Naya Rivera and Big Sean got engaged after six months of dating and now it looks like they won’t be making it to the altar, just as many predicted. Star magazine reports Naya and Sean have called off the wedding and are soon to be going their separate ways. The split leaves many wondering why a couple that started off moving so fast would suddenly slam on the brakes. Sources close to the couple are offering conflicting answers: Big Sean has a reputation as a relentless player – even by rapper standards – so when the news first broke, many naturally assumed that Sean had cheated on Naya. Some sources close to the couple say Sean admitted his infidelities when he couldn’t stand the guilt any longer. It seems at least one person has forgiven Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for assaulting his fiancee. Namely, his fiancee, Janay Palmer. Rice and Palmer got married over the weekend, despite a whirlwind of negative press surrounding the couple after Rice was arrested for assaulting Palmer during an incident in an Atlantic City casino last month. Always a master of romantic timing, Ray Rice allegedly assaulted Palmer the day after Valentine’s Day and the couple walked down the aisle just one day later. The 27-year-old was formally indicted for the attack. Rice and Palmer put a rush on their nuptials after his arrest, with Friday night’s ceremony being planned only “a couple weeks earlier” according to a source. The aggravated assault charge for which Rice was indicted on Thursday is more serious than the simple assault-domestic violence charge for which Rice was originally arrested. According to witnesses and security camera footage, Rice knocked Palmer unconscious during their altercation and proceeded to drag her from the casino. Initially, both parties were arrested, but only Rice has been formally charged. If convicted, the Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion could face 3-5 years in prison. Rice’s lawyer recently issued a statement saying that both Rice and Palmer are in therapy and Palmer has no desire to press charges. No word yet on when Rice will stand trial.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced this afternoon that they are separating after a decade of marriage. “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate,” the stars announced on the GOOP website under the heading “Conscious Uncoupling.” Paltrow and Martin are the parents of two children: Apple, 9, and Moses, 7. The actress and the singer added that they have “working hard for well over a year” to make the relationship work. However… “We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate,” they wrote. “We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been.” Emphasizing how they are “parents first and foremost,” the long-time couple made a plea for privacy and concluded: “We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.” The Oscar winner and the Coldplay frontman tied the knot in a secret ceremony in late 2003 and have faced breakup rumors for many years.
