EA Announces ‘Madden NFL 20’ Will Be Free-To-Play, In Celebration of 2019-20 Season Kickoff

Well EA is giving gamers the opportunity to play the latest installment in the famed video game football franchise this weekend FOR FREE 99. If you are not boycotting the NFL (no knock if you are), this is your time of the year. To celebrate the kickoff of the NFL’s 2019-20 season, EA announced starting today (Sept 5) Madden NFL 20 will be free-to-play through the weekend on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The news follows the surprise announcement of the ‘Superstar KO’ mode, a new co-op experience that promises “shorter games and bigger action.” As described by EA, the new game mode is a fresh, simpler, faster, and modern way to play Madden. It not only features the NFL’s best in 3v3 action but will feature Lil Yachty and DJ Khaled as coaches of their own squads in the game. Madden players can partake in casual matchups against each other and steal their opponent’s players as well. Speaking of Lil Yachty, you will be able to watch him, fellow Hip-Hop artist juice WRLD and NFL stars in the Twitch Prime Crown Cup right now. About Time: ‘NBA 2K20’ Finally Adds All 12 WNBA Teams To The Game

Source: 2K / NBA 2K20 NBA Live took the big step of integrating the WNBA and its superstars into the game two years ago. Many began to wonder if the NBA 2K franchise would eventually follow suit. That question has been answered today (August 8), 2K revealed that all 12 WNBA teams and its superstars will be in the NBA 2K20 . With NBA Live 20 pushed all the way back , NBA 2K20 picked up the ball dropped by EA. In the developer video introducing the WNBA to 2K, we see Candace Parker, and Breanna Stewart getting their motion capture on. In the 1:47 clip we get to see the ladies in action and the gameplay looks very accurate. The players we see in the video do look visually accurate, which is a significant improvement from the generic scans NBA Live used of the WNBA players. Speaking on her addition to the top-selling video game Candace Parker added: “Growing up, I always remembered watching male athletes on TV and playing as them in video games. Now, to have the WNBA be in the position we are and to have women featured prominently in NBA 2K20, we are allowing young girls and boys to have female athletes as role models. The 2K team has done an amazing job of making sure to not just put women into the game playing men’s basketball, but I’ve seen first-hand the hard work they’re doing to make this as real and authentic as possible to women’s basketball. I’m proud to be a part of this team paving the way for the future.” Jeff Thomas, SVP of Development, Visual Concepts stated: “For years, fans have requested the ability to play as some of their favorite WNBA stars. We’ve been working with the WNBA and their top players to modify our basketball simulation engine to replicate the WNBA on-court experience. We’re excited to roll out this new feature in NBA 2K20 because we know how important the WNBA is to the world of basketball.” WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert noted: “We are excited to have WNBA players as part of this top-selling video game,  helping to bring more exposure to these elite players, expanding our fan base and providing an immersive gaming experience featuring women role model athletes.” Better late than never right? NBA 2K is one of the most played games on consoles right now by both sexes. It was always weird that game lacked the ability for female gamers to create female avatars. The NBA 2K League’s first female player had to ball with a male avatar during the season. Hopefully now with the inclusion of the WNBA into the game that will change. Kudos to folks at 2K for the significant addition. All game modes featuring the WNBA will be available to play when NBA 2K20 drops worldwide September 6, 2019. Nike Blesses Madden 99 Club Players With Exclusive Cleats

Source: Nike / NIke While viewership for the NFL might’ve come down a notch the past few years, gamers have continued to support EA’s yearly installment of Madden and now that the video game franchise is a few weeks away from releasing it’s latest installment Madden 20 , Nike is taking the opportunity to congratulate the few players who have a 99 OVE rating in the game. Re-imagining some classic Nike silhouettes with gold and white colorways, Nike has blessed the likes of Bobby Wagner, Aaron Donald, Khalil Mack, and with Nike 99 Club cleats which are designed “to each superstar’s unique style and skillset.” While Wagner probably got the grail of the 99 Club cleats with a golden pair of Air Jordan 1 cleats,   Aaron Donald   and   Khalil Mack didn’t get scraps either as they both received white and gold-lined custom versions of the Nike Force Savage Elite. While we doubt the players will be rocking these 1 of 1 pair of cleats on the field anytime soon, it’s definitely a nice item to add to their trophy cases. Kima From ‘The Wire’ aka Actress Sonja Sohn Arrested For Cocaine Possession

Source: Steven Ferdman / Getty Actress Sonja Sohn aka Detective Kima Greggs from HBO’s The Wire and more recently Showtime’s The Chi  was arrested for cocaine possession, amongst other drugs. She got pinched on Sunday morning (July 21) at around 2am in North Carolina. According to TMZ , Sohn was arrested for cocaine possession, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The booger sugar charge is a felony while the rest are misdemeanors. Details are scarce beyond her arrest at 2 am, and she bailed out 6 minutes later. She posted her $1500 bail and is due back in court for her arraignment on Tuesday (July 23). Life comes at you fast. Sohn left The Chi after its first season.

