OMG! Luci Ford Eating Spaghetti Has Just Made Me Al Dente

Can I explain why my new favorite model Luci Ford is eating spaghetti in a stars and stripes swimsuit in these latest pictures? No. But is it still hot enough to cause your pants to spontaneously combust in 0.001 seconds? Most definitely. All I know is, I’ve never felt more patriotic in my life than I do right now. You can feel patriotism in your pants, right? Either way, I’m thinking these should replace those old Uncle Sam posters in schools and post offices. Who do I talk to about that? » view all 18 photos

Eminem, Rihanna Top New Ultimate Chart

‘Love the Way You Lie’ is #1 on BigChampagne’s chart, which factors Internet popularity into its rankings. By Kyle Anderson Eminem Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images For half a century, the Billboard Hot 100 has been thought to be the most accurate bellwether of what the biggest songs are. Every week, it takes into account radio airplay and singles sales, puts those numbers into a complicated formula and determines which tracks are becoming ubiquitous and which ones are falling off. But in the modern era, a song’s airplay and sales numbers don’t necessarily tell the whole story, as songs are streamed on YouTube, watched on MTV, posted to Facebook, downloaded through countless blogs and searched for on Google. With that in mind, BigChampagne — an organization that has spent years tracking music on the Internet — has come up with the Ultimate Chart , a listing that synthesizes the statistics from all the various places you can hear music and determines which songs are truly the biggest in the virtual world. The chart itself is the result of hard statistics and human analysis. “The Ultimate Chart is a chart for the 21st century, based on a scalable technology platform developed over more than ten years,” reads the introduction on the site. “We collect billions of points of data, online and off. Our machines are very clever but our analysts are too. Real people grade the computers’ work to ensure accuracy. We collect more relevant information from more sources than anyone ever has, by our count.” The big winners on the new chart include Eminem and Rihanna , whose “Love the Way You Lie” (from Eminem’s Recovery ) is listed as the #1 song, just ahead of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” (which has had a stranglehold on the Billboard chart for more than a month). Shakira also fares extremely well, as her “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” comes in at #3. That track is an excellent example of how a song can transcend the normal parameters of the other chart, because while the radio airplay for Shakira’s tune wasn’t great, it was still streamed online and searched for around the world due to its connection to the World Cup. A lot of the usual suspects are still represented on the Ultimate Chart. For example, Justin Bieber rules just as he does on the Hot 100, though his highest-charting tune on the Ultimate Chart remains “Baby,” even though “Somebody to Love” is finishing higher on the Billboard version. It wouldn’t be shocking if “Baby” earned that spot due to the surge in YouTube views of the video. Bieber’s YouTube rival Lady Gaga is also well represented on the Ultimate Chart, with three songs (“Alejandro,” “Bad Romance” and “Telephone”) all in the top 20. The Ultimate Chart also tracks the most ubiquitous artists based on airplay, streams, searches and social-network followers and friends. Eminem tops that chart as well, followed by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Shakira and Drake, which is a deadly accurate assessment of the pop music landscape. Olbermann Claims FNC ‘Says ‘Indefensible & Even Racist Things’ Like Helen Thomas

On Friday’s Countdown show, after having decided not to include Helen Thomas in his “Worst Person” segment for her anti-Semitic declaration that Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” and “go home” to Germany and Poland, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann included Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace in his “Worst Person” segment for suggesting that it would be “poetic justice” if Fox News were to be given her seat in the White House briefing room. Olbermann went on to claim that FNC personalities are guilty of making comments that are similarly racist as compared to Thomas’s attack on Israeli Jews: “Wallace thus implying that a far right entity that occasionally says indefensible and even racist things should replace a far left entity that occasionally said indefensible and even racist things.” On Wednesday’s Countdown show, Olbermann had similarly found a reason to include in his “Worst Person” segment the rabbi who exposed Thomas’s anti-Semitism, even though Thomas herself was never included in the segment. Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Friday, June 11, Countdown show on MSNBC: Runner up, Chris Wallace of Fox, saying his place, its own kind of get rich quick pitch, should get Helen Thomas`s front row seat in the White House press room. “This is actually kind of interesting because I think it would be the final sort of back payment for Helen Thomas if this were to happen because, obviously, she was very far to the left wing. And if her seat were to be taken by Fox News, it would be kind of poetic justice.” Wallace thus implying that a far right entity that occasionally says indefensible and even racist things should replace a far left entity that occasionally said indefensible and even racist things. When his implication was pointed out to him by a Fox interviewer, he said, “I just realized that`s probably not the way to go on this. We`re fair and balanced. That`s the point.” Chris, good luck with the rest of the toothpaste.

