Barbz Beef With Grammys & First Ladies Keep It A Buck: This Week’s Winners & Losers

Source: Bryan Steffy / Getty Another week, another moment of soul-snatching drama and unapologetic bluntness. Celebs and fans alike told us how they really felt this week and there was no sugarcoating in sight. Peep our winners below, then hit the next page for some salty fans who had to take an L. Winners “Over it” First Ladies There’s something about leaving public office that has to be completely liberating, especially for First Ladies. Although they’re not technically elected officials, they tend to be under as much scrutiny as their president husbands. First Ladies might have their own platforms and their own audience, but in certain ways, they still have to keep up a rigid image of womanhood and marriage that’s not always realistic. But now that Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton are out of the larger political spotlight, it seems like they have zero effs to give.   Take Michelle for example. She’s currently on a book tour for her new release Becoming and she stopped by the Barclay Center in New York this past Saturday to drop some realness. According to Vanity Fair , Michelle was talking about marriage and she made a reference to the book Lean In by Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.  “Marriage still ain’t equal, y’all,” Michelle said. “It ain’t equal. I tell women that whole ‘you can have it all’—mmm, nope, not at the same time, that’s a lie. It’s not always enough to lean in because that s**t doesn’t work.” Whew! Michelle!   After the crowd laughed and applauded, the former FLOTUS continued, “I thought we were at home, y’all. I was gettin’ real comfortable up in here. Alright, I’m back now. Sometimes that  stuff  doesn’t work.” Get comfortable Michelle! GET COMFORTABLE. Released in 2013, the book Lean In hasn’t necessarily aged well over the years, especially for women of color who aren’t in the corporate world. “Leaning in” to let your presence be known as a woman in the office might not work as well in other aspects of life. When talking about marriage especially, Michelle kept things a little more funky: “People are like, ‘Oh, why’d she talk about marriage counseling?’ I’m like, ‘Duh. Marriage is hard,’ you know. It is hard . . . I love my husband, and we have a great marriage, and we’ve had a great marriage, but marriage is hard work.” Boom. Some ‘Chelly realness for you. Hillary Clinton also didn’t have time for the BS this week when she attended George H.W. Bush ‘s funeral. When 45 a.k.a. Donald Trump arrived, Hillary was NOT about to fake like she liked him. Hillary and her husband were having a GRAND time sitting next to the Obamas at the funeral. They were laughing, ki ki’ing and probably making plans for the next karaoke night. But when Trump and Melania came through, the whole mood of the church pew shifted.  The Trumps came to sit next to the Obamas and everyone pretty much shook their hand except for Hillary. Now there’s no telling what was going through Hillary’s mind at the time as it pertains to Trump, but if you watch the footage, it looks like she was completely and utterly OVER IT. Peep the facial at the 0:58 mark below…   O  V  E  R    I  T. Mrs. Clinton had zero time.

Lady Gaga Questions President Obama On Bullying

Mother Monster attended an Obama fundraiser over the weekend at home of Facebook COO. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga Photo: BuzzFoto Lady Gaga is not one to make a promise to her Little Monsters and not keep it. That explains why she raised her hand and asked President Obama a question about bullying at a Silicon Valley fundraising event for the Commander in Chief over the weekend at the home of Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg. The $38,500-per-couple event for around 70 guests took place under a tent in Sandberg’s yard and, according to ABC News , where Gaga made good on a Twitter vow she’d posted last Wednesday in reaction to the suicide of bullied teen Jamey Rodemeyer . Gaga — who turned heads in a black dress with a dramatically plunging back, extremely high heels, a blond upswept hairdo and a black veil covering the back of her hair — brought up the issue during the Q&A segment of the event. Though a transcript of the exchange is not available, according to reports, she first thanked Obama for what he’s done so far on the subject — which includes a forum held earlier this year about bullying and an “It Gets Better” video — and then read from what she described as a letter from a fan about the suicide of another Little Monster who had been bullied. After congratulating the president on all of the things he’s accomplished so far in his first term, Gaga made what was described as a “general plea” to everyone in the room, including the president, to do what they can to prevent bullying. Obama then reportedly thanked her, re-iterated his administration’s anti-bullying work and spoke in general about the importance of values. Gaga also reportedly had a bit of face time with Obama before dinner, when she walked through the photo line with her manager and spoke to the president for two minutes in a room full of other guests. The singer dedicated her song “Hair” to Rodemeyer at Saturday’s iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, speaking out in support of the gay teen who committed suicide last week after enduring years of bullying by his school peers. Just days after the 14-year-old’s death, Gaga was so shaken that she called on Obama to enact laws that would make bullying a hate crime. “The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling,” she tweeted on Wednesday. “I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone’s life.” She went further, posting Rodemeyer’s “It Gets Better” video, and insisting that bullying “must become illegal. It is a hate crime.” It was then that she revealed she planned to meet with Obama to discuss the matter. Steve Wozniak Speaks on Steve Jobs Resignation, Apple Future

Steve Wozniak says his fellow Apple co-founder Steve Jobs needs to relax. In the wake of Jobs stepping down as CEO of the company they both founded, the Woz said, “Steve needs now to just have some ‘Steve time’ … He deserves it.” Why? Not just because of his physical health problems, but mentally. “[Jobs] really has had to sacrifice a lot to run Apple … I mean, just your time, everybody wants you day and night, that’s what I mean by sacrifices.” “He has given his all. It takes so much out of anyone to be under just constant pressure and demands like that,” Wozniak said of his fellow mogul. As to the future of Apple, Wozniak is optimistic: “Remember, [Jobs] was surrounded by great, great people at Apple … those people are still there.” It’s true. Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook, who will take over as Apple CEO, has effectively run the company since Jobs’ medical leave in January. Short story: The iPad 3 and iPhone 5 are gonna be so awesome.
