ALAIN JOCARD/AFP/Getty Images Six Flags Is Replacing All Of Its Flags With American Flags From now on, only one flag will fly over the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park: An American flag. Park officials have confirmed that the six different flags that had previously flown over the park, including the Confederate States of America flag, will be replaced by six American flags. As such, we have changed the flag displays in our parks to feature American flags.” The decision was made after the park received criticism for reportedly saying that it had no plans to remove the Confederate flag in light of the recent events in Charlottesville, VA. Comedian And Civil Rights Activist Dick Gregory Dead At 84

Joseph Marzullo/WENN.com Dick Gregory Dies A celebrated comedian and civil rights activist has died. Dick Gregory passed away Saturday at 84 according to family members who shared the news on his official Facebook. “It is with enormous sadness that the Gregory family confirms that their father, comedic legend and civil rights activist Mr. Dick Gregory departed this earth tonight in Washington, DC,” his son Christian Gregory said  in the post . “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and love and respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time. More details will be released over the next few days.” According to The Associated Press, Gregory died from a bacterial infection after several hospital visits. No word yet on funeral arrangements for this icon, but we’ll keep you posted as more details become available. Rest in heaven Dick Gregory.

Poor MJB! Mary J. Blige Issues Statement On Divorce Mary J. Blige is well aware that fans are reeling over the news that she and her hubby Kendu Issacs are no more, so she’s released a statement. According to the songstress this is a “very difficult, emotional time for her” and sometimes “things don’t work.” ESSENCE reports: Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. Tyra Banks is leaving her talk show FABLife after two months. In related news, Tyra Banks had a talk show called FABLife apparently. Who knew?!? The latest daytime program to try and make like The View debuted just this past September. “This is a very difficult decision, but necessary,” said Banks in a statement, adding by way of explanation: “I will be devoting more time to my new, growing cosmetics company, TYRA Beauty, which is expanding faster than anticipated, as well as overseeing my company’s other entertainment ventures.” For those somehow unaware, FABLife is a program that features Chrissy Teigen , Joe Zee, Lauren Makk and Leah Ashley talking about food, makeovers, fashion, interior design and stuff in general that makes one’s life fabulous. Banks has been serving as co-host and executive producer; there are no plans for a replacement host, though we hear Rosie O’Donnell is available. As previously reported, meanwhile, Banks will also be closing the chapter on America’s Next Top Model. Last month, the annoying model revealed that Cycle 22 will be that long-running competition’s final season.  “I truly believe it’s time,” Banks Tweeted at the time. “May your pics be forever fierce. Stuart Scott’s Daughters Visit His Mural, Promote Fundraising For A Cure We got really choked up posting this… The ESPY’s are in L.A. tonight and one very special person won’t be able to attend. Stuart Scott . Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughters Taelor and Sydni on what we are sure must be a very difficult day for them. The girls have been in Los Angeles this week doing interviews and promoting raising money to fight cancer. We love this photo they tweeted out in front of their father’s mural: What a beautiful shot. The ladies have been tweeting out information about how to donate to the Jimmy V Foundation which is accepting donations to benefit the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer fund. We lost a real one with Stuart Scott. So glad we have Taelor and Sydni to carry on his legacy.

Tyler Perry Defends Films And Dismisses Critics Tyler Perry talked about how he handles the criticism that is thrown his way and he says that the positive feedback that he gets from fans of his movies heavily overshadows the critics’ talk. Via HuffPo Live: “Here’s the thing about the critics, let me tell you this, I look for the truth in the critique, I honestly do. If there’s something in there that makes sense to me, I try to find and say ‘You know what, I thought that.’ But if it’s vitriolic, if it’s just venomous, I don’t pay attention to it. But for me, it’s very difficult because I have to hear the balance, right? So you have someone who says ‘This is awful, this is the worst thing I have ever seen.’ And then I’ve got a mother who’s sending me a letter saying, and these are real letters by the thousands on my Facebook page, ‘I was in an abusive relationship, I was able to get out when I saw Diary of a Mad Black Woman.’ One woman talked about having a cornea transplant and the first movie she wanted to see was mine. These are real stories that touch my heart in such a way that I’m thinking, why even pay attention to that when it’s the people that are moved and keep coming to see the films.” Tyler Perry knows what works and what doesn’t work for his fanbase. After weeks of speculation, Britney Spears has confirmed what we already knew – that she’s quitting The X Factor after her first and only season last fall. “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Brit tells ET Online in a statement, adding that Fox was informed of her decision. “I had such an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.” “Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.” Spears is reportedly hard at work on her eighth studio album, with her manager, Adam Leber, Tweeting, “It’s a little premature to give details on album 8.” “I know a lot of you are rabid for info but @britneyspears has only had a few sessions … I will say we had an incredible session with @EsterDean and @Hit_Boy. Great start.” Can’t wait. Or blame her from bailing on that sinking ship. As for whether Spears is also going to quit Jason Trawick in 2013, it looks like she’s on the verge of dumping him as conservator if nothing else.
