Argentina’s New Ambassador Has a SKINtillating Soft-Core Past [PICS]

Here’s some political news that won’t put you to sleep: Argentina’s new undersecretary to the Ministry of Culture is none other than soft-core legend Isabel Sarli . Isabel’s skinema career may have ended decades ago, but one gander at her photos and it’s obvious why they haven’t been forgotten. The sexbombastic Ms. Sarli started her career as a model and went on to win the title of Miss Argentina 1955 before her career took a very sensual turn in the films La Diosa impura (1963), Desnuda en la arena (1969), Fuego (1969), Fiebre (1970), and more. She even had the distinction of becoming the first Argentinean actress to do full frontal nudity on film, and in spite of censorship and persecution went on to became an international star. She’s everyone’s favorite Golden Girl, but at 90 and more popular than ever, she’s a bona fide It Girl as well. Most stars peak early on. White probably still hasn’t. REVIEW: Leading Ladies Lift Lovely Letters to Juliet

Gary Winick’s Letters to Juliet is such a gentle romantic comedy that it barely feels like a romantic comedy at all, at least not in the way we currently define the genre. There’s no Amy Adams hilariously slipping through the mud in her high heels, no Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey uproariously pretending not to like each other as they traipse around some tropical island in their shorts, no dueling brides catfighting about who’s going to have her dream wedding at the Plaza on a specific day. Letters to Juliet also has the distinction of featuring a marvelous performance from the woman who is, in my view, our greatest living actress.
