Chelsea Lately to End in August

The end of Chelsea Lately is nigh. Both E! and Chelsea Handler confirmed yesterday that the talk show will wrap up its seven-year run with an hour-long live special at 11/10c on August 26. “We are very proud of Chelsea Lately’s long-running success and the unique space that the series carved out in late-night television,” E! President Suzanne Kolb said in a statement.   “Chelsea brought a distinct voice to late night with her acerbic wit and fearless commentary and we look forward to providing fans with a memorable send-off that lives up to that tradition.” “Most of all, we are grateful to the Chelsea Lately team for making this show so special for seven years.” Handler, known for her open views on sex and casual interview style, added: “I myself am more surprised than anyone that I was able to hold down a job for seven years, and it was a fantastic seven years.” “I will always look back at my time on E! as most people look back at their time in college. I’m glad I went.” Many believe Handler is headed to CBS to take over for a departing Craig Ferguson . Many others believe there’s no way that network would go near such a controversial figure. Either way… we’ll miss Khloe Kardashian serving as Chelsea Lately guest host. Khloe Kardashian Jokes About Justin Bieber and More Khloe Kardashian Guest Hosts Chelsea Lately

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald: Already Engaged?

The chemistry between 19 Kids & Counting star Jessa Duggar and her boyfriend, Ben Seewald, got a lot of attention on this week’s episode of the TLC show. While Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, whose full-frontal hug and courtship rules violation got a lot of media attention, eyes were also on Jessa and Ben. Specifically: Are they already following in Jill and Derick’s footsteps? Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald The 21-year-old Duggar daughter recently started her own accounts on Twitter and Instagram, listing herself as “Jessa Seewald.” Yes, Seewald. Does that mean she’s already engaged – or even married – to Ben? Jessa only joined social media so that she could interact with him, apparently, as the sweet duo have done nothing but post cute selfies together. It’s clear that Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are in love, regardless of relationship status or whether they’re saving their first kiss for marriage (they are). Her use of the Seewald name aside, they’re likely not engaged. Yet. Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Interview Not because they don’t want to be, necessarily. They likely do. But because Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard (above) set to wed on June 21, and that’s right around the corner, it would take the spotlight off of her. They’re likely waiting until after that to announce anything. Since her older sister is planning to wed soon, we’d imagine Jessa and Ben are holding off on an official engagement so that they don’t overshadow Jill. Family first. SO Many Duggars 1. A Duggar Family Pic Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are still working on that 20th kid.

Brett Loewenstern Stands Up To Bullies During ‘American Idol’ Tryout

‘I’m done with being a victim,’ redheaded standout says after sailing to the next Hollywood Week round. By Adam Graham Brett Loewenstern Photo: FOX Even if the name Brett Loewenstern doesn’t mean anything to you yet, his face certainly does: He’s the 16-year-old red-haired singer viewers were first introduced to during the New Orleans “American Idol” auditions. You might as well go ahead and get used to him, because he’s going to be around a bit longer: On Thursday’s (February 10) episode of “Idol,” Loewenstern made one more sizable leap toward achieving his dream, as the Boca Raton, Florida, native coasted through his Hollywood Week audition. His biggest obstacle was his own nerves: “I’m shaking in my pants right now, I’m not gonna lie,” he told the judges as one of the first contestants to take the audition stage. Then those jitters melted away, as Loewenstern won the judges over with his passionate, restrained rendition of the Beatles’ “Let It Be.” “That boy’s got the blues!” Jennifer Lopez said following his song. And he has reason to: Loewenstern again stressed the bullying and teasing he’s faced in the past and looked at his “Idol” victory as the next step in overcoming those painful scars. “I would like to say to the people that tried to bring me down: Bully me, backstab me, whatever. No negativity anymore. I’m done with being a victim.” Fanning himself as he stepped off the stage, he said he was appreciative of the opportunity in front of him and that he’s going to use it to “shine.” Do you think Loewenstern will make it all the way to the live shows? Let us know in the comments! Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.