Few are larger than the following for NBA 2K, the longest run basketball video game that’s about to release it’s 20th version this fall. One of the standouts on 2K has always been it’s soundtrack. Hip hop fans big and small all seem to leave their mark, and this upcoming version doesn’t deviate from that trend. So far, Drake, J. Lashana Lynch Will Make History As The First Black Woman To Take On 007 Role In New James Bond Film

Source: Slaven Vlasic / Getty On Tuesday it was announced that Lashana Lynch would take the reign as the new 007 as Daniel Craig is now passing the torch along. It was reported by British Tabloid Daily Mail that 007 would be experiencing a radical makeover in the form of 31-year-old black women and making history. For years now it has been speculated that Daniel Craig’s last time on screen as James Bond would be in 2020 with the released of Bond 25, (this is not the official name, just the temporary name to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the British Secret Service Agent.) According to the report, the upcoming,  film will reveal Lynch as the new 007 with Craig’s character coming out of retirement to team up with her for one last mission. The James Bond series has spanned over 60 years, with the first movie coming out in 1962, featuring Sean Connery. Through the years the show has developed a very loyal and protective fan base. In the series’ existence, six different characters have served as James Bond, all six have been white men. Back in 2014, it was reported by many outlets that Idris Elba would take over as the new James Bond, that upset many of the 007 fan base.o “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” a “movie insider” told the tabloid. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond, but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.” Then in April of 2018 Elba came out and squashed those rumors stating that he is not interested in the position, saying “You’re THAT character, and known as that character for many, many years.” “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” a “movie insider” told the outlet. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond, but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.” The movie is written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is also a newcomer to the Bond series. The movie currently has a release date of April 8, 2020.

Here’s How You Can Watch The ‘NBA 2K20’ Player Ratings Reveal Live

Source: 2K / Visual Concepts The basketballs have stopped bouncing in NBA arenas for now, but the folks at 2K and Visual Concepts are hard at work on the upcoming installment in the super-popular NBA 2K franchise. The studio announced at the beginning of the month that Anthony Davis and Dwyane Wade are the game’s next cover athletes. Tonight we will find out what superstars ratings in the basketball simulator will look like. The fun begins 8 PM ET/5 PM PT when Anthony Davis alongside NBA 2K developers will unveil the ratings for the “most anticipated” superstars in NBA 2K20 from Twitter’s San Francisco main headquarters. Joining the Los Angeles Lakers latest acquisition will be Ronnie2K,  Alexis Morgan, and Chris Manning. Fans are encouraged to join in on the conversation by using the hashtag #2KRatings, where they voice their approval or disapproval of their favorite NBA players overall rating in the game. Fresh off the release of Netherralm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 11 , Warner Bros. will be working with producer James Wan ( Aquaman)  to bring Earthrealm’s heroes against the forces of Outworld to life once more. News of the announcement came from ABC Australia reporter Claire Campbell, who tweeted that filming will take place in South Australia and it will be “the largest movie ever filmed and produced” in the region. Premier of South Australia, Steven Marshall, also confirmed the news of the film reboot in the area, which will be in pre-production later this month. Rumors about the movie date as far back as last year, with a Hashtag Show report discovering details on the reboot’s plot. The movie will be centered around a new character named Cole Turner, who is described as “a Philadelphia boxer that is recruited by a prophecy chaser to compete in a fantastical tournament – the outcome of which determines the fate of Earth and it’s inhabitants.” Old characters and new throughout the MK lore in the initial report are expected to appear as well, including Australian favorite Kano, Sonya Blade, Liu Kang, and much more. The first Mortal Kombat film adaptation was released in 1995 and is touted as one of the greatest video game film adaptations of all time. The movie sparked character-redefining performances from Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as the sinister sorcerer Shang Tsung, and Trevor Goddard as the aforementioned mercenary Kano. The latter’s performance alone was the sole reason the character was retconned with an Australian background in later video games. Mortal Kombat attempted another reboot before this with the web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy , exclusively on YouTube. Nintendo Reveals Release Date For ‘Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order’

Source: Nintendo / Marvel Entertainment First unveiled at the Video Game Awards back in December, Nintendo shocked the world when it announced it was reviving the Ultimate Alliance franchise with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order . Today (Apr.16) we learn the game will be available on Switch this Summer. Nintendo is handling publishing for the Nintendo Switch exclusive slated for a July 19 release. The epic Marvel team up game will feature characters from Guardians of The Galaxy, The Avengers , X-Men as well as other newly announced heroes like Black Panther, Deadpool, Spider-Gwen and Doctor Strange. In the description for the game’s story, our favorite heroes are in a race against time to gather the Infinity Stones before Thanos and his loyal and deadly subjects The Black Order do. Per Nintendo: “Super Heroes unite in a race across iconic locations in the Marvel Universe to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos and The Black Order use them to unleash cosmic chaos. Up to four people can play together in local* or online** co-op, with the ability to drop in and out at any time.” Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 supports 4-player co-op play both locally and online. Co-op play is drop in and drop out allowing players to join your session without having to sacrifice your current game to create a party. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order  marks the first return of the popular team-up button mashing game in 10 years. ‘Resident Evil’ TV Series In Development, Will Be A Netflix Global Original Reportedly

Source: Capcom Resident Evil 2 currently has gamers clutching their pearls and now news of TV series based on the fan-favorite survival horror franchise has surfaced.  Deadline exclusively reports Netflix is developing a scripted series loosely based on the video game franchise “that will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus.” Constantin Film, the studio behind the highly-successful  Resident Evil film franchise helmed by Paul W.S. Anderson starring his wife Mila Jovovich as the main protagonist Alice will also be working on the show. Per Deadline: “The drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus. While the project is in the early stages, the series is expected to incorporate all of Resident Evil’s signature elements, including action sequences and “easter eggs.” No word on whether the show will be in the same universe of the movies or will starts fresh. This news also comes on the helms of a report of the studio hiring Johannes Roberts to write and direct a Resident Evil reboot with a new cast that will reportedly be based on the Resident Evil VII game taking the franchise back to its horror roots. — Photo: Capcom
