BTyZYrAhtMN/?taken-by=lala https:/instagram.com/p/BTxaenyAkby/?taken-by=halleberry
I don’t want to call Emily Ratajkowski overrated, because she’s been responsible for giving me more pants fires than I can count over the years. But I do find it funny that she somehow went from getting naked in a Robin Thicke video to world-famous model. See ladies? Dreams do come true. Now, who wants to be in a music video? I don’t have a song yet, but I’m sure I can always just “borrow” some Marvin Gaye tune too.
Oh, 2016, haven’t you done enough?! We don’t know what this year’s problem is, but it takes and it takes and it takes, and it gives nothing back but empty hearts, broken souls, and America’s first Cheeto president. One of this year’s most recent hits — and one of its hardest — happened last week with the loss of Alan Thicke . The beloved Mr. Thicke was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son when he suffered a massive heart attack . He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead soon after. After the news broke that he had died, celebrities and fans alike shared their shock and sadness . It seems like most everyone who knew of his work or who had actually worked with him adored him. And, needless to say, his family was heartbroken. His youngest son, Carter — the one who was with Alan when he had his heart attack — got on Twitter that same day and wrote “Today I lost my best friend and my idol.” “The world lost one of its finest,” Carter went on. “You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time.” Alan’s older son, Robin Thicke, took to Instagram to say “My father passed away today. He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had.” “Let’s all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you, Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son.” And now, Alan’s widow, Tanya Thicke, has made a statement of her own. And it’s rough . “It is with gut wrenching sadness and unbelievable grief that I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love and support during this unimaginable time,” the statement begins. “Through tears and smiles our dearest of family and friends came together at our home to celebrate the life of my sweet and devoted husband Alan Thicke.” “Yesterday, along with my step sons and our combined extended family, we laid my beloved husband, soul mate and the patriarch of our family to rest. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time of profound mourning.” In the statement, Tanya is referencing Alan’s funeral, which was held on Monday at the couple’s home. About the event, a source said that “The mood was very upbeat, it was more like a fun Vanity Fair Oscars party than a memorial.” “All the speeches were fun and full of life. It was just the way Alan would have wanted it, more of a celebration of his life. Everyone was expressing how much they love him.” For the funeral, Tanya asked that, instead of flowers, guests make donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which was something that Alan “cared about deeply.” Here’s hoping that some of that grief gets easier for Tanya and her family.
