The Real Housewives of New Jersey Recap: Rebuilding Jersey

It’s “Salon, Farewell” as The Real Housewives of New Jersey wrap up their season as everyone gathers at the salon. We recap the fighting and scary faces in our THG + or – review. And what kind of finale would it be without Kim D’s scowling face? Apparently the woman who resembles the crypt keeper scares Joe and Teresa Giudice too? Plus 20. But it’s Penny and Teresa who go at it first. Since Penny is claiming Teresa texts her, Teresa wants to see the texts. Plus 12 because for once Teresa makes a perfectly reasonable request.   Unfortunately Penny tells her, “I don’t save my texteses.” Or was that I don’t save Texas? Minus 18. My Jersey Housewives translator must be on the fritz. And Minus 30 because if Teresa’s voice went any higher it could break glass. Please make her stop. Then Joe Gorga gets in Johnny, Penny’s husband’s face about him sending mean tweets and at first he manages to hold his temper. Plus 10. Oh, but that doesn’t last long. Before you know it there’s enough cursing and screaming to remind me that this is indeed The Real Housewives of New Jersey . Unfortunately when one person screams, everyone screams and the cameras are dancing around so much it’s impossible to see what’s really happening. Minus 25. It’s actually kind of funny watching someone hold Kim D back and Caroline practically crying “I don’t understand how people are so evil.” in son Christopher’s arms. These two weren’t even involved in this conversation. Although Kim D does look a little like the devil. She could drive almost anyone to tears. Minus 15. Finally, Teresa decides to side with her family and tells the rest that if, “they wanna buy Milania hair products, tell them to go f**k themselves.” For this family, that’s considered progress. Plus 21. In the aftermath something astonishing happens. Teresa admits to her brother that she took pleasure in hearing people say bad things about Melissa when they weren’t getting along. Yes, I know it’s not much. She doesn’t say she started the rumors. She won’t admit she was involved at all…but for Tre, just accepting responsibility for this much is huge. Plus 40. Maybe it’s the Love Poison in the muddy water…oh I mean in the blk water. Teresa and her brother cry and hug and…is it horrible to admit I was a little bored? Haven’t we been here before? Minus 19. The season ends with everyone hanging out at the Jersey shore…looking an awful lot like family. Plus 50. Will it last? From the looks of the reunion previews that’s a giant NO …but this is The Real Housewives of New Jersey. What were you expecting? And did you catch the Joe and Teresa interview with Andy Cohen?  We’ll hit the highlights… Teresa doesn’t even know what their charged with. Joe claims he doesn’t know if he’s looking at 50 or 100 years behind bars. They haven’t told Gia that there’s the possibility they might have to do jail time. Melissa and Joe will not get their kids if they do go to prison. When asked whether they have lived beyond their means…Tre gives an emphatic no! We’ll see what else comes out in next week’s Reunion show. Episode total = +46!                Season total = -578!

Breaking Bad Finale: A Proper Goodbye?

At one point on the Breaking Bad series finale, Walter White breaks into his estranged wife’s new home and tells her he’s there for a “proper goodbye.” Which, of course, begs the question: Did the program many consider to be the best in television history send itself off this week with a proper goodbye? Breaking Bad Says Goodbye Breaking Bad Series Finale: What Went Down In our opinion? Yes, if you were looking for a finale that represented what made the drama so terrific in the first place; no, if you were seeking a jaw-dropping twist or bombshell of some kind. The back half of Breaking Bad Season 5 mirrored its main character. With his identity outed to his DEA agent of a brother-in-law, Walt was frenzied and on the edge. He was leaping from one dangerous situation to another, telling lies, coming up with plans, constantly believing that he journey wasn’t over. It was an intense a few weeks of TV as anyone will likely witness. But finally, after months spent in New Hampshire alone and after being cursed off his own son, Walt realized that it really was time. He had one mission remaining and he fulfilled it, simple as that. Millions of dollars will eventually go to Flynn and Holly; Uncle Jack and his Neo-Nazis are dead; Skyler hopefully has a Get Out of Jail Card Lottery Ticket. And Jesse is free. Yeah, bitches, Jesse Pinkman is free! He really had to be, didn’t he? Viewers had to be thrown nugget of happiness and even if it’s hard to envision Jesse ever living a truly happy life, at least we know he’ll be living. The same cannot be said of Walter White. He accidentally died by his own bullet via a specially-made machine gun. Which is perfectly apt, don’t you think? Walter White really died a long time ago via specially-made meth and got replaced by Heisenberg. So, no, we won’t be talking specifically about this finale the way many folks still talk about Lost. Instead, we’ll be talking about Breaking Bad as a whole and the singular, focused vision of its creator, along with the iconic portrayal of its lead actor. And, hey, as long as we’re not talking about Miley Cyrus for a change, right? Grade the Breaking Bad finale now:   A B C D F View Poll »

