Gene Wilder Passes Away At The Age 83 Comedic star Gene Wilder has passed away at the age of 83 according to Variety reports: Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show in such comedic gems as “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and “Stir Crazy,” died Monday at his home in Stamford, Conn. His nephew Jordan Walker-Pearlman said he died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 83. His nephew said in a statement, “We understand for all the emotional and physical challenges this situation presented we have been among the lucky ones — this illness-pirate, unlike in so many cases, never stole his ability to recognize those that were closest to him, nor took command of his central-gentle-life affirming core personality. The decision to wait until this time to disclose his condition wasn’t vanity, but more so that the countless young children that would smile or call out to him “there’s Willy Wonka,” would not have to be then exposed to an adult referencing illness or trouble and causing delight to travel to worry, disappointment or confusion. He simply couldn’t bear the idea of one less smile in the world. He continued to enjoy art, music, and kissing with his leading lady of the last twenty-five years, Karen. He danced down a church aisle at a wedding as parent of the groom and ring bearer, held countless afternoon movie western marathons and delighted in the the company of beloved ones.” He had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1989. Publicly Criticized Radio Host Over Rumor About His Cancelled Show ATL Rapper T.I. recently had a few choice words fo r a Washington, D.C. radio host who entertained a story from a fan about why his recent show in the Chocolate City was cancelled. The story, as told by WKYS radio host Brittany Waters of “Tonight’s Tea With Britt” , goes as follows: During my show, #ItsBrittShow on 93.9 WKYS in DC. I have a segment called Tonight’s Tea With Britt where I let my listners call in and tell me about their night. I had a caller tell me she attended T.I.’s show at The Howard Theatre and she saw one of his hypemen on stage have a seizure which canceled the performance. Brittany later took to her Instagram page with a brief blurb about the fan’s story…. ….and she received this surprising…and public…response from the Troubleman himself once he got wind of it all: Sheesh! Fabolous Escapes Queens Highway Truck Accident With Minor Injuries Brooklyn-born rapper Fabolous had a close call this morning when his Escalade ran into a tracktor trailer on a highway in Queens early Wednesday morning. Via NY Daily News : Rapper Fabolous walked away nearly unscathed after his black Cadillac Escalade collided with a truck on a Queens highway early Wednesday morning, he said on social media. “I just survived a car accident on the Van Wyck in Queens, NY,” he told his 4 million followers on Instagram and Twitter. “It’s a very shocking experience & may change my outlook on how fast things can happen & you’re put into a life threatening situation,” he added. The Brooklyn-native hip-hop star — born John Jackson but who calls himself “Loso” — said he suffered minor injuries during the 7 a.m. crash. It was the 36-year-old “You Be Killin’ Em” singer’s first car accident, he said. It was unclear which driver had the right-of-way. It was also unclear if the accident would interfere with his scheduled performance at La Marina in Inwood Saturday.
