Wait What?: PlayStation Will Not Be Showing Anything At E3 2019

Source: FREDERIC J. BROWN / Getty It officially has been five years since Sony blessed us with the PlayStation 4 console. On top of celebrating the PS4, the company dropped the bombshell that it would not have a presence at E3 2019. Wait a minute here. A Sony rep confirmed the surprising news to Polygon  explaining that the company is looking for ways to “innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers.” Per Polygon: “As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community “PlayStation fans mean the world to us, and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you.” Sony and PlayStation’s absence will be the first time in the convention’s 24-year history. Sony wowed gamers back in May 1995 at the first ever E3 Conference when it announced the U.S. launch date and price for the first PlayStation console . Despite Sony’s surprising absence, Microsoft, Nintendo as well as publishers like Activision, Ubisoft, Take-Two and more are already committed to E3 2019. As you can imagine the speculation as to why Sony decided not to attend has gamers believing that the company will be holding its own conference and will possibly be dropping a major bomb in the form of the PS5. In case you missed the screaming/hypothesizing on Kinda Funny Games Daily, PlayStation skipping #E32019 has blown my mind. It's bold, confident, and crazy. I think it means they're going to do their own event after E3 and come with megaton after megaton culminating in PS5. pic.twitter.com/OqQQJ7PQSB — Greg Miller (@GameOverGreggy) November 15, 2018 We also believe that as well, but E3 will be a little dry without PlayStation. For the past couple of years, they have been bringing the excitement each year, so Sony’s absence is a gut punch for those looking forward to E3 2019. This is the second event PlayStation has canceled. The annual PlayStation Experience event the company holds at the beginning of December has been put on ice as well. This story is still developing. — Photo: FREDERIC J. BROWN / Getty

Kim Kardashian to Resurface on New Year’s Eve

We already know that Kim Kardashian will not be spending the holidays with Michael Buble . So where will this soon-to-be-divorced socialite turn up around Christmas? She’ll once again host a New Year’s Eve party at TAO nightclub in Las Vegas, a source confirms, the same locale that featured Kim’s infamous live performance of “Turn It Up” a year ago. Relive it now, if you dare: Kim Kardashian – Turn It Up (Live in Vegas) An insider tells Us Weekly that TAO is Kim’s “home away from home when she’s in Vegas,” and that this may actually be the next time we see the reality star in a public forum. “Kim cancelled the whole rest of her year and is just going to spend time with them relaxing, taking some much needed time off,” the friend says. Of course, that’s not exactly true. The second season of Kourtney & Kim Take New York premieres on November 28 and E! is already publicizing the episodes with a focus on Kardashian’s split from Kris Humphries . There is simply no getting away from this woman.

Kate Middleton: Trying to Get Pregnant?

Is Kate Middleton pregnant? We doubt it, given photo and anecdotal evidence . Is she trying to get pregnant? That we cannot say with the same certainty! “There have been reports to the contrary worldwide, but the fact is that the Duchess of Cambridge is not pregnant,” insisted a royal aide close to Prince William and Kate Middleton. “Does she hope to be soon? I should say so.” So … does that mean what we think it means? Possibly not. There’s another factor that could delay any royal family expansion. “Prince William will be on active military duty in the Falkland Islands early next year, and there is no earthly way he would be assigned 8,000 miles from home if the Duchess of Cambridge were expecting,” explained a second palace insider . That does make sense, to wait until the timing is right. But the first source insists the time is right now: “Wouldn’t it be wonderful, in this era of economic gloom, for an announcement to come shortly? I think it would be a terrific morale booster for the whole country,” he teased, half-seriously … no pressure whatsoever, Kate Middleton . Amusingly, the source added this, re: the official announcement: “There are not going to be leaks. There will be an announcement from Kensington Palace. Trust me, this is not going to be the sort of announcement that will be pre-empted by anyone hacking royal mobile phone voice messages.” Well played, Palace insider. Well played. [Photo: WENN.com]