Shia LaBeouf Misses Megan Fox On Set Of ‘Transformers 3’

Actor actor looks forward to ‘new perspective’ of Fox’s replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. By Jocelyn Vena Shia LaBeouf in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: Paramount Pictures Earlier this spring, movie fans everywhere were surprised to hear that Megan Fox wouldn’t be back to fight evil alien robots alongside Shia LaBeouf for “Transformers 3.” Fox has been replaced by Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley , who will play a new love interest for LaBeouf’s Sam. And it seems like LaBeouf has mixed feelings about the switch-up. “I love Megan and I miss the girl,” LaBeouf told USA Today from the set of the third film. “But Sam and Mikaela became one character, and here … you have discovery again from a new perspective.” It isn’t just LaBeouf who is hoping that some change will revive the franchise. Director Michael Bay told the paper that in this third film they hope to resolve some of the problems that fans and movie critics disliked in the second film, “Revenge of the Fallen.” “I’ll take some of the criticism,” he said. “It was very hard to put [the sequel] together that quickly after the writers’ strike [of 2007-08]. … This one really builds to a final crescendo. It’s not three multiple endings.” Bay believes that the film’s villain, Shockwave, and its top-secret plot will keep fans on the edge of their seats. “One thing we’re getting rid of is what I call the ‘dorky comedy.’ So the twins, the two bumbling, slang-spewing robots? They’re basically gone,” he explained, adding that John Turturro will still be on hand for comic relief. “The movie is more of a mystery. It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened. As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.” What do you think “Transformers 3” needs to do to revive the franchise? Share your ideas in the comments. Jesse James Says He ‘Threw Away’ A ‘Pretty Amazing Life’

‘She’s going to be hurt for a long time,’ he says of his divorce from Sandra Bullock. By Jocelyn Vena Jesse James and Sandra Bullock Photo: Jordan Strauss/ WireImage After months of speculation about his affairs and the eventual end of his marriage to Oscar winner Sandra Bullock , Jesse James sat down with “Nightline” on Tuesday night to try to clear the air. “I think out of everything, this is why I’m doing this interview the most, because you know, dealing with losing my marriage and my son and embarrassing everyone and decimating my life, but to be called a racist on top of that is … it makes me really sad,” James said, referring to photos of him dressed in Nazi regalia that were leaked shortly after it was learned he had cheated on Bullock. “I could tell by the look on my face it was a joke that was funny then, probably for a minute, but then looking at it in the context of now and in my life, it’s not funny,” he said of the photo. “There’s not a racist bone in my body.” In fact, James says that when he and Bullock were in the process of adopting a child, a son that Bullock would later adopt on her own , he says he “didn’t care what color” the baby was. And he says that seeing Bullock now with Louie, he is excited for her. “To see her in the role as mother is, like, one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. She is like a fish to water. … As soon as she put that baby into her hands it was automatic and amazing,” James said. “I found a new trust for her, like I knew she wasn’t going to leave, and our relationship blossomed.” But shortly after they met baby Louie, women began admitting to having affairs with James. “I took a pretty amazing life and amazing success and marriage … and threw it away by my own hands,” he said. “I’ve spent my whole life with the kids and with her trying to … protect her from everything, but the most hurt she’s ever been caused is by the person that wanted to protect her. It’s terrible, and she’s going to be hurt for a long time.” He says that Bullock had suspected something was wrong in the past, but he had tried to convince her otherwise. “I think she’s had her suspicions in the past, but, you know, I lied and lied my way out of it,” he said. “I lied to everyone about everything, even to myself. “When I was doing it, you know, one, I knew it was horrible, it made me feel horrible. And two, I knew I would get caught eventually, and I think I wanted to get caught,” he continued. “I know for a fact now what it was, you know. I mean, it was me trying to self-sabotage my life.” James eventually owned up to the affairs and went to rehab for sex addiction and anger issues . It was a decision that Bullock supported. “I just told her I was going to get some help and I wanted to make sure she would take care of [his daughter] Sunny,” James said. He added that Bullock was “proud” of him.

Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley To Replace Megan Fox In ‘Transformers 3’

Victoria’s Secret model is relative newcomer to acting. By Adam Rosenberg Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Photo: Todd Williamson/ WireImage With Megan Fox out of “Transformers 3” and actors already showing up on set , it’s getting down to crunch time for director Michael Bay, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Paramount to find a replacement female lead. The news today is that they appear to have found one. Deadline Hollywood reported Tuesday afternoon that the search had narrowed to three candidates: Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, actress and former fashion model Sarah Wright and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Brooklyn Decker. Huntington-Whiteley was named the front-runner in the original report, and a later update revealed that she had been chosen. Unlike Wright and Decker, who between them have a number of film and television credits, Huntington-Whiteley is a relative newcomer. She’s been modeling since 2003, for a range of names that include Abercrombie & Fitch, Clinique, DKNY and Ralph Lauren. Huntington-Whiteley has been working with Victoria’s Secret since 2006; it is likely that she made Bay’s short list because of his work on ad campaigns for the lingerie brand. Huntington-Whiteley’s name first came up as a possibility last week in a report from GeekWeek . Neither Wright nor Decker were named in the earlier story; GeekWeek simply wrote, “Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will soon be cast to replace Megan Fox.” Deadline further reports that Bay still has a week before he needs to finalize his pick. Star Shia LaBeouf shoots his first scenes with the female lead in two weeks and the production will continue through the summer. “Transformers 3” is scheduled for a July 2011 release. Jack Johnson Previews New Songs From To the Sea At Free Concert

Johnson took the album title literally, performing for fans at Santa Monica’s famed pier. By Matt Elias Jack Johnson Photo: MTV News SANTA MONICA, California — Jack Johnson took fans to the sea (literally) on Monday night to celebrate the release of his aptly titled new album To the Sea . The free concert was given to show appreciation for fans who took part in a beach cleanup on Saturday in Santa Monica, which was organized by Southern California nonprofit Heal the Bay. Three thousand fans with free tickets covered a large portion of Santa Monica’s iconic pier for the show. An almost equal amount who weren’t able to score tickets lined the beach below with blankets (those blankets coming in very handy on the unseasonably cold night). Prior to the show, the crowd below was treated to a rare opportunity to hear the man of the night and his band’s soundcheck — thanks in part to the open-air stage. In between songs, the troubadour shouted out to those below, generating enthusiastic responses from the growing crowd. Following the soundcheck, Johnson told MTV News how special the rare pre-show audience was. “A lot of times in soundcheck, we end up just not playing a whole song because it’s just us and we’ve heard it enough times,” Johnson said. “But once there’s people listening — even if it’s 10 or 15 — we usually play a whole song because it’s just nicer to listen to. So this time we had what looks like a couple hundred people at least for a soundcheck. But it was fun. We just played a song that we’re not gonna play tonight — might as well use that one.” While fans might think it’s rare to catch Johnson in such an intimate setting, he continues to play smaller stages back home in Hawaii, mostly for his own nonprofit, the Kokua Hawaii Foundation. Usually in classroom settings, Johnson embraces the unpredictability of not having his road crew with him to set up a professional sound system (he says it’s usually “just me and the guitar”). And on the eve of the release of his fifth studio album, To the Sea (due June 1), the singer/songwriter shared his philosophy on playing new and for the most part never-heard-before songs during his set. “I think there will be a couple of the new songs, kind of finding that balance. Because I just know from being a music fan and going to shows as well, I like hearing some new stuff, but definitely want to hear a lot of the old ones that you already identify with,” Johnson said. True to his words, later that night Johnson sprinkled some new tunes in with his established crowd favorites. He and his band took the stage shortly after 8 p.m. and jumped right into the lead single from To the Sea, called “You and Your Heart.” Acknowledging a few missed chords, Johnson ended the song by saying, “The reason this show is free is because we haven’t played in a month.” The crowd chuckled with him and it set the tone for the loose and free-flowing show. “If I Had Eyes” was next, followed by the Curious George soundtrack song “Upside Down,” which drew a collective “Aww” from the crowd when Johnson dedicated it “to the little girl with the beanie on her head” who was hoisted on her dad’s shoulders. Next up were a series of pairings that Johnson and the band segued into without pausing. They followed “Flake” with the Steve Miller Band classic “The Joker.” “Do You Remember” went into “Bubbly Toes,” which drew a raucous sing-along on the “la da da da da da’s.” They ended the night’s pairings with the crowd favorite “Inaudible Melodies” and “Good People.” Some of the new songs that made it into the set were “To the Sea,” “From the Clouds,” and “At or With Me.” Highlights of the night included pianist Zach Gill’s efforts to keep the crowd warm by initiating an audience-wide pogo jump, bassist Merlo Podlewski’s rap on “Staple It Together,” and most of all, Johnson’s solo encore of “Better Together,” which brought a hush across the crowd, then a whispered sing-along of the tune. And there was no better way to end the night. Related Artists Jack Johnson

