My name is Claudette, I’m 15 and from Sydney, Australia. My Bieber experience started on the 26th April 2010. At 3am, my friends and I trecked it to the overseas international passengers terminal where there were already hundreds of screaming girls. We stayed there until 5am when we were told Justin wasn’t coming, which after that we sprinted to the Sunrise Studio. There were also hundreds of people there too. We were right at the front of the glass, but because I hadn’t slept for 14 hours, my friends decided I had to go home because I was about to pass out/vomit. We got home and I tried to get some sleep, but I was woken by the sound of screaming girls on TV. I looked and saw Justin performing on Sunrise! I was SO devostated that I didn’t get to see him. Eventually I accepted it and got over it. This year during Justin’s My World tour, I went on the 29th April with my 3 friends…BUT….we didn’t have tickets. We got there straight after school, about 2 hours before the concert. We found out that the concert was COMPLETELY sold out, so we walked around for 2 hours seeing if anyone had spare tickets. People did, but not enough. The concert started and we were with about 15 other people without tickets. There was one guy who kept on coming out, and he would give girls tickets. I felt like crying! Half an hour goes by, and the guy comes out again and gives more people tickets. My friends wanted to leave, they had given up but I told them NEVER SAY NEVER! About 1 hour into the concert, this guys comes back. He started talking to the security lady and I sprinted up to the glass, pressing my face against it, balling my eyes out. They point to me and my friends, then she comes to the door and tells us to come in. AT THAT MOMENT I BROKE INTO TEARS, HYSTERICALLY CRYING. IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING MOMENT OF MY LIFE. We walked into the concert just as he was getting egged! Although me missed a lot, it didn’t matter to me! FROM THAT MOMENT, JUSTIN TAUGHT ME TO NEVER SAY NEVER! After that night, I dedicated my whole weekend to finding Justin! The next day I tracked down his hotel. We walked inside and sat down. Then we heard people singing Happy Birthday. As we turned the corner, we found KENNY, RYAN AND ALFREDO! We got photos with them and sang happy birthday to Kenny. Later on I met Dan Kanter, and also Jacob Pena, who was Justin’s tutor for the tour and spent 2 hours walking around the city with him helping him buy a hat! You can see all my Bieber vids here . Justin followed me on Twittter three weeks ago! I burst into tears that night. Then Kenny tweeted + followed me and also Dan DM’d me! I honestly don’t know where my life would be right now if I didn’t have the inspiration of Justin. He has taught me so much and I will forever be a fan and I pray that he will come back to Australia sometime soon! – @claudbieberswag Read this article: My name is Claudette, I’m 15 and from Sydney, Australia….
I’ve been reading other peoples Bieber experiences for ages and I’m so excited that I can finally tell my own! I recently moved to New York City from Sydney, Australia and up to Monday 20th June, I didn’t really have any reason to be enjoying it! But that all changed when I went to Macy’s to buy Someday. After I bought the perfume, I asked the lady when the launch would be and how I could meet him. She told me the launch would be the coming Thursday and the only way I could meet him was to buy a package for $135 which included 2 Someday perfumes, a laptop case, hair mist, body lotion, and a pass to take a photo with Justin. I asked her to refund the perfume I just bought so that I could buy the package on Wednesday, but she told me it would only be available to the first 325 girls. Now I already knew that with us crazy beliebers on the case, so I would be camping out over night. The next morning I got to Macy’s and 9am and I was 4th in line so I already knew I would be meeting Justin – that alone was enough to keep me awake all night. 25 hours later running on 30 minutes of sleep, I finally got my package. Thursday 23rd June, I went back to Macy’s and ended up waiting another 5 hours in line, but I knew it would all be worth it. For ages, I’ve been trying to get Justin to follow me on Twitter, so I thought why not try to ask him in person? I knew I would freeze up and be too starstruck to speak so I wrote my Twitter name on a piece of paper to give to him. So, all up 30 hours later it was finally my turn to meet Justin and like I thought I was completely starstruck; not to mention it was extremely rushed and it was all over in 20 seconds. I handed him the piece of paper and he said, “Oh for me, thank you” I took the picture, and it was literally over before I knew it. When I was on my way to pick up my photo, a lady stopped me and asked if I would be interviewed. I was shaking, I couldn’t stop smiling and I had to say yes. After the interview she told me I was great on camera which made my day that little bit better. I got