‘Harry Potter’ Finale Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

Before saying goodbye to the series, check out our handy guide. By Terri Schwartz Daniel Radcliffe in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Photo: Warner Bros. It all ends Friday (July 15), as “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” marks the last time a “Harry Potter” movie will premiere in theaters. Almost a decade ago, MTV News was writing about how “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” had beaten Eminem’s “8 Mile” at the box office and about the exciting news that Gary Oldman, known as Count Dracula at the time, had joined the cast of “Prisoner of Azkaban.” Our news coverage of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” began three years ago with the announcement that the big-screen adaptation of the final “Potter” novel would be split into two movies, and it’s strange to think that after all that time the film series has finally come to an end. To honor all the time we’ve spent covering “Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” we’re taking a trip into the MTV News archives to cover the entire history of the flick for our latest MTV News cheat sheet. Filming the Final Parts MTV News caught up with leading man Daniel Radcliffe in late 2009 when the cast was knee-deep in shooting both “Deathly Hallows” films, and he said that the set was “absolutely madness.” That makes sense considering the combined running time of both movies is around five hours and they feature some of the most emotional and climactic moments in the entire series. Radcliffe dreaded shooting the big scene where he walks into the forest to face Voldemort, while Tom Felton was really looking forward to filming the epilogue. When he finally did shoot the scene, Felton was lucky enough to have his real-life girlfriend Jade Olivia play his onscreen wife . But it was the final battle sequences that were most emotional for co-stars Evanna Lynch and Bonnie Wright , the former of whom was brought to tears by the scenes on set. Robbie Coltrane agreed with them, saying that they were among his favorite scenes in the movie. Composer Alexandre Desplat was chosen to create the score for the final film, and he chatted with MTV News about his creative process. Finally, on June 14, 2010, filming on the “Harry Potter” set wrapped for the last time . The Decision to Shoot 3-D But production wasn’t done yet. In keeping with the popular cinematic trend, the creative team behind “Deathly Hallows” decided to post-convert the film to 3-D . Producer David Heyman spoke to MTV News during 3-D week and said he was optimistic about the change, adding that he thought the films would be “even more epic” in 3-D. “Deathly Hallows, Part 1” didn’t end up getting converted in time, so “Part 2” marks the first time a “Harry Potter” movie has been released entirely in 3-D. There is also the hope that all the “Harry Potter” films could be converted to 3-D and receive a re-release. Getting the Epilogue Right Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and the cast of young stars who played the next generation of wizards were brought together again months after filming ended to reshoot the pivotal epilogue scene because the original scene that was filmed was not considered to be good enough. Felton was lucky enough to have his first time filming be done up to par, though, so he and Olivia did not have to shoot a new scene. A few other new stars, including Kelly Macdonald of “Boardwalk Empire,” were cast in roles that had to be added in post-production and became the final few castmembers to join the “Harry Potter” franchise. An early cut of “Deathly Hallows, Part 2” was screened to fans in February and was received well, reducing many viewers to tears. Radcliffe’s response to that news? “Good!” The Trailers Arrive The first “Deathly Hallows” trailer hit the Web on June 28, 2010, and it teased both of the final “Harry Potter” installments. It would be 10 more months before a trailer specific to “Part 2” premiered , and then new trailers came fast and furiously. Warner Bros. released one of the opening scenes from “Deathly Hallows, Part 2” back in April, and then MTV was able to premiere an exclusive clip from “Part 2” during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards that was received well by fans. Saying Goodbye to “Potter” The “Harry Potter” films have been released over the course of a decade, so it’s no surprise that the stars of the franchise are finding it hard to say goodbye. Watson planned on having a “really big brunch” after the last New York “Potter” premiere, while Grint walked out of the London premiere screening because the movie was too emotional for him. But the man finding it hardest to say goodbye is Radcliffe, who plays the series’ namesake. “I think that we proved in doing ‘Potter’ that you can bring integrity and perpetual growth to a franchise. It doesn’t have to be a law of diminishing returns after the first film comes out,” Radcliffe reflected to MTV News . Evanescence’s ‘Lost In Paradise’: Hear A Preview Now!

