2Pac Back: Estate Of Tupac Shakur Settles Lawsuit, New LPs To Be Released

Source: Raymond Boyd / Getty The estate of the late Tupac “2Pac” Shakur has settled a years-long lawsuit that will bring to the masses at least two new 2Pac albums, and a possible third. A lawsuit brought forth by 2Pac’s late mother, Afeni Shakur, against the company that bought out Death Row Records has been settled and shelved material from her son will finally see the light. The Blast reports : According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Tupac’s estate filed documents this week stating the two sides have agreed to settle the suit. Shakur’s now-deceased mother, Afeni, had previously filed the case against Entertainment One, which bought Death Row a few years back, and claimed they were owed over a million bucks. Sources close to the deal tell us a cash settlement was made that will go to Tupac’s estate, but the estate will also be getting a ton of unreleased recordings the late rapper made. We’re told there are enough master recordings for at least 2, and possibly 3 new albums. As of now there is not a date set for when they will drop, but we’re told the plan is to start cranking them out ASAP. We wonder how former Death Rows boss Suge Knight will be taking the news while behind bars. — Photo: Getty

Little Brother Reunite For 1st Time In 10 Years For Art Of Cool Fest

Source: C.McGraw/Victoria Said It / C.McGraw/Victoria Said It-Radio One Raleigh It might have felt like the early 2000s again for many Hip-Hop fans Saturday night (Sept. 29) at the Art Of Cool music festival when Phonte, Rapper Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder banded together once again. The trio better known to the masses as Little Brother rocked together for the first time in a decade in a crowd-pleasing set. Little Brother was not a scheduled act, but after booked act Royce Da 5’9 reportedly missed his flight, 9th Wonder got the gang together and back into action. Posts on the members’ respective social media account made the announcement official, and despite press in the past stating this moment wouldn’t happen again, it was clear the chemistry between the men has never wavered. Fans caught video of Phonte and Big Pooh pushing each other with 9th Wonder providing the backdrop per usual. While this moment certainly satiated fans of the group and sparked hopes of a return to making music, time will tell if the group will hop back into the studio to give listeners a new project. Nicki Minaj Says CERTAIN Rappers Are Being Compared To Her Only Because She’s Female – “They’d Never Do This To A Man”

Nicki Minaj Says She Gets Comparisons Male Artists Wouldn’t Nicki had some isht to get off her chest on Wednesday night. We aren’t sure what triggered it necessarily, but it sounds like she’s sick and damn tired of not being treated equally as an industry peer with her male counterparts. Apparently, Nicki says that while collabs come naturally between the men in the industry, and artists reach out to work with Drake, J. Cole. and Kendrick based on their undeniable talent. Meanwhile, they need a “push,” presumably from their labels, to work with Nicki. In any field, women must work TWICE as hard to even get HALF the respect her male counterparts get. When does this stop? — NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) October 25, 2017 The greats collaborated w/Drake, Kendrick & Jcole b/c they’re dope MC’s. They collab’d w/nicki cuz someone pulled a gun to their heads…

Simon Cowell Says It Won’t Be Hard To Leave ‘American Idol’

Ryan Seacrest and judges visit ‘Larry King Live’ to promote ‘Idol Gives Back.’ By Gil Kaufman Simon Cowell Photo: Getty Images Simon Cowell has not publicly talked very much about his feelings on leaving “American Idol” at the end of the current season. But on Monday night’s “Larry King Live,” where the judges and Ryan Seacrest were promoting this week’s “Idol” season full of more on-screen tension than ever before, Cowell said that most of the testy back-and-forth between himself and Seacrest is a put on and that they are friendly in real life. “No, we get on fine,” he said. “It’s right that it’s sport.” Ellen DeGeneres also denied any real tension between the men, saying they were more like battling siblings. “They really are like brothers,” she said. “I think that Ryan likes to see what he can do to push Simon’s buttons. And Simon likes to see what he can do to push Ryan’s buttons. And they do it to each other. That’s just the way they play.” Asked how her first season was going, DeGeneres said she was having fun, but that the gig has been harder than she expected. “It’s really hard,” she said. “It’s easy to sit at home and have opinions, but when those kids are waiting for you to tell them how they sounded and — and, you know, sometimes I hear myself go, ‘I liked it,’ and then Simon is going, ‘No, you didn’t,’ you know.” Seacrest confirmed that he’d just signed a new contract that will keep him on the show for two more seasons, while DeGeneres said she’s got a five-year deal and both Jackson and DioGuardi have at least two more years on their current contracts. Earlier in the show, Seacrest told King that “Idol Gives Back” has raised more than $140 million to date for different child-related and anti-malaria charities, and all the judges discussed their travels to visit various organizations for Wednesday night’s two-hour fundraiser/elimination show. After taking a year off due to the financial crisis, the third edition of the all-star show will feature Justin Bieber, Elton John, Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood and the Black Eyed Peas.
