Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner & Tye Sheridan Cast as Storm, Jean Grey & Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse!

Ready to meet the next generation of X-Men? Director Bryan Singer revealed on Twitter that Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan have all been cast in key roles in X-Men: Apocalypse. They will play … Comprising the director’s trio of ” brilliant young mutants ,” Shipp will play Storm, Turner will play Jean Grey and Sheridan will play Cyclops in the movie. Shipp recently portrayed Aaliyah in the Lifetime TV movie Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B . The 23-year-old also had a recurring role on Days of Our Lives . Turner, 18, is best known for her role as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones , while Sheridan, also 18, has already put together a nice resume himself. He has acted alongside Sean Penn, Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain in The Tree of Life , and in Mud with Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon. X-Men: Apocalypse is expected to hit theaters May 26. Alexandra Shipp Takes Over as Aaliyah in Lifetime Biopic

Zendaya Coleman is out. Alexandra Shipp is in. A few weeks after  Zendaya dropped out of the upcoming Lifetime biopic based on the life and tragic death of singer Aaliyah, producer Wendy Williams has Tweeted that Ship will take her place. “I’m excited to exec produce the Aaliyah @lifetimetv movie w/ @DebraMChase. Prod starts later this month and @AlexShipppp will play Aaliyah,” Williams wrote online this morning. Zendaya came under fire as soon as she was announced Aaliyah, mostly due to her her light skin tone. The actress tried to remain above the fray, Tweeting that all she wants to do is “honor” the late artist. But the critics would not shut up. Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, will be based on the biography, Aaliyah: More Than a Woman and tell the story of a star who was killed at the age of 22 in a plane crash. Shipp, meanwhile, is best known for her role on Nickelodeon’s House of Anubis.
