Lauren Conrad, Dominic Monaghan, Conan O’Brien weigh in on show’s long-awaited finale. By MTV News Staff The cast of “Lost” Photo: ABC There were things going on in the world on Sunday night apart from the “Lost” series finale . Bret Michaels won on “Celebrity Apprentice,” “Shrek Forever After” topped the box office, and the Mets and Yankees faced off at Citi Field. But for many people, the only thing worth discussing is “Lost.” Celebs from Jessica Simpson and Lauren Conrad to Neil Patrick Harris and Sarah Silverman were tuned in for the “Lost” extravaganza and tweeting about it the whole time. “Powerful ending of ‘Lost,’ ” Jessica Simpson tweeted . “Wow. Incredibly beautiful! Cried so many times in the last 5hrs of ABC LOST TV!” Lauren Conrad tweeted , “Who’s watching the ‘Lost’ finale? It’s like X-mas. You can’t wait for it to finally be here, but u don’t want it to be over!” That’s exactly how “Lost” star Dominic Monaghan was feeling about the show. “Sad to say goodbye to ‘LOST,’ but hoping fans have enjoyed the adventure,” he wrote. Neil Patrick Harris certainly enjoyed the ride. “I haven’t read the reviews, don’t know the consensus. But I watched the @LOST finale last night, and I loved it! Bravo cast/crew/creators!” “Twilight” saga co-star Chaske Spencer agreed with the sentiment, and started to mourn a future without the mysterious island in his life. “I can’t believe LOST is over!” he wrote. Christopher Mintz-Plasse took in the Celtics-Magic basketball game earlier in the evening — “I am going to go get my Rondo on, so no one ruin the last Lost for me!!! I will watch it tomorrow. Holy b—s, it is almost done,” he wrote — but caught up with the action later. “Craziness. ‘Lost’ finale. Well done,” he wrote later, adding, “I feel a little incomplete knowing I won’t be watching anymore new ‘Lost’ episodes. Man, that finale was a little too touching.” How to battle those “Lost” blues? Series exec producer Damon Lindelof has some ideas. “Remember,” he said. “Let go. Move on. I will miss it more than I can ever say.” Sarah Silverman , meanwhile, had some kind word for Lindelof and his team. “I can’t tell if I’m crying because it was beautiful or because I’m sad it’s over,” wrote the comedian. “Thank you ‘LOST’ for 6 amazing years.” And then there were those celebs who hadn’t made the six-year “Lost” commitment. “Please don’t tell me how ‘Lost’ ended last night,” tweeted Conan O’Brien . “I’m up to the part where they discover a hatch.” What did you think of the finale? When is an animated movie that opens with $71 million — thus making it one of the four best animated openings in history — considered a humongous disappointment? When it’s Shrek Forever After . Guess people really didn’t like that one, huh? Dig up your most dated cultural reference and get ready for some weekend receipts.
