Fantastic Fest: The Human Centipede 2 Premiere Claims A Victim

Somewhere toward the end of The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) , Tom Six’s follow-up to the notorious 2010 dare of a horror film The Human Centipede (First Sequence) — after the sequel’s new villain had performed makeshift “surgery” on his twelve victims but before the film’s gruesome, stomach-churning denouement — the woman sitting next to me fell ill and fainted. She came to minutes later, she told me as we waited for medics, only to be greeted by a wall of disorienting, horrifying sounds, a cacophony of screams and even worse noises, accompanied by some of the vilest images ever captured on film. Needless to say, it was agony to live through. But, she said with a brave smile, it reminded her that she was human after all.

Killer Elite Pretty Much Gives Up With New Red-Band Trailer

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: I enjoyed the Statham/De Niro/Owen assassin intrigue Killer Elite — more than most, it appears . But hoo boy , this new red-band opening-day trailer is misguided. At least two scenes here aren’t even in the movie, and the gratuitous female nudity is like… what ? Anyway, I’m only posting it as a public service advisory letting you know this movie is better than this puerile, hard-rawkin’, NSFW garbage. Desperate marketing gone wrong — and your complete Friday Buzz Break — after the jump.

Happy 61st Birthday, Bill Murray! What’s His Most Underrated Moment?

Though I like arguing on behalf of underrated performers ( Melanie Griffith , for example), sometimes it’s more fun to commemorate our indisputably great actors. Bill Murray is the ne plus ultra of deadpan comic delivery — salty as the Dead Sea, dry as Death Valley, and great in almost everything. He’s 61 today, which means it’s our duty to shine light upon his more underrated moments in movies. What’s your pick?

Yvonne Strahovski on Killer Elite, Her Comedy Debut With Seth Rogen and a Baby For Chuck

Over the past four years, Yvonne Strahovski has acquainted herself with television audiences as CIA agent Sarah Walker on NBC’ s fast-paced, quick-witted spy series Chuck . Now, as the beloved comedy-drama gears up for its fifth and final season, the Australian actress is making her big-budget box office debut in Gary McKendry’s action film Killer Elite which pits a retired British Special Air Service member (Jason Statham) against a violent hit squad. As Statham’s onscreen girlfriend, Strahovski gets to retain her Aussie accent, stay away from the testosterone-fueled violence and share coffee with Robert De Niro.

‘Mechanic’ Star Jason Statham Talks Allure Of Playing Tough Guys

‘If I do go into something else, it will be because it is good,’ the action hero tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Jason Statham Photo: MTV News Those familiar with the work of Jason Statham know that he doesn’t really do “fluffy” films or romantic comedies. He is a man of action and general butt-kicking/badass-ery: see “The Transporter,” “The Bank Job,” “Crank” and “The Expendables,” to name a few. Statham’s new film, “The Mechanic,” in which he plays a trained assassin who takes the son of his former mentor (Ben Foster) under his wing, is no different. There is a lot of action and a lot of ass-kicking, just the way his fans like it. When MTV News caught up with Statham, we asked him if he felt at all typecast, and whether he’d take on a nice-guy role in a romantic comedy someday. “You know, it’s tough, because people will always keep saying to me, ‘Do you only see yourself doing action movies?’ and, I don’t know,” Statham said. “It’s very difficult because one day I might be asked to do something that is of quality in a different genre, but the films that come from different genres aren’t that great,” he argued. “So I end up not doing them because once you make a mistake in that area, you can’t go back. So, if I do go into something else, it will be because it is good.” But Foster told us his co-star doesn’t just play a tough guy onscreen, but rather makes each performance unique by infusing them with “vulnerability.” “If you’re a tough guy, and Jason is, the hardest part is showing vulnerability,” Foster explained. “And it’s working in ‘The Bank Job’ and in ‘The Mechanic’ here, and other films. He brings a lot of quiet heart to it. And it’s difficult stuff because movie viewers aren’t looking for that necessarily,” he said. “But Jason is always being a humanity to [something] behind the bullets.” Are you fan of Jason Statham’s action roles?