my photo and went home and I can honestly say that Thursday was the best day of my life! This sounds like a case of “when trying to off yourself goes wrong”: A despondent West Side man took a leap out of his ninth-floor window this afternoon — but was saved when he landed onto a huge pile of garbage that’s been collecting since New York’s devastating post-Christmas blizzard, officials said. Vangelis “Angelo” Icapatos, 26, apparently attempted his death leap at 12:04 p.m. from a building on W. 45th St. between 8th and 9th avenues, police said. Icapatos landed on his back and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. A worker at the building said Icapatos is a resident at the building on the ninth floor. “I can’t believe the garbage broke his fall,” said an astounded neighbor, Ingrid Suprock, 26, who lives next door. “I guess the trash saved the guy.” For the first time in a torturous week, what has been going all wrong, finally went right. Collecting trash has been piling up around the city — as sanitation workers try to catch up with snow removal that has bogged down the city since the day after Christmas. But with Mother Nature helping to melt the 20 inches that got dumped in the devastating blizzard, the city has been turning its attention to the gathering garbage — untouched since the storm. “It’s been out here all week,” Suprock said of the trash out in front of the victim’s building, and others along the block. Singer goes guerrilla for clip, which features a madcap dash around Barcelona. By James Montgomery Shakira in her music video for “Loca” Photo: Sony In her previous videos, Shakira ‘s gone global , game-set-match and, after shooting “She Wolf,” probably to the chiropractor. And now, in her new video for “Loca,” she’s gone guerrilla. Shot run-and-gun style in Barcelona last month, the “Loca” clip follows Shakira and her crew on a madcap dash around the city — including scenes shot in a public fountain and on the back of a motorcycle, which got her in hot water with local authorities. Thanks to all that, it’s a decidedly different turn from her past efforts, most of which were big-budget affairs, and all of which avoided getting her in trouble with the law. “Loca” — which features a cameo by British rapper Dizzee Rascal — is the first single off her new album, Sale El Sol (due October 19), and while the full video won’t premiere until Wednesday on MTV.com, you can watch an exclusive 30-second sneak peek right now. There’s roller skating, frolicking in a fountain, (very public) costume changes, motorcycle riding and — of course — a whole lot of hip-shaking, too. It’s sexy, cheeky and, yes, even a little bit crazy, but then again, what Shakira video isn’t? And while “Loca” may be a departure from her previous clips, what makes it great is the simple fact that none of her pop contemporaries — not even Lady Gaga — would dare try something like this. And that’s why we love her so much. But why are you reading this? Have a look at our exclusive preview of “Loca” right now, and make sure to check back on Wednesday for the full experience. Trust us, it’s worth it. Are you excited for Shakira’s “Loca” video? Let us know in the comments! Related Photos The Evolution Of: Shakira Related Artists Shakira
Photo credit by batega via flickr. In its early days, Barcelona’s Bicing seemed like an unparalleled success . With 400 stations and 3,000 of the squat, burly red-and-white bikes stationed around the city, Bicing quickly became part of Barcelona’s big city atmosphere and was enthusiastically received by inhabitants. But after five years, something scary started to happen, in addition to the vandalism and
Em will return to his hometown Thursday with Jay-Z for the Home and Home Tour. By Jayson Rodriguez Eminem in 1999 Photo: MTV News Eminem’s career has always been intertwined with the city of Detroit, and that was never more evident than during a 1999 interview with MTV News’ Kurt Loder. “Represent Detroit,” a driver shouted off camera after honking his horn to get the rapper’s attention. “A’ight, dawg,” Em responded with a wide smile across his face. Now Em will return to his hometown, with Jay-Z in tow, for he first of two shows at Comerica Park for the rappers’ Home and Home Tour . During that 1999 interview, the then-budding superstar recounted his upbringing in the Motor City, from his home being shot at to numerous robberies and relocations. At that stage in his career, Em admitted that he wasn’t physically in Detroit as much as he used to be or wanted to be. “I got up out of the city,” he explained, saying he moved to the suburbs. “I’m not really here that much. Between New York and L.A., I’m not really here. But I have somewhere to go when I am here.” Eminem withdrew from the game for a while, while dealing with his drug-dependency issues, and his return to the public eye coincided with Detroit’s economic decline. The rapper spoke out about the city’s conditions during television appearances, most notably when he