Yogi Berra died of natural causes during his sleep at an assisted living facility in West Caldwell, New Jersey, on September 22, 2015—69 years to the day after his MLB debut. To honor Berra, the Yankees added an “8” patch to their uniforms, and the Empire State Building was lit with blue and white vertical “pinstripes”. Penn State Uniforms to Feature Names, Blue Ribbons

Penn State football uniforms will look different in 2012. The iconic navy blue jerseys will feature player names on the back for the first time, along with blue ribbons to support victims of child abuse. The decision to add names was made “in recognition of (their) resolve and dedication to the team and the university,” according to a statement. The blue ribbons speak for themselves. Penn State uniforms have been widely known for their simple design and lack of a name across the back, but this is a different program now. Coach Bill O’Brien said in May that the uniforms wouldn’t change from the design favored by Joe Paterno, but apparently had a change of heart. The fallout from the Jerry Sandusky scandal was immense as a committee found Joe Paterno and Penn State culpable as well as the child molester himself. The university’s statue of the coaching legend, now deceased, has been torn down. In 2012, the uniforms will further signal a new era at PSU.

With all of the hoopla over the impending rapture tomorrow it was nice to come across someone speaking about religion in a way that the common person can relate to. Mike Bigga (formerly Killer Mike) released his latest album PL3DGE on Tuesday and it definitely earns a slot in our “Best Albums of 2011..So far” list. One song in particular that stands out to me is “God Is In The Building 2″, the follow up to “ God Is In The Building” from I Pledge Allegiance To The Grind 2 . While the entire song is rewind worthy the first verse is timely given the trending topic of the day. It’s hot like Haiti down in Hades/ The false prophet say the Lord has forsaken us Black babies/ To make it off a island in Mercedes/ We gone sell it white as Michelangelo’s Christ/ babies need rice The baby need beans/ to feed our babies beans we might have to flip a bean I have sold my people dope/ yet provided them with hope/sinner and  saint/ Yeah, I did ‘em both Yea I sold a brick/ on a basketball court/ and bought the uniforms for the basketball coach Can’t wash a way the blood so I put rings on my fingers/  25 carats symbolize my redeemer And my redeemer’s blood is/ capable of taking Chris Dudus making him a savior of others My God will take a Sual (and) Fashion (Form) him a Pual/ so only God can judge me/  and to hell with all ya’ll. This was the brief the design students at Elisava school in Barcelona received by Urbaser , a local waste collection and urban cleaning company. Not only were they asked to design useful products for the company’s employees out of their old uniforms, they also had to come up with designs that would use all of the pieces of the uniforms; leaving nothing behind.The Elisava students presented their work in an exhibition called “