‘Transformers 3’ Star Tyrese Gibson Saddened By Megan Fox’s Departure

‘We built something here. We all did,’ actor says at E! 20th anniversary celebration. By Adam Rosenberg, with reporting by Todd Gilchrist Tyrese Gibson Photo: MTV News The “Transformers”-loving world was shocked last week when it was revealed that star Megan Fox would not be returning for the upcoming third movie in the franchise, which starts shooting this week. Although her character was central to the plot of the first two movies, a publicly contentious professional relationship between Fox and director Michael Bay reportedly led to the split. “Transformers” co-star Tyrese Gibson said he was disappointed when he heard the news of Fox’s departure. “I was sad about it, man. Genuinely,” he told MTV News on the red carpet for the E! 20th anniversary celebration Monday night. “We built something here. We all did. We all put our own sauce and stamp and energy on this franchise.” As much as he was bummed to hear the news, Gibson isn’t prying into the backstory before he heads to the “Transformers 3” set this Thursday. “I don’t know exactly what went down,” he said. “But it’s crazy to see the band get broken up, you know what I mean?” No matter which story you believe — that Paramount decided not to exercise Fox’s option, or that Fox decided she wanted out — it certainly is surprising that such a key figure in the franchise would be removed so suddenly, especially with production so close to kicking off. The problematic Fox/Bay relationship aside, there have been few indications of problems in the “Transformers” camp. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura even told MTV News in a recent interview that a “Transformers” without Fox was unthinkable . “Michael and Megan get along great. Like in any creative endeavor, there’s not always total agreement,” he said at the time. “But I think [reports of their issues with one another is] much ado about nothing. I even read that we were thinking about not casting her. Come on! It’s so silly. As though we would want to mess with such a successful combination.” Do you think the “Transformers” franchise will do well without Megan Fox? Talk about it in the comments! Simon Cowell, Lies, Calls Idol ‘Perfect’

Simon Cowell appeared on Oprah today and, after touting the American version of X-Factor , he laughed off Oprah’s question about the state of American Idol . “I’m not gonna say anything,” he said. “Wouldn’t change a thing. Everything’s perfect.” As for who should replace him, Cowell said something vague that could be taken as a swipe at Ellen Degeneres: “I think primarily, you’ve got to have somebody on that panel who actually knows what they’re talking about.” Not Justin Bieber, in other words? Sorry, Seacrest . [ Zap2It ]
