It’s been two weeks since the music world was stunned by the sudden death of Chris Cornell , the pioneering singer/songwriter whose inimitable vocal stylings helped Soundgarden and Audioslave rise to the top of the charts. Just hours after his body was found, medical examiners in Wayne County, Michigan ruled Cornell’s death a suicide . Cornell’s widow, Vicky Karayiannis, and others close to the musician expressed doubts about the coroner’s findings. Karayiannis maintained that drugs played a role in Cornell’s death , a theory that shocked fans, as the singer had been sober for nearly 15 years prior to hsi passing. Nevertheless, Karyiannis issued a statement expressing her belief that the results of a pending toxicology report would corroborate her beliefs. Today, TMZ obtained the results of that report , and it seems that Karayiannis was correct in her assertion that Cornell was under the influence at the time of his passing. The coroner who examined Cornell’s body confirmed that the following drugs were found in his system: Naloxone (Narcan), Butalbital (sedative), Lorazepam (Ativan), Pseudoephedrine (decongestant), and unspecified barbiturates. Witnesses claimed to have seen puncture marks on Cornell’s arms, but it appears those were the result of Narcan injections made by paramedics in an effort to save the 52-year-old’s life. Shortly after her husband’s death, Karayiannis stated that she knew Cornell was intoxicated just from speaking with him on the phone. She asked the singer’s bodyguard, who was staying in the same Detroit hotel, to check on Cornell, but tragically, it was too late. An apparently drug-addled Cornell had hung himself in his room with an exercise belt. Karayiannis issued the following statement in response to today’s findings: “Many of us who know Chris well, noticed that he wasn’t himself during his final hours and that something was very off. We have learned from this report that several substances were found in his system. “After so many years of sobriety, this moment of terrible judgment seems to have completely impaired and altered his state of mind. “Something clearly went terribly wrong and my children and I are heartbroken and are devastated that this moment can never be taken back.” She concluded: “We very much appreciate all of the love we have received during this extremely difficult time and are dedicated to helping others in preventing this type of tragedy.” Our thoughts go out to Cornell’s widow and children during this tremendously difficult time. Starlet Says Singer Is Threatening Her Karrueche is nowhere near through with her fight to keep her ex-lover Chris Brown as far away from her as possible. Although other media outlets reported earlier this week that Karrueche “lost” at a hearing on her restraining order against the “Beautiful” singer, BOSSIP has learned that the hearing was merely a technicality where Chris’s lawyer asked for more time on the case because Chris says Karrueche never served him with the court papers. Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, went one step further and asked for the case’s dismissal because Karrueche wasn’t there. But in fact, Karrueche was in New Orleans shooting a movie – but was available by phone, a source close to the Karrueche told BOSSIP. Chris also wasn’t present for the hearing. In the end, the judge ruled that Chris could have more time before the trial starts because of the alleged lack of service, even though a source told us that Karrueche’s legal team have Chris getting served on tape. The “Claws” actress is now set to testify against her alleged abuser in court June 15 during an evidentiary hearing. The judge will also hear from other witnesses, and possibly from Chris himself. “She wanted him to stop threatening her and sending people to threaten her,” the source said. “She has been doing really well on set. We’re just trying to get this chapter closed so she can move on.”
Katherine Berman, the wife of legendary ESPN commentator Chris Berman, has been killed in a car accident near the couple’s home in Connecticut. According to police reports, Katherine’s car slammed into another vehicle, killing both drivers. The cause of the crash is still unknown. Witnesses say Berman’s 2003 Lexus struck the back of a Ford Escape, causing her to veer off the road and into a body of water, where her vehicle promptly overturned. The other driver, an 87-year-old man named Edward Bertulis, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died moments later. The crash reportedly took place around 2:15 pm on Tuesday in the town of Woodbury. According to TMS Chris Berman was attending a Giants vs. Mets game at Citi Field at the time. He was informed of the crash by NYPD officers . Chris and Katherine have been married since 1983 and have two children together. Details are scarce at present, but moments ago, ESPN President John Skipper publicly offered his condolences to the Berman family: “This is a devastating tragedy and difficult to comprehend,” Skipper said in a statement. “Chris is beloved by all his ESPN colleagues and for good reason: he has a huge heart and has given so much to so many over the years. We know how much his family means to him and all we can do at a moment like this is to give him the love and support he will surely need at this hour.” He concluded: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris, Meredith, Doug and the entire family.” For decades, Berman has been one of ESPN’s most beloved personalities. Kailyn Lowry and her ex-husband Javi Marroquin may be on better terms lately, but like everything with them, this is subject to change. Whenever cooler heads prevail and the drama wanes, an unforeseen event exerts pressure on the ex-couple’s non-aggression pact. Like the rest of us, the Teen Mom 2 dad had plenty of thoughts when that photo of Kailyn in bed with another man hit Snapchat Sunday. Mistakenly, many believed the guy – whose face was obscured in some of the images – was none other than baby daddy-to-be Chris Lopez. Not the case. While Lowry is pregnant with Lopez’s child , he was not the man in this picture; Kailyn’s friend DJ was the shirtless culprit. The mother of Isaac, 7, and Lincoln, 3, received backlash for the pic, and it’s easy to see why; Javi wasn’t a fan, that’s for damn sure. Marroquin, who is the father of Lincoln and was married to Kailyn for three years, tweeted as soon as the photo surfaced, “I’m disgusted.” “It’s just sad. It makes me sad for the boys.” Not wanting to further fan the flames of this feud waiting to happen, Javi decided to leave well enough alone at that point, telling Radar : “I have nothing else to say about her.” Lowry’s baby daddy Lopez, meanwhile, took to Twitter to make sure fans know he’s not the man in the photo … and take a shot at Kail. Don’t judge me.” Too late for that, by about six or seven years. People watch Teen Mom 2 online and therefore know just about all there is to know about Kailyn’s life, a choice she has been complicit in. Yes, she’s entitled to privacy, as we all are, but Lowry shills, promotes, pitches and hustles her a– off to make a living off of her fame. More power to her, but craving attention one minute and then feigning indignation the next when people criticize you stretches credibility. As for Lopez (above), he remains an enigma. Most dudes