Random Ridiculousness: Woman Dislocates Her Jaw While Trying To Eat Triple-Patty Burger

This makes no damn sense. Woman Dislocates Jaw While Trying To Eat Burger According to Mail Online A woman bit off more than she could chew at a burger restaurant and was left nursing a dislocated jaw. Nicola Peate’s jaw locked while she was eating the triple-patty ‘Kids in America Burger’ at Almost Famous in Liverpool. Colleagues laughed it off when the incident first happened during a work night out on and after fiance Neil finished the remainder of the burger, the pair made their way home – oblivious to the seriousness of the injury. But by the time Nicola, 25, arrived at work the next day, the pain had become unbearable. She said: ‘I didn’t think I’d dislocated it – you don’t expect it to happen eating a burger. ‘But I tried to eat it with a knife and fork and couldn’t. I couldn’t open my mouth fully. ‘It felt like I had cramp in my tongue, then I started to get an ear ache and a headache. ‘The next morning I woke up and felt really, really ill. The whole side of my head was hurting. ‘Then it started to feel like it was in my jaw and I knew I’d dislocated it.’ An x ray in the Emergency Department at the Royal Liverpool Hospital confirmed Nicola’s fears and a doctor quickly manipulated her jaw back into place using his thumbs. ‘The minute it went back in it was like turning a tap off in my head,’ Nicola remembered. ‘All the tension just went.’ Nicola has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), which means she has hyper-flexible joints that are unstable and therefore prone to dislocation, so she has visited many hospitals over the years. The clinical director of the Royal’s Emergency Department Kathryn Clark said: ‘Thankfully, incidents such as this are rare but our staff are very experienced in diagnosing and correcting dislocations. ‘I hope that in future, she takes more care when eating over-sized burgers. ‘If food is too large, we would recommend cutting it into more manageable chunks, particularly if you have Elhers-danlos syndrome.’ A spokeswoman for Almost Famous invited Nicola to enjoy a burger on them – complete with an emergency kit including cutlery and painkillers should she need it. She said: While it’s something that people joke about quite often, this is definitely the first instance of jaw dislocation as a result of an Almost Famous burger we’ve ever heard of.’ They should have left her jaw broke for being so stupid.

I’m Amy, a 15 year old belieber from London. I’ve tried to…

I’m Amy, a 15 year old belieber from London. I’ve tried to meet Justin so many times, but always failed. First time was the 28th of November 2010, when Justin was performing on X Factor. Me and my friend made banners saying ‘UK BELIEBERS HERE!’  When we got there, there were loads of other girls, we knew we didn’t stand a chance. One of the security guards even lied to us and said he was there already and wasn’t coming back out. He was just trying to get us to leave. Then it started to snow, it got painfully cold and a lot of us ended up crying because it was unbearable! Us two didn’t even have coats! Just as we were about to give up and go back to the train station, the security started pushing us all back and made sure none of us were on the road. We all stood up, knowing what was happening. Justin’s car drove past! We just got a glimpse of him , but the security wouldn’t let him come back out because there were too many of us. Even though we were disappointed not to have met him, we were really happy to have at least seen him in person! In December 2010, my dad said he found tickets for a CD signing of his, I was so happy, I honestly thought I was going to meet him. My dad was just about to buy them, but our computer crashed. When we got it up and running again, it was all sold out. I was so upset. After that, I tried a few more times, then just decided to accept that I was never going to meet him, until August 29th 2012, when someone tweeted about his book signing in London. I didn’t get my hopes up because I never had any luck when it came to meeting Justin. I tried but it said they were all sold out. I told my dad and he said he’d already got me one. I fell to the ground and burst into tears. I thought he was joking at first, but he was being serious! On September 12th, I got to the ‘secret location.’ I ended up waiting in the que for 4 hours before I got to go up and meet him. I was shaking so much but tried to hold it together and not cry. When it was my turn to go up to the signing table, I couldn’t talk. He looked up at me and said ‘Hey babe!’ and smiled. Justin Bieber had called me babe…I smiled back and shakily said ‘Hey justin, can I have a hug please?’ but the security said no. He gave me a sympathetic smile and the security made me leave. As soon as I left, I cried my eyes out. I was still crying on the train on the way home! I had people coming up to me asking if I was okay! It was honestly the most amazing experience of my life, and I hope that every belieber out there gets a chance to meet him. Even if you don’t succeed the first time, try and try again, because it’ll all turn out right in the end. Never say never -@Amy_BieberX More here: I’m Amy, a 15 year old belieber from London. Jay-Z Throws A Carnival For College Kids’ Scholarships

Jay’s foundation set up the Ferris wheel in New York on Thursday to raise funds for university-bound students’ scholarships. By Steven Roberts with reporting by Rob Markman Jay-Z at “Making The Ordinary Extraordinary” in New York City Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage NEW YORK — On Thursday night, Jay-Z hosted a carnival at the Hudson River Park pier for his Shawn Carter Foundation . But it wasn’t all Ferris wheels and funnel cakes — unfortunately Momofuku doesn’t make those. The event was called Making Ordinary Extraordinary, and it sought to raise funds for college scholarships. MTV News caught up with Mr. Carter at the event, where he said the evening was about having fun while raising money for a good cause. Jay said two of the worst things in life are a waste of talent and a person who applies him- or herself but is unable to advance due to financial hardship. He hoped this foundation would help ease such burdens and assist people in recognizing their potential. “Just providing opportunity and seeing what people do with that opportunity. If you want to go further and you want to further your education, just giving someone that extra little push [so] that maybe you’ll turn out to be someone special,” Jay said. Jay and his mother, Gloria Carter, started the foundation in 2002 to help those facing socioeconomic difficulties further their education at institutions of higher learning. The foundation started with one student earning a full ride through college and grew to offer 50 scholarships to students in 50 different states annually from 2003 to 2005. More than 750 students have been awarded scholarships totaling in excess of $1.1 million, and nearly 500 kids have taken part in the foundation’s college tours — some even rode the bus with Jay’s mom. “My mom has been running this for a number of years,” said Jay. “My mom gets on the bus and takes the kids and takes them to their orientations and she’s been riding around the college. It’s a real grassroots thing that she’s been doing on her own, and I’m just really trying to help her expand it so we can help more people. It started out as a Brooklyn thing, and then it started as a New York thing, and now hopefully we can take it to a worldwide thing.” Related Artists Jay-Z
