One point separated first-place Katherine Jenkins from William Levy and Donald Driver at the end of Monday’s Dancing With the Stars performances . Each finalist earned another 30 from one more routine on Tuesday’s finale, but the votes were in, and that Mirror Ball already had one name on it. That name was Donald Driver. The Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver was named the winner of the 14th season, making pro Peta Murgatroyd a first-time champion. “Amazing! This is awesome!” Donald said when asked how he felt. His competitors, not surprisingly, took their defeat in stride, and with class. William and Cheryl Burke finished in third place. “It was an amazing experience,” said the Cuban actor. “I thank you guys for all you have done for us.” “I’m going to miss all of you guys, I love you!” Jenkins and Mark Ballas were the runners-up. Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd – Freestyle (DWTS Week 10) “Thank you so much, Mark, you’ve been… I can’t put into words how much I’ve loved this,” the ever-gracious Katherine Jenkins said in defeat. “And thank you to everybody who’s had me on the show. It’s been an absolute dream, thank you.” “Congratulations, my man,” Mark Ballas said. Driver’s win makes eight for men in 14 seasons. Donald is also the third NFL pro to win after Emmitt Smith and Hines Ward, last season’s champ. What do you think? Did Donald deserve it?

‘I love the effect she has on people,’ KStew tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: Universal Despite their obvious differences both onscreen and off, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron have formed a bond during the filming of “Snow White and the Huntsman” and even more so during the current press tour in support of the film. When MTV News caught up with Stewart recently, we asked her to compare the familiar scenario of doing interviews with her longtime “Twilight” co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner versus her new castmate, the lovely Ms. Theron. “When Rob, Taylor and I do interviews together, they usually don’t actually ask us anything. We just get to hang out and people like to watch that,” Stewart said with a laugh. “It’s fine, because I like hanging out with those guys, but it is weird. With Charlize, it’s been great, because we’re so proud of the movie and we actually only worked together for three days, so we got to know each other probably more or at least on a certain level during press, and it’s been nice. It’s been fun.” Stewart said she especially admires Theron’s ability to light up a room with her energy and humor. “Some people intimidate you. Some people’s energy is so big you feel like you don’t fit in the room, but with her, I really appreciate how different we are. I love the effect she has on people,” Stewart said. “I find it hilarious. I love watching it happen. I do not have that. Maybe I have something else, but it’s definitely not as visceral. Also, she’s really hilarious,” she added, noting that the Oscar winner uses the more colorful swear words with particular aplomb. “[She] puts me to shame, to be honest,” Stewart said. Remaining three celebrities — William Levy, Katherine Jenkins and Donald Driver — will continue competing for mirror ball trophy next week. By Kelley L. Carter Maria Menounos and Derek Hough on “Dancing With the Stars” Photo: ABC The truth is, anyone’s name could have been called to head home from ABC’s hit show “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday night and it would have been a shock. On Monday night, most of the contestants scored well with the judges. Although opera singer Katherine Jenkins has been a top performer on the show all season, she made a few missteps in one of her Monday night performances — and subsequently beat herself up about it. So folks may not have been too surprised to hear her name called as this week’s eliminated dancer. Instead, it was one of the night’s top scorers who got the boot. It ultimately came down to TV journalist Maria Menounos and her partner Derek Hough and NFL star Donald Driver and his partner Peta Murgatroyd. Menounos was the one to go, despite having a near-perfect score on Monday night. The judges salivated over the Argentine tango she performed as her first dance, rewarding her with perfect 10s all around. For her second performance, she took on the jive, and the judges actually named her the winner of the night — and possibly the competition itself. When her name was called Tuesday night, Menounos said, “I learned so many things — how strong I was, to persevere … I want to thank everyone here. I want to thank Derek and my family and everyone who voted for us.” Next week, the remaining three celebrities — Latin heartthrob William Levy and his partner Cheryl Burke, Driver and Murgatroyd, and Jenkins and Mark Ballas will compete for the mirror ball trophy.

Levy earned a perfect score on Monday night’s show; two contestants will be eliminated tonight. By Kelley L. Carter Cheryl Burke and William Levy Photo: ABC Tuesday night’s (May 8) telecast of “Dancing With the Stars” will eliminate two celebrities, so the heat was on during Monday night’s performances. And for the most part, the dancers delivered. The remaining six couples did their requisite ballroom dance and then had to come back and dance in groups of three for the second dance, which also was scored. At the top of the list was Latin soap star and heartthrob William Levy and his partner Cheryl Burke, who earned an impressive perfect score for their foxtrot. The judges thought the pair was sexy and the epitome of perfection. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told them that their performance was “like a superhot, sexy Pink Panther.” Hard-to-please head judge Len Goodman told Levy, “There was care in technique and flare in the movement!” They scored 30/30, which was added to their second dance’s score for a grand total of 57/60. Here’s how the others fared: Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower The young Disney star danced the foxtrot, and unlike in previous weeks, the judges were thoroughly impressed — and it showed in how they scored the youngest couple in the competition. Bruno Tonioli told Fegan that watching him dance was like watching a young Mickey Rooney. He added that they were like “the sweetest of sweethearts. What you’ve done in a week is incredible.” 29/30 plus the second dance score: 56/60. Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd The NFL star tangoed with his pro partner, and the judges loved how he aggressively attacked the performance. Inaba said that she wanted a bit more dramatic flair but ultimately thought that Driver was “in the zone!” 27/30 for a total of 55/60. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas The opera singer danced the Viennese waltz, and the former judges’ favorite didn’t impress them all that much this week. Still, they applauded her for her lines, while noting her mess-ups. Inaba told her, “You lost your balance. You weren’t on your footing.” 26/30 for a total of 55/60. Maria Menounos and Derek Hough The TV host danced the Viennese waltz, and the judges praised her so much that she was driven to tears. In particular, Tonioli’s comment that the performance was “heavenly fluidity” made her cry. Between wiping away tears, Menounos said, “I love this dance and I love the music. And I love dancing with him, ” referring to Hough. 28/30 for a total of 53/60. Melissa Gilbert and Maks Chmerkovskiy The actress did the foxtrot, and the judges said that her spotty footwork was worth noting. Still, Tonioli thought she kept it together more so than she has for any other performance this season. 27/30 for a total of 51/60. Following tonight’s double elimination, only four couples will be left to compete on the show next week.