Steve Carell to Reprise Michael Scott For The Office Series Finale

Steve Carell is bringing back Michael Scott, if only for one night. Having left at the end of Season 7 more than two years ago, the beloved actor will return to The Office for the series’ May 16 finale, according to reports. Just last week, creator Greg Daniels sought to quell talk of a Carell cameo, saying he did not want to overshadow the ending for the rest of the characters. Reading between the lines, that meant Michael Scott’s return would only be a small part of the series’ much-anticipated swan song, not the focal point. Reliable sources say he will return a week from Thursday, and this weekend, Carell surprised thousands of Office fans at a wrap party in Scranton, Pa. In related news, that was the same function in the sitcom’s real-life setting that longtime co-star Rainn Wilson ripped US Airways for making him late to. And in other (potential) Carell news, we think he’d be a good choice to star as the lead in the recently-announced Mister Rogers movie . Don’t you? In any case, are you excited for The Office series finale? How should the show handle his return, if at all? Hit the comments below to discuss!

Starz to Kill Off Spartacus After Season 3 [PICS]

Spartacus and its prequel series, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, have been a veritable Bacchanalia of bare boobage. But much like the Roman Empire itself, it isn’t going to last forever. In fact, it’s only going to last one more season. Usually networks let a show go on as long as it’s profitable- sometimes even after the creators have lost interest- but Starz is taking a different approach with Spartacus . It’s Starz’ most-watched show by a wide margin, but still network head Chris Albrecht and series creator Steven DeKnight have announced that after Spartacus: War of the Damned airs next January, they’re going to end the show for good. (DeKnight cites many “bumps in the road” explaining the decision in a recent interview , including the death of original star Andy Whitfield last year.) There’s still plenty to look forward to in Season 3- Kiwi cutie Anna Hutchinson has joined the cast for War of the Damned along with fellow Underbelly alum Jenna Lind , taking over for the departing Viva Bianca and Lucy Lawless . Both actresses have good track records for nudity, as does Spartacus and Starz generally, but still those teats will be bittersweet for fans of the show. Soak up those bath scenes while you can, fellas. Rub one out in honor of Lucy Lawless , Viva Bianca and the rest of the nude cast of Spartacus and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena right here at MrSkin.com

Brody Jenner, Avril Lavigne to Star on Reality Show?

Having just been a part of scripted history in the climactic scene on Tuesday’s series finale of The Hills, is Brody Jenner already planning a return to reality TV? In Touch Weekly is reporting that Brody, who’s been on like 13 shows already, is actively pitching a new show for himself and Avril Lavigne – his real girlfriend. That stuff with Kristin Cavallari was all fake. According to insiders, Avril isn’t down with the idea, so Brody has been “begging” her to consider it. Supposedly, she’s “so in love with him” she might agree . BEING BRAVRIL : Will Jenner and Lavigne get their own show? What would they call it, and would anyone watch it? [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com] Maybe that’s why he got that tattoo . Now she has to do it, right? Look at the strength of commitment he showed to their relationship … reciprocate, already! Basically, it sounds she doesn’t want to say no – but she REALLY doesn’t want to do it either. Bet you she caves, though. The women of Hollywood usually do. Can you blame them? It’s Brody Jenner .

5 Reasons Why the Final Season of The Hills Was a Total Bust

The final season of The Hills was more disappointing than the last season of The Wire , and MTV wasn’t even trying to force a goofy fake serial killer plot down our throats (though come to think of it, this final stroll with Kristin and Brody probably would have been more enjoyable if an imaginary murderer was terrorizing the Hollywood Hills). Instead, MTV assumed the role of the assassin by destroying what used to be a good franchise by making Kristin Cavallari the star and stripping the audience of its collective dignity, one incest joke at a time. On the eve of tonight’s series finale, here are the five reasons why the last season of The Hills was a complete letdown.

Cherry Jones Embraces Her Inner Katherine Heigl, Bows Out of Emmy Race

This should surprise exactly no one: After suffering through the final season on 24 with a character arc that was literally made up as it went along — said executive producer Howard Gordon last month: “There was some other mid-season purpose for her, but I can’t remember; even in the beginning, I told her I didn’t have much of a part for her” — Cherry Jones has taken herself out of consideration for an Emmy nomination. Representatives for the 2009 Best Supporting Actress winner won’t say why she dropped out, but that’s probably only because they’re better at this than Katherine Heigl. [ LAT /Gold Derby ]
