Hungry Azz: Local TN Police On The Hunt For ‘Breakfast Bandit’ Constantly Crashing Continental Buffets [Video]

A man in Dalton, TN is hopping from hotel to hotel, munching up the continental breakfasts and sneaking into rooms around cleaning time to pilfer lotion and shampoo. He isn’t exactly hurting anyone…it’s largely just strange and annoying. However, his actions are a form of theft , and as such, police are on a (non-urgent, it seems) search for the hungry hotel hopper. He tells staff members who catch him that he’s doing research to see just how easy it is to sneak into hotels and get free meals and items. We doubt anyone thought that was an exceptionally difficult task at the types of hotels he’s frequenting…but at least he’s being somewhat honest. Hey, maybe he’s just looking for ways to save money. But the cops are likely going to redirect that energy rather quickly once they’re able to track him down… Getty/Youtube/WRCB

Don’t Feed The Troll

Trolls do zilch for me these days. This is because I'm jaded. Allow me to explain. I moderate a rather high-profile message board. This has been a pastime of mine for a few years now. Over the years, I have seen my share of trolls, and I've learned that the best way to deal with trolls is not to react to them. You see, the troll is an enigmatic creature. They could be just about anyone you imagine…your teacher, your mail carrier, your sibling, even one of your parents or grandparents. They could be fine, upstanding citizens, who simply like to say inflammatory things on the Internet just to get a rise out of people…(continued) added by: DoctorLulzington

Kobe Bryant Wins 2010 Finals MVP

Filed under: Celtics , Lakers , NBA Finals He may not have won the regular season MVP. But as the 2009-10 season drew to a close, Kobe Bryant was the last superstar left standing. And while tonight may not have been his most scintillating performance ever, Bryant did what he had to, leading his team to the NBA title over the Boston Celtics . That’s why, for the second time in as many postseasons, the Lakers are taking home the Larry O’Brien trophy and Kobe hoisted the Bill Russell Award, better known as the NBA Finals MVP. The game that clinched the title for Bryant and the Lakers was hard fought and often ugly. Bryant wasn’t exactly his usual high-scoring self, going for 23 points on 6 for 24 shooting. In keeping with the gritty game, though, he did pull down 15 boards — much as, earlier in the playoffs, Kobe put up higher-than-usual assist totals when his team needed to get together on offense.

USC-Hawaii Still On For College Football’s Opening Weekend

Among the weirder penalties levied in USC’s general direction by the Committee On Infractions was the elimination of their 13th regular-season game, which was actually the season opener at Hawaii. Some background on why this is possible in the first place: The Sept. 2 game at Aloha Stadium was in doubt because sanctions levied against USC last week prevented exemptions from the current 12-game NCAA limit. A 1955 bylaw known as the “Hawaii Exemption” permits visiting teams to play one game more than the NCAA maximum if traveling to Hawaii. The rule was established to allow teams to schedule an extra home game to recoup lost revenue from traveling outside the continental 48. It’s Hawaii, however, that would have really suffered the hit to the wallet here with the loss of a home contest, and the NCAA has agreed to push the docking of a 13th game back a year : “We want to thank the committee for granting this relief,” said Todd Dickey, USC’s senior vice president for administration. “It recognizes the serious financial impacts game cancellation would have had to the university and state of Hawaii, as well as the fans and supporters of USC who have already made travel arrangements.” Yes, won’t someone think of the fans with the means to jet off to the islands to watch their team administer a bloodbath? Or of the certain four-letter sports network that stood to lose the nightcap of its opening-day coverage bonanza? The reality is the estimated million-dollar payday is one Hawaii’s cash-strapped athletic department could ill afford to lose. Coincidentally, “a million” is also the number of offensive yards the Trojans are expected to record in Honolulu. (Thank you!)
