He needs more people. Teacher Denies Saying Racist Anti-Obama Remark He should have known better and watched what he said…now his job is on the line. SMH. According to Raw Story: An Ohio teacher tried to clarify remarks Thursday that he made to a student about his presidential aspirations as he fights to retain his job. Gil Voigt, a science teacher at Fairfield Freshman High School, flatly denied telling a student in December that “the country doesn’t need another black president,” as the teen had claimed. “Absolutely not,” Voigt told WLWT-TV. “I said, as the individuals were leaving the class, and I heard one of the individuals talk about wanting to be president, I said, ‘Let’s hope we don’t need another president like Obama, whether he’s black or white. We need somebody in the White House who can lead us in a different direction.’” “It was after school,” he said. “It was unstructured. It’s after the school day. It’s nothing more than if I was walking down the hall with somebody and we were talking about a certain issue.” Voigt said he doesn’t know why the student would accuse him of making a racist statement, although he admits he was reprimanded in 2008 for an “inappropriate racial comment” he made to a student who was sleeping in class. “I didn’t attack anybody individually,” he said. “It was an opinionated statement. I didn’t make any racial jokes. I didn’t curse. I’m fighting for clearance of my name.” This guy was already reprimanded for racist remarks before. How cute… Children Channel African-American Achievers For Black History Month Photographer Eunique Jones solicited the help of a few young faces to pay homage to some notable African-American achievers for Black History Month . via Miss Jia This just might be one of the cutest things I have seen in a long time. Photographer, Eunique Jones, launched an amazing campaign in honor of Black History Month, showcasing a famous figure for each day of February with the help of some adorable children. As a motivational speaker and a photographer, I recently realized that my lens can also be my microphone. For Black History Month, I wanted to create a campaign that would empower and excite young people about their history and their future in a creative and yet relatable way. I thought about my two sons and how they were both born during President Barack Obama’s election and re-election. How awesome is that?! From there, I began to think about all of the individuals, past and current, who have and/or continue to blaze new trails and pave the way for the future. Because of Them, We Can. Too adorable! Some Black History Month Preciousness: Toddlers Pay Homage To African-American Achievers

Following the Jerry Sandusky conviction and the subsequent independent investigation that shed light on just how involved Joe Paterno and Penn State officials were with the cover-up of this monster’s sex crimes, the NCAA has come down with a number of punishments. Among them: the football team must forfeit all victories between 1998-2001, meaning Paterno no longer holds the mark for most victories in Division I history. The sanctions imposed against Penn State by the NCAA include: A four-year ban on all postseason play. A reduction in scholarships – 20/season – over the course of those four years. A $60 million fine, which “must be paid into an endowment for external programs preventing child sexual abuse or assisting victims and may not be used to fund such programs at the university,” according to a NCAA statement. Said NCAA President Mark Emmert upon doling out these football-related punishments: “We cannot look to NCAA history to determine how to handle circumstances so disturbing, shocking and disappointing. As the individuals charged with governing college sports, we have a responsibility to act. These events should serve as a call to every single school and athletics department to take an honest look at its campus environment and eradicate the ‘sports are king’ mindset that can so dramatically cloud the judgment of educators.”

Don’t be surprised if she ask, “where the cash at?” Seventeen people and five “corporations” connected to a New York City escort service were indicted in Brooklyn Wednesday, charged with running a high-price prostitution and drug ring. The alleged racket earned more than $7 million in three years, catering to high-rolling customers who could drop more than $10,000 a night, according to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. The 144-count indictment includes allegations of enterprise corruption, promoting prostitution, money laundering, and criminal sale of a controlled substance against High Class NY, an escort service based in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood of Brooklyn. Among the individuals named in the documents are High Class NY’s owners: Mikhail Yampolsky; his wife, Bronislava; a son, Alexander; and a stepson, Jonathan Yampolskaya. Eleven High Class NY managers and two of the escort service’s largest financial investors, Efim Gorelik and Yakov Maystrovich, also are indicted. They could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted. “We are not going to run from this. We intend to fight these charges,” said Joseph Mure, attorney for Yampolskaya and the younger Yampolsky. The attorney’s in charge of the indictment seem to think this case has legs but we’re not so sure… Escorts, called “models,” were required to sign employment contracts prohibiting sexual contact with clients in an effort to mask the illegal nature of the business, the indictment says. “There is no such thing as a high-class pimp, and as we do with all other pimps, my office will prosecute these defendants and seek the maximum sentences available under the law,” said District Attorney Charles J. Hynes. The indictment charges the High Class NY operates several escort websites, including highclassny.com, discreteclub.com, nyadultdating.com, cupiddirect.com, and angelofyourchoice.com, in addition to advertising its services on backpage.com and craigslist.com. Well if they signed waivers stating that they will not have sex for money, then how can you say the company was a prostitution ring?? As a primetime soap opera, Desperate Housewives has remained a popular ABC show due to its sordid storylines and intriguing scenarios. But nothing that’s happened on Wisteria Lane can compare to what a former star is accusing the show’s creator of doing: in a documents filed today, Nicollette Sheridan accuses Marc Cherry of assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. According to TMZ, she’s suing him for over $20 million, stating that Cherry acted “in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show.” Specifically, Sheridan alleges that Cherry struck her across the face in 2008 . This is what supposedly went down: On September 24, the actress questioned a development in the script. According to the lawsuit, “Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head.” From there, the papers read , Cherry went to Sheridan’s trailer to “beg forgiveness.” ABC was notified of the situation, but failed to act. The suit also claims that Cherry once discovered that Teri Hatcher went behind his back to complain about him. His alleged response? ” I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies .” Soon after these incidents, plans were made to terminate Sheridan from the show. Her character was killed off last season. For now, these are nothing more than allegations. As Desperate Housewives winds down its season, though, there’s a good chance the drama behind the scenes will continue through the summer.
