Regis Philbin’s Last Show Boosts Live Ratings

Regis Philbin’s last show Friday boosted ratings of Live With Regis and Kelly to near-record highs, with ABC scoring a 7.3 household rating and 23 percent share. Philbin’s swan song included a celebrity packed audience, taped accolades from celebrities and a key to the city presented by New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg. Ratings were up 157 percent year-over-year, leaving many fans wondering what the network will do to replace him … and specifically who will fill his shoes. Questions for another time. Sacrifice

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve met so many wonderful people at convention and my book signings.  What has affected me the most are the inspiring stories told and sent to me from veterans who admire my dad and have their own incredible stories to share. They are humbling, inspiring and unforgettable.  One of the most moving is the YouTube video below that hundreds of people have sent to me. I think it speaks for itself and I encourage everyone to watch and share.

Ground Zero

Yesterday we accompanied Mom and Dad to a September 11th memorial ceremony at Ground Zero in New York City. Mom and Dad met with Senator Obama and they accompanied New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg to the temporary memorial that exists in the middle of the construction site where the towers once stood. It was a day of somber reflection and remembrance.

Why the Hell Shouldn’t We Have Terror Trials Here?

Rich Uncle Bloomberg does not want terrorist Khalid Shaikh Mohammed tried in Federal court in lower Manhattan. And so now it will probably not happen. Not because of fear of terror, but because of fear of real estate prices dropping.
