Lemmy Kilmister Dies; Motörhead Singer Was 70

Lemmy Kilmister – the lead singer of the influential rock band Motörhead – has passed away at the age of 70. Almost as well known for his reckless lifestyle as for his inimitable vocal stylings on metal classics such “Ace of Spades,” Kilmister succumbed to an undisclosed form of cancer less than 48 hours after being diagnosed. The official Motörhead Twitter page broke the news to fans moments ago with the following statement: ” There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. “He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family. We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words. We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD. Have a drink or few. Share stories. Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself…HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT. ” The news comes as fans continue to mourn the passing of the band’s drummer, Phil Taylor, who passed away last month . In addition to his time with Motörhead, Kilmister was an early member of the UK space rock outfit Hawkwind. Frank Gifford Dies; NFL Legend Was 84

Legendary New York Giants wide receiver and longtime sports journalist Frank Gifford has passed away at the age of 84. His family broke the news with a statement issued this morning: ” It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and friend, Frank Gifford. Frank died suddenly this beautiful Sunday morning of natural causes at his Connecticut home.  “We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being. We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank you for your prayers .” Gifford played for the Giants for his entire 12-year NFL career. He was selected for the Pro Bowl eight times, and was named NFL MVP in 1956. That same year, he led his team to an NFL championship. After he retired, Gifford became a respected play-by-play announcer and commentator. He served as one of the voices of Monday Night Football from 1971 to 1997. In 1986, he married beloved television personality Kathie Lee Gifford. Alex Rocco Dies; Godfather Actor Was 79

Alex Rocco – the actor best known for his performance as Moe Greene in the 1972 classic The Godfather – has passed away at the age of 79. Rocco’s daughter broke the news to fans on her Facebook page last night. No cause of death has been given. In addition to his small but memorable performance as a sleazy tycoon in Francis Ford Coppola’s beloved mob epic, Greene will be remembered for his long career as a revered character actor, during which he racked up more than 160 credits. Rocco won an Emmy for his role on the short-lived 1990 Jon Cryer sitcom, Famous Teddy Z. His famous, gravelly voice is recognizable to Simpsons fans as that of Itchy & Scratchy producer Roger Myer Jr. During his fifty years in the industry, Rocco also made appearances on such popular series as The Rockford Files, Starsky and Hutch, The Facts of Life, Private Practice and Episodes. Throughout his long career, Rocco never complained of being typecast as a tough-talking mobster. In fact, it’s a role he spent much of his early life preparing for. Prior to moving to Hollywood to pursue acting, Rocco had loose ties to the Boston mob and even spent some time in prison. He happily discussed his troubled youth in interviews and often said it was instrumental in helping to shape his onscreen persona. Several celebrities have already paid tribute to Rocco on social media, and he’ll be remembered by many as one of the most colorful character actors in film history. Cause Of Death Determined For A$AP Yams

A$AP Yams’ Cause Of Death Revealed ASAP Yams, credited as the founder of ASAP Rocky’s ASAP Mob, died unexpectedly on January 18 . Details were initially skimpy in the days following his passing, though many suspected that an overdose was the reason. The Chief Medical Examiner was finally able to release the cause of death on March 19. Sadly, despite impassioned denials from fans and members of the A$AP Mob, the 26-year-old’s tragic and sudden death was indeed related to a fatal mix of drugs. New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica broke the news to Twitter earlier this evening: What a sad outcome. SMH.

Miley Cyrus is married to new boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger … according to a new tabloid report. The two supposedly “stunned friends” with a “wild secret ceremony.” Did they, though? We would guess not. First of all, and really last of all, it’s Life & Style that reported this. As celebrity gossip sources go, they are not among the most reliable. Miley has been pregnant countless times, if you were to believe this source, and was even involved in a “deadly binge” and “drug overdose” as Gossip Cop notes . So take it with a grain (nay, a boulder, nay, an avalanche of salt) as you read these new claims that Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger got married. The alleged setting was a crazy night in Miami, where Miley dragged her man to a location where a “little person stripper pal [who’s] ordained as a minister was waiting.” Gotta give L&S credit for originality and detail there, at least. It gets better, too. According to the insider, “Miley whipped out wedding rings she’d fashioned from rolling paper and screamed, ‘We’re getting married!’” The next night, she broke the news to her friends in style. “Miley invited a bunch of her childhood friends over to announce that she and Patrick had eloped the night before,” claims the likely bogus insider. “Everyone seemed really confused and taken aback,” the supposed witness says, “about what Miley went on to describe as a ‘private commitment ceremony.’” So they’re not married legally. M.I.A. Leaves Jay Z’s Roc Nation M.I.A. ain’t got love for Roc Nation? According to Rolling Out: It appears that Roc Nation is taking it’s first major hit as a roster. Outspoken British rapper M.I.A. has announced her departure from Jay Z’s famed management company. The Sri Lanka-born emcee joined Roc Nation in 2012, but apparently, she’s decided to take her career in a new direction. She broke the news via Twitter. “2013 i found old tweet to bring u this. im leaving @RocNation . Thanks to everyone who supported the M.I.A #MATANGI LP. HAPPY NEW YEAR | 2014,” M.I.A. tweeted. M.I.A. has had a tumultuous year. She and her ex-fiance, Benjamin Bronfman, engaged in a very public and very ugly custody battle for their four year old son; she made it known that she was unhappy with Roc Nation’s handling of filmmaker Steve Loveridge. Loveridge directed a documentary about M.I.A. and leaked some of the footage early, which led to a clash with Roc Nation. Loveridge was reportedly fired after the disagreement, but M.I.A. announced back in August that he had resumed direction of the project. Many are speculating that the friction involving the documentary is one factor that has lead to M.I.A.’s defection from “The Roc.” Despite the conflicts, the artist also released one of the year’s most acclaimed albums. Her fourth studio LP, Matangi, was released in November to widespread accolades and acclaim from critics. She got baby daddy drama and she doesn’t have Jay Z in her corner anymore.