visited Jimmy Kimmel and brought a number of blue-collar workers from Detroit with him to the L.A. studio. He paid homage to Detroit on his last album with “Beautiful,” filming the video in and around the city. “Tiger Stadium is being torn down, and the train station is supposed to be demolished too. This video is one of the last times anybody outside of Detroit is going to see them,” Em said about the treatment . “I wrote ‘Beautiful’ when I was really down, during a difficult time struggling with my addiction. It’s a reminder to keep your head up and to see who you really are despite what you may be going through. Now that I’ve gotten through the toughest part, I see how the song relates to Detroit, and it feels even more powerful to me.” What do you think of Eminem’s connection with Detroit? Thank Me Later track also includes an Aaliyah sample. By Jayson Rodriguez Drake Photo: Cash Money Records Drake has always had love for Aaliyah. Over the weekend, another song from the Toronto MC’s forthcoming debut, Thank Me Later, leaked online, this one featuring a sample of the later singer’s voice. “Unforgettable,” produced by Noah “40” Shebib, also features Young Jeezy. The number begins with Aaliyah softly cooing, “Let me know,” over and over, part of her refrain from “(At Your Best) You Are Love,” which was on her 1994 debut, Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. “This is really one of my dumbest flows ever, I haven’t slept in days/ And me and my latest girl agreed to go our separate ways,” Drake raps on the track. “So I’m single, thinking about what we had in ‘Missin’ You’/ But I ain’t saying I don’t got nothing for these bad bi—es, too.” Late last year, Drake tweeted a message to fans, hinting that he had an homage to the “Rock the Boat” singer in the works. “I miss Aaliyah,” the rapper wrote in December. “I hope you hear the words in my music and smile knowing you inspired them all.” Jeezy joins Drake on the number, and the two trade rhymes and co-anchor the chorus. “I’m just riding around the city with my hood on and my windows down/ Ask your girl, I’m the realest n—a she been around,” Jeezy raps on the hook. “When I pull up in something new and park it by the haters/ And when you get to talking about the greatest, I just hope that … ” “I just hope that you think about me, you think of me, you think of me,” Drake then sings. ” ‘Cause I’m trying to be unforgettable.” “Unforgettable” is the latest Thank Me Later production to pop up online, joining the Lil Wayne-assisted “Miss Me” and Drake’s first two singles, “Over” and “Find Your Love.” The star-studded track list for Drake’s debut was released last week and includes collaborations with Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. Rapper gives male ‘biological clock’ point of view on reworked track. By Jayson Rodriguez Alicia Keys Photo: Martin Oeser/ AFP/ Getty Images Maybe Drake and Alicia Keys should collaborate more often. The rapper announced earlier this week that the singer would appear on his debut album Thank Me Later ‘s opening track, the intriguing “Fireworks.” And Keys’ latest single, “Un-thinkable (I’m Ready),” on which she collaborated with Drake and his producer Noah “40” Shebib, now has a verse by the Toronto lyricist tacked on it. And the track is already gaining on Billboard ‘s Hot 100 chart. On Wednesday (May 19), New York jock DJ Enuff posted Drake’s remix of “Un-thinkable” on his website, ThatsEnuff.com . In his verse, which kicks off the remix, Drake takes a different twist on the ticking biological clock, addressing it from a man’s perspective by using conversations he’s had with his and Lil Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant. “Tez keeps telling me he just turned 30/ Having dreams of being single forever, he’s getting worried,” Drake raps. “And I’m scared too, ’cause I’m in the same boat/ Good women are rare too, none of them ever came close/ Me, I haven’t changed much, you know how I play it/ Better safe than sorry, instead of searching for substance at every single party.” The So Far Gone superstar continues, turning inward, describing his own life as a newcomer ascending into a new circle as a rising talent. “Baby, being part of this life, I feel like I’m bound to end up with somebody that’s been with everybody/ I need you to rescue me from my destiny/ I’m trying to live right and give you whatever’s left of me/ ‘Cause you know life is what we make it/ And a chance is like a picture, it’d be nice if you take it/ Or let me take it for you, I’m just down to ride/ We can roll around the city until you finally decide/ I got more than a thing for you, tattoo it in ink for you/ Right over my heart, girl, I do the un-thinkable.” Late last year, Drake said working with Keys on her Element of Freedom album was “one of the best studio experiences of my life.” The video to the original “Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)” premiered last week and stars former “One Tree Hill” star Chad Michael Murray.
