A Gallery Of Crazy Sports-Related Riots There’s been a lot of talk over the last few days about how “out of control” some people have gotten across the country i n response to the grand jury decision not to charge murderer Darren Wilson for gunning down unarmed teenager Mike Browm. But the truth is, people have “rioted” for much less and gotten away with it free of heavy criticism or media scrutiny. Looting, rioting and damaging property or causing harm to innocent people is never ok in any circumstance, but it’s also interesting (to say the least) how some forms of this behavior are all but accepted depending on the circumstances. Take, for instance, this video of students reacting to former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno being fired in the wake of his long-time assistant coach Jerry Sandusky being indicted for sexually young boys on the campus for decades. As we previously reported, Matthew — who stepped up during the legal proceedings, admitting that he too was a victim — said he nearly killed himself out of the despair and grief associated with the longtime abuse. In the chat, Matthew also addresses claims made by his adopted mother Dottie decrying his claims, saying he was motivated by money. The interview will air live on OWN on July 17th at 9pm EST. Dina Lohan has even more in common with her troubled daughter Lindsay now, pleading guilty to DWI in a courtroom this morning on Long Island. The momager mess entered pleas of guilty to both aggravated DWI and speeding, and sources say Lohan must do 100 hours of community service. She is expected to have her driver’s license suspended as a result of the conviction and an interlock device will be installed in her vehicle ASAP. If she’s not clean, the car won’t start. Probably for the best. The Lohan matriarch must attend a mandatory drinking and driving program, a victim impact panel and also pay the necessary fines and fees. As previously reported, Dina Lohan was arrested in September and a test showed she had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit in New York State. Chris Kattan now has something in common with Justin Bieber . Aside from each being unfunny on Saturday Night Live. The actor was arrested this morning on suspicion of DUI after his car hit another vehicle around 1 a.m. on the 101 in San Fernando Valley. According to TMZ insiders, another driver called the California Highway Patrol to report a motorist was “weaving all over the roadway at slow speeds” before Kattan reportedly swerved into a closed-off area and stuck a Department of Transportation vehicle from behind. Fortunately, there was no one inside and Kattan did not suffer any injuries. Police confirm that Kattan appeared very out of it at the scene and was booked on charges of driving while impaired, with an emphasis on prescription pills, not alcohol. February 14 will not mean chocolate, teddy bears and hand-holding for Justin Bieber. Not this year. The South Florida legal system has set Valentine’s Day as the singer’s arraignment date. He will answer to charges of DUI , resisting arrest and driving with an expired license on that date. Justin Bieber Arrested “Justin doesn’t have to be there,” says Ed Griffith, a Miami state attorney’s office spokesman. “He will plead not guilty and the process will begin.” The 19-year old star is currently on vacation with friends (and Chantel Jeffries !) in Panama and will have his case heard by Miami-Dade Judge William Altfield in the County Criminal Division. Bieber (along with R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff) were booked on Thursday after allegedly drag racing on a residential street, although new reports claim they weren’t going THAT fast… nor were they legally drunk. But those are issues for a court to decide. For the first time since his arrest in Miami early yesterday morning, Justin Bieber has spoken out. And managed to sound both confusing and totally pompous in the process. The 19-year old artist took to Instagram this afternoon and posted a photo of himself sitting atop a car moments after he made bail and left prison . He then posted a picture of Michael Jackson making a similar gesture alongside it and wrote as a caption: “What more can they say.” Ummm… we have no idea, Justin. What more can they say? Perhaps that you should be more humble after getting pulled over for drunk driving, while speeding on an expired license? Jerry Sandusky Sex Abuse Victims To Receive $60 Million From Penn State Although former pervy Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky is already serving up to 60 years in prison for sexually abusing multiple underaged boys, yet another wave of justice has been served as 26 of the victims are set to receive a massive payout courtesy of the University. via Fox News Penn State has announced that it is paying $59.7 million to 26 young men to settle claims of child sexual abuse at the hands of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. The university said it had concluded negotiations that have lasted about a year. The school said 23 deals are fully signed and three are agreements in principle. The school faces six other claims, and the university says it believes some do not have merit while others may produce settlements. “We hope this is another step forward in the healing process for those hurt by Mr. Sandusky, and another step forward for Penn State,” University President Rodney Erickson said in a statement released Monday. “We cannot undo what has been done, but we can and must do everything possible to learn from this and ensure it never happens again at Penn State.” No amount of monetary compensation can undo what these men endured, but $60 million surely can’t hurt either.