In our third and final sneak peek, Evanescence get unapologetically epic. By James Montgomery Evanescence’s Amy Lee Photo: MTV News The first time MTV News spoke to Amy Lee about Evanescence’s upcoming album , she made a point of explaining exactly why the disc would be self-titled. Namely, because “it’s about the band. “It’s more of a band record,” she continued. “But I started thinking about it, and it’s also that this whole record and the lyrical content and a lot of the things that it’s about to me is about falling back in love with this thing, with Evanescence, with what I’ve obsessed over for a decade, longer than that.” And throughout the week, as we’ve unveiled sneak peeks at the songs on the album — roaring first single “What You Want” and the equally voluminous “The Other Side” — she continued to mention that the new tunes were very much full band creations: the result of endless back-and-forth between her and her mates. But our third and final sneak peek is a little different. Because though “Lost in Paradise” features plenty of contributions from the other members of Evanescence, it is very much Amy Lee’s song. And the emotional attachment she feels to it is readily apparent. “That’s the one that made us cry … like, literally, just in here, working on it, there have been tears. I love that song,” she told MTV News. “When I was writing it, it wasn’t anything; it was just pure, it was just for me. I was literally just writing it for me, to soothe my own feelings by expressing them. And I just thought, ‘Piano, vocals, I can record it by myself at my house, and that’ll be the track. … It’ll be a B-side somewhere or something.’ “[But] then … as we were working on other songs — focusing more on rock songs — I kept listening to it for fun, because it was mine, and I sent it to [producer] Nick [Raskulinecz] and I was like, ‘I want you to listen to this. … The more I listen to it, the more I think it means something,’ ” she continued. “And he, instantly, was like, ‘We have to do that song.’ And it was his idea to bring the band into it, and at first, I was totally like, ‘I don’t get that.’ But once we did, it just blew the thing wide open, in a way I had never thought about before. It’s perfect; it’s meant to be the way it is.” Starting with little more than a somber piano and Lee’s aching vocals, “Paradise” slowly builds, layering on stirring strings, booming timpani and, at the climax, some thunderous guitar chords. It is unapologetically epic and uncompromisingly raw, a song that manages to seem both all-encompassing and intimate, often at the same time. And because of that, it brings to mind rather unexpected comparisons to Bj

Sophie Monk Does the Pregnancy Cover-Up Pose of the Day

Here is Sophie Monk rubbing up on Santa Claus like he was one of the Good Charlotte sisters because I guess she misses the touch of another man, or maybe because ever has fond memories of a man dressed in a Santa suit sneaking in her bedroom late on Christmas Eve, only to take off her little panties and have his way with her, telling her not to tell anyone, because it was their little secret because she’s been such a good girl all year and she’s Santa’s favorite, not realizing that it was just her creepy dad molesting her on the one night he knew he could get away with it, since everyone knows Santa doesn’t exist and her story would lose all credibility before it started..or maybe it is because the dude in the Santa suit is the Executive General Manager of V Airlines and she figures she’ll be able to fly home for cheap anytime she needs when she has no money cuz she can’t get work cuz she’s in with him….and none of this is the point of the post… The point of the post is that my photographer friend told me that when you see someone in this stance, with their hands on their hips and elbows pointed outwards, they are trying to hide the fact that they gained weight. It’s like people see their elbows and ignore their waistline. It is the oldest trick in the fucking book to make themselves look thinner, to hide the fact that they have a gut, thanks to a Good Charlotte internal cumshot that’s left a baby growing inside them that they refuse to abort because they think it means security, stability and it is the best revenge for him leaving her for Paris Hilton before crawling back to her one lonely night in Australia… Pics via Bauer

I’m not sure what that means, but I think it means I like her or at least like her outfit….
