Is Kelis Trying To Migrate Her Milkshake & Nas’ Son To A Farm In Cartagena, Colombia?

Source: Patrick McMullan / Getty Nas Claims Kelis Is Trying To Relocate Their Son To Colombia Kelis seems to have plans of becoming a Colombian farmer, but Nas isn’t about to let that milkshake move too far if he can help it. According to a new report, the “Bossy” singer didn’t provide proper travel notice so the move might be a violation of her child custody agreement with the Queens rapper. From TMZ : “Nas is pissed off about a bunch of child custody issues — the biggest being Kelis’ plans to hightail to Cartagena. According to docs, obtained by TMZ, Kelis already took 9-year-old  Knight  to Colombia last month. Nas says he was supposed to get their son on New Year’s Eve … but Kelis texted him to say the plan had changed. He says she didn’t come back to the states until Jan. 14.” It seems she’s already been making moves on the low, low… “Further, he says Kelis has told him she and her new husband have a farm in Colombia and she intends to stay there. Nas says she’s already withdrawn Knight from his private school in L.A. … and he says Kelis is currently homeschooling the kid in Colombia.” Hopefully, they’ll be able to work this out for their son’s sake. In the meantime, Nas is making headlines after he reportedly signed a $340 million deal with Viacom to purchase Pluto TV. Catch up on that here . Continue reading

Tweets On Fyre: Ja Rule Sounds Off Against Struggle Music Festival Docs, Someone Take His Phone

See the original post:

Source: Patrick McMullan / Getty Over the weekend, the talk of the internet was two documentaries that highlighted the epic struggle that was Fyre Festival . One of the many people involved in the scam was rapper Ja Rule who can be seen in both docs excited about the festival that never was. He recently broke his silence, blasting both documentaries on Twitter. Y’all want it to be me sooo bad it’s crazy… kinda sad!!! the crazy shit is I’m watching the docs in awe myself… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 Should have just said nothing at all. 50 Cent’s favorite punching bag Jeffrey Atkins tried to Tweet through the slander coming his way and failed miserably. Rule believes that both docs unfairly levied the blame on him for the disaster that was Fyre Fest and said “I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers,” days after Hulu’s Fyre Fraud and Netflix’s Fyre documentaries dropped. I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 He then followed that up by defending himself by ridiculously stating he had an “amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!!” and adding “I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???” I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make??? — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 While both documentaries detail how disastrous Fyre Festival was, The Ringer pointed out that both docs have some eye-opening issues. Hulu paid convicted fraudster Billy McFarland, and an undisclosed amount of money for an on-camera interview and Netflix’s doc was co-produced by Jerry Media better known as the Fuck Jerry group who helped market the festival. Ja Rule wasted no time shifting any blame thrown his way and directed it towards his former business partner stating he has “receipts, “pointed out those issues with the docs and made himself to look like a victim as well stating he lost “plenty” of money. Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should’ve went to the Bahamian ppl Netflix PAID fuck Jerry the same guys that did the promo for the festival… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!! — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 PLENTY… https://t.co/Pb5tOW3ueL — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 Through all the mess, Twitter did finally put enough pressure on the Queens rapper to apologize to Bahamian native and restaurant owner MaryAnne Rolle who was screwed over by the festival. My heart goes out to this lovely lady… MaryAnne Rolle we’ve never met but I’m devastated that something that was meant to be amazing, turn out to be such a disaster and hurt so many… https://t.co/16ld7ePlvQ — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 21, 2019 Since the release of the docs, she has managed to raise $144,735 through her own campaign and exceeded her goal $123,000. Speaking with TMZ exclusively she still feels Ja Rule should pony up $100k and we definitely agree he should pay her if he is indeed genuinely sorry. — Photo: Patrick McMullan / Getty

Jam Master Jay Murder Conspiracy Theories Linger 16 Years After Studio Killing

T he murder of one of hip-hops most iconic deejays may have been officially declared a cold case, but the reason why he was killed is still hotly debated among fans. Jam Master Jay , who handled turntable duties for Hall of Fame rap trio Run-DMC , was killed in his Queens, New York City, studio 16 years ago today. The case remains unsolved. READ MORE: Top 5 Unsolved Hip-Hop Murders “It’s not resolved to the legal eye, but the street always talks,” Jay’s friend, Jeremy “JL” Lam,  told the Associated Press . The New York Times wondered whether Jay, born Jason Mizell, was killed over a bad business deal or a music industry feud, two things that have gotten rappers assaulted or killed in the past. Jay, who was in debt when he died, may have been killed over owed money, Time wrote . Rapper 50 Cent , who was a protégé of Jay, was rumored to have factored, but not necessarily blamed, in the killing, too. At the time, 50 Cent, who survived his own ambush by gunmen, was about to release his debut album that had lyrics chock full of aggressive posturing. ”One of the theories is that somebody was trying to get back at 50 Cent by taking out Mizell,” an anonymous police source told the New York Times. Police have long had a hard time with solving the murders in hip-hop. The killings of rapping icons 2Pac and the Notorious B.I.G. in the late 90s have also been declared cold cases, as the code of the streets have seemingly prevented any witnesses from stepping forward. Jay’s family suspects the same is true this time around. “We know it’s the anniversary but we don’t like to talk about it much anymore,” Jay’s older sister, Bonita Jones, told the AP last year. Rest in peace, Jam Master Jay. Tracy Chapman Sues Nicki Minaj For Unauthorized Sample

Source: Stephanie Methven / WENN Tracy Chapman wasn’t that hard to find after all. The “Fast Car” singer is suing Nicki Minaj for using an unauthorized sample. Reportedly, Minaj’s people did reach out to Chapman for permission to use her song “Baby Can I Hold You” for the Queens rapper’s tune “Sorry,” featuring Nas. However, Chapman basically said, “Nah.” TMZ reports that Minaj’s reps reached out in June 2018 with multiple requests to license “Baby Can I Hold You,” which were all denied. In early August, Minaj even pinned her new album’s delay on trying to find Chapman. But then Nicki Minaj’s “Sorry,” which got nixed from the Queen album, made its way onto the radio, with Funkmaster Flex playing it on Hot 97 and The Breakfast Club also giving it a spin on Power 105. The song’s radio play, which led to the Internets grabbing the tune and reposting it online, is referenced in Chapman’s lawsuit, which seeks an order prohibiting Minaj from ever releasing the song as well as financial compensation. Looks and sounds like Chapman has Minaj dead to rights on this one. — Photo: WENN.com
