Eliot Spitzer Was With Russian Call Girl At Hotel Before She Ended Up In Hospital Some folks never learn! Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is caught up in another scandal , this time involving a 25-year-old call girl named Svetlana Travis who returned to her native Russia within days of being hospitalized following an incident at the Plaza Hotel in NYC where she told hospital officials Spitzer attacked her . She has since recanted her statement via an email apologizing for the allegation. The email was released by Spitzer’s lawyer, Adam S. Kaufman, which said: “I just read the news, I’m so sorry. My report was all fake. You tried to save me.” Kaufman gave the Manhattan District Attorney a copy of the email. The former governor also released a statement saying that the 25-year-old was not his girlfriend. “The woman who initially made the allegation was not my girlfriend. Lis Smith was my girlfriend, and I had and have deep affection for Lis,” he said. Spitzer and his girlfriend, Lis Smith, 33, broke up in December. Damn… When will they learn?!?! Also, as far as this girl changing her tune — is anyone really surprised. We’ve watched enough ‘House of Cards’ to guess what happened there. And conveniently enough the girl is now back in Russia. The former high-priced escort who ended New York State Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s political career finally received her own happy ending: Ashley Dupre is married! She eloped with longtime construction magnate boyfriend Thomas (T.J.) Earle two weekends ago, reports confirm. The pair were married in Paris. The couple tied the knot in a “very private and intimate ceremony” in a penthouse atop the Four Seasons Hotel George V. The bride wore an Inbal Dror dress. “No kids, no family, no friends. Just them alone overlooking the Eiffel Tower,” says a New York Daily News insider of the event. “It was very romantic.” Dupre and Earle have been together more than three years. Their first child, daughter Izabel Jagger Earle, will celebrate her first birthday on November 10. The 28-year-old Ashley Dupre , now Ashley Earle, has moved on to a tranquil life in Middletown, N.J., since becoming a tabloid fixture back in the day. In Red Bank, N.J., she operates a lingerie and swimsuit boutique called Femme by Ashley. She posed nude for Playboy back in her notorious heyday. Congratulations to the Earles!

Confirmed: Cocaine Discovered in Whitney Houston’s Hotel Room

We have an update on the passing of Whitney Houston. A week after the official coroner’s report listed this singer’s cause of death as being a heart attack, likely related to cocaine use, it’s now been confirmed that the drug was , indeed, discovered in Whitney’s hotel room at the time her body was found. Initial reports had been sketchy on this fact, with rumors circulating that cocaine may have been present in Houston’s system – but no traces of the substances were anywhere near the bathtub in which she drowned. Allegations of someone tampering with the evidence even ran wild. But now sources connected to the investigation tell TMZ that “white, powdery remnants” were taken into custody and later identified as cocaine . Does this put the tragedy to rest? Sadly, probably not. Accusations of who supplied Whitney with her drugs of choice will continue for the foreseeable future. Ray J has already been forced to come out and defend himself against this charge .

Keith Olbermann: Fired By Current TV!

Keith Olbermann has just been fired by the cable network that took him in after the much higher-profile cable network he was previously on cut him loose. Current TV, which was co-founded by Al Gore, released a statement saying it was parting ways with the pundit , surprisingly citing a difference in values. The decision comes less than a year after Keith Olbermann was fired by MSNBC , then hired by Current to help energize the network’s primetime ratings. Current said in a statement this afternoon: “We created Current to give voice to those Americans who refuse to rely on corporate-controlled media and are seeking an authentic progressive outlet.” “We are more committed to those goals today than ever before.” “Current was founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.” Current also announced today that it will be giving former New York Governor and CNN personality Eliot Spitzer a show in the network’s 8 p.m. hour.

It seems that Eliot Spitzer's mind is still in the 1980s, as he twice stated on Thursday's Parker-Sptizer on CNN that the new START Treaty was with the Soviet Union. Spitzer trumpeted “the all-important START Treaty, that will finally cement a nuclear disarmament agreement with the Soviet Union ,” and then noted that the treaty would deal with the ” nuclear warheads that are pointed by the Soviet Union at us ” . The former New York governor and co-host Kathleen Parker led their 8 pm Eastern hour program with the current affairs of the lame-duck Congress. Spitzer highlighted the recent Gallup poll that found that only 13 percent of American approve of the job the legislative body is doing, and bemoaned how “for the past couple of hours, they have been spending your tax dollars in a debate about- and I don't know how else to say this- how they're going to debate.” After Parker replied that the House debate was specifically about extending the current tax rates, her CNN co-host focused his attention on the Senate and made his first gaffe about the START Treaty. Charlie Rangel getting censured on the House floor for 45 seconds, CNN's Parker Spitzer asked about Rangel on Thursday night and received a dissenting blast from sports journalist Stephen A. Smith, who called him an “absolute disgrace” and said “I'm done with him.” Former Air America host Sam Seder, so enraged by the corruption of the Bushies, was just as partisan in insisting Rangel didn't commit a crime and shouldn't receive a censure and was “open with the committee.” Eliot Spitzer didn't want to dwell too long on the ethical-politician subject: SPITZER: All right, guys. Does he persuade you? Should Charlie be shown the exit or has Charlie persuaded you he deserves to continue on fighting for central Harlem? SMITH: Well, I'm not going to sit there and say he deserves to be shown the exit, but he certainly hasn't convinced me. CNN, whose new ad claims that they “keep them all honest, without playing favorites,” actually played favorites on Monday's Parker-Spitzer. Hosts Kathleen Parker and Eliot Spitzer failed to give ideological labels to their liberal guests, while clearly identifying Tim Phillips as being president of ” Americans for Prosperity, a right-wing group ” and labeling Bjorn Lomborg a ” controversial author .” Parker and Spitzer's first guest was liberal Congressman Anthony Weiner, who appeared two minutes into the 8 pm Eastern hour. The former liberal governor introduced Weiner as merely a ” Democratic representative from New York .” The American Conservative Union gave the congressman a zero rating in 2008 and 2009, with a lifetime rating of 5.14. The left-of-center Americans for Democratic Action named Weiner one of their “ADA Heroes” in the House in 2009. Clearly, the New York politician is a liberal, but neither host identified him as such. read more
