The hip-hop artist gave just $6,431 to his own charity in 2010, a year in which he earned an estimated $63 million, according to tax records for the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund examined by The Daily. His superstar wife, Beyoncé, made in the neighborhood of $87 million, according to a Forbes estimate — yet she didn’t give her husband’s foundation a dime. But the charity is hardly an afterthought for the rapper, formerly known as Shawn Carter. He is scheduled to perform the first of two benefit concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York City tonight, splitting the proceeds between his charity and the United Way of New York. Tickets range from $150 to $15,000. Jay-Z is rapping for free, yet it remains to be seen how many crispy Benjamins he’ll personally contribute. Richard Kenin presented the coveted Silver Lifesaving Medal award to Petty Officer 3rd Class John Rivera for the rescue of R&B artist Sean Kingston after his accident on a personal water craft on Memorial Day weekend, 2011. Rivera was off duty and on his personal boat near Miami Beach’s Star Island bridge and saw Kingston go under water after he struck a bridge on his personal watercraft. Rivera immediately jumped in and kept him afloat until additional help arrived. He was honored by colleagues during a ceremony at Coast Guard Air Station Miami. The Los Angeles County of Department of Children and Family Services is recommending that Halle Berry’s ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, have another adult present during his custodial time with their three-year-old daughter, Nahla. According to Radaronline : “Case workers are recommending that a nanny be present with Gabriel during his visitation times. Halle’s nanny had been with Nahla when Gabriel had his custodial time from noon until she went to sleep. However, after the alleged incident between the nanny and Gabe, that hasn’t been in place, and he has been alone with Nahla. “It will be up to the judge to implement the recommendations. Gabriel is fighting having another person with him, he feels that Halle is trying to make his time with their daughter as uncomfortable as possible,” the insider says. “The report does recommend that Halle and Gabriel attend parenting classes together, so that they can co-parent Nahla more harmoniously. The classes will give them the tools to work through their issues, and hopefully become better parents for it.” Meanwhile, “Gabriel Aubry is unlikely to be charged with any crime in relation to the police report the nanny filed,” a law enforcement source revealed. According to TMZ reports : Pilar Sanders called cops to Deion’s gargantuan Texas mansion yesterday … claiming she was ATTACKED by one of Deion’s female friends … while the NFL legend stood by and watched. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Pilar told officers a woman named Laura arrived to the mansion to see Deion … but Pilar told Laura she was not welcome in the home and asked her to leave. We’re told Laura refused … and after some words were exchanged, Laura threw an object at Pilar … striking her in the eye. Pilar grabbed her phone and called 911 … and told police Deion was present during the altercation, but didn’t do ANYTHING to diffuse the situation.
