Monique Greene and Nelly filed paperwork earlier this week agreeing to toss the civil rape case, which accused Nelly of luring her to his tour bus and attacking her following a concert at a Seattle nightclub in late 2017. Each side will pay their own legal fees, but it was unclear Thursday whether a financial settlement was in play. The case was acrimonious from the get-go, with Greene, 21, accusing Nelly, 43, of smearing her reputation before she even filed the suit with lies about her character. Nelly meanwhile insisted that their encounter was consensual and accused Greene of trying to inflame public opinion against him with her claims in court documents. We’ve reached out to lawyers for both Nelly and Greene for comment.

Nelly & Monique Greene In Legal Battle Over Alleged Rape Nelly’s rape accuser is hitting back at the rapper’s claims that she littered her court filings with salacious, irrelevant details and pics in order to sway the court and public opinion. The “Hot in Here” rapper asked a judge to strike portions of Monique Greene’s complaint, arguing they were purposely malicious, unproven, and had nothing to do with the case except to ruin Nelly’s rep. Greene sued Nelly last year after she said his handlers lured her to the rapper’s tour bus, where he raped her. Nelly has countersued her, alleging she made false statements to law enforcement in order to get him arrested. Lawyers for Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes, argued that elements from Greene’s complaint – including allegations from two unnamed women who said Nelly sexually assaulted them, photos of the two women with Nelly, and another photo of Nelly in handcuffs – weren’t hard facts, and were designed to inflame the public about the alleged rape. TMZ But Greene’s lawyer filed paperwork Wednesday said Nelly’s motion didn’t have a shot in hell because the allegations, photos and other evidence in her complaint – no matter now unpleasant – actually describe what happened. Greene also said that she included the other women’s testimony to illustrate Nelly’s alleged pattern of sexual abuse. Greene’s lawyer Karen Kohler said police in the U.K. are investigating one of the woman’s claims, while the other woman is a sergeant in the U.S. Army. Greene wants the judge to bar Nelly ( and specifically, his penis ) from abusing any other women – and not money – which contradict’s Nelly’s assertion that Greene’s lawsuit was a “money grab,” Greene’s court papers state. “Given the scheme and pattern of conduct and the multiple instances of wrongful conduct against female members of the public who attend his concerts as described in the complaint, an injunction is a viable remedy,” Greene’s court papers, obtained by BOSSIP, state. “It is also no worse in terms of being humiliating to Defendant Nelly – than a jury finding him liable for committing the sexual assaults detailed in the complaint and assessing money damages.” Greene’s lawyer said Nelly and his legal team have played dirty from the get go, launching a campaign of intimidation and threats against Greene that began the day after the alleged rape and in the middle of the criminal investigation, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP. As previously reported THREE women are claiming that the St. Louis rapper sexually assaulted them including two new women that say the rapper inappropriately touched them and at one point forced oral sex. According to his “Platinum Life” boo Shantel Jackson however, the accusations are false. “I know he f**** up and we’re dealing with that in our relationship to rebuild it and find trust. Auburn PD Plans To Move Forward With Rape Case Against Nelly It looks like Nelly isn’t exactly off the hook when it comes to those rape allegations . Even though his 21-year-old accuser announced through her lawyer that she was letting go of the case as the pressure was too much to move forward with prosecution (not to mention the fact that she’s been facing intimidation from Nelly’s clique ), the police don’t exactly need her cooperation to put Nelly behind bars. Washington State cops tell TMZ that they aren’t deterred by the accuser’s refusal to testify. They are still gathering evidence in the case and plan to present their findings to the prosecuter by the end of the week. Nelly’s attorney, however, claims that he’s more than confident the case will be closed quickly based on the evidence they find. Wow, the cops are adamant about this one. We wonder what they have on file, if anything, that makes them this confident in moving forward without the victim wanting anything further to do with the investigation. Getty/WENN

Nelly’s Accuser Drops Rape Case And Refuses To Testify Well, that was fast. Barely one week after a woman stepped forward claiming that Nelly had forced her into a sexual encounter , she wants all charges dropped and is refusing to even speak on the matter in court. According to TMZ, the woman’s attorney claims that the pressure of standing up to a well-liked celebrity is too much for her client, and she’d rather just cope with what occurred in private than go through the fiasco of a trial and prosecution she may not even triumph in — not to mention what will happen to HER in the court of public opinion . “[She’s chosen to] put a halt to the criminal investigation of [Nelly]. She will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him. Who will believe her? People are saying horrible things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break.” Which makes sense…when there’s a rich/famous/otherwise well-liked accuser folks often assume the accuser is a liar/whore/opportunist who couldn’t possibly be telling the truth, and those comments were definitely already rolling in. But Nelly’s attorney has a different view of what happened. According to him, her dropping the charges is only proof that “[this] reckless accusation, once investigated thoroughly, was exposed for what it was — a fabrication. A fabrication that has caused Nelly and his family to suffer emotionally and financially.” He says her dropping the charges isn’t good enough. He wants her to reveal her identity in a public apology, and even plans to recommend that Nelly pursue legal action against HER. Sheesh. In a series of tweets, the “Country Grammar” rapper claims he’s completely innocent and that HE is the victim. The 42-year-old entertainer (above performing in Auburn before the alleged incident) said he’s confident he’ll exonerated once all of the facts are in. He even apologized to his loved one, including his girlfriend Shantel Jackson, for putting himself in an embarrassing situation where he could be victimized. Nelly also made it clear that he wasn’t brought up on any charges and a bail was never issued for his release. When you think of Nelly, you probably think of his early hits — “Hot in Herre,” “Country Grammar,” “Ride wit Me,” all those early 2000s jams. But, to be real, you probably don’t even think of Nelly much at all, which is fair. His music career just isn’t what it used to be, and that’s true in many ways. He’s not nearly as popular as he once was , but he’s also been doing country music and Cheerios commercials, which … well, we all make choices. And if Nelly’s popularity was declining before, this new development certainly won’t help things. See, Nelly is currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line, and last night they played a show in Washington. But in a horrifying turn of events, Nelly was arrested early this morning. For rape. According to a statement from local police, “At 3:48 AM a female called 911 to report that she was sexually assaulted by a male, who is known as the rapper ‘Nelly.'” “The alleged assault was reported to occur on the tour bus that was parked at the listed location. Nelly had performed at the White River Amphitheater just hours before.” The “listed location,” by the way, was a Walmart parking lot. “After Patrol Officers investigated the incident,” the statement continues, “at 4:37 AM Nelly was taken into custody and booked at the SCORE jail facility.” Police are “continuing to investigate this incident,” but “the above details are all we have to release at this time.” Though he was arrested at 4:37, he was released shortly after 8:00 AM. So there aren’t too many details so far, but just the fact that he was arrested for rape is enough for us to be sincerely disgusted. But according to a statement from his lawyer, “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation.” “Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness,” the lawyer adds “I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges.” “Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation,” the statement concludes. Nelly is innocent until proven guilty, obviously, and it seems like so far the charges aren’t much of a concern — he has another show tonight, and he’s still scheduled to perform. But it’s also worth noting that this isn’t this guy’s first time getting arrested on his tour bus. Back in 2015, he was arrested after his bus was pulled over for lacking a required sticker. Officers smelled weed, so they did a search. In addition to the marijuana, they found meth and several guns — not a great combo.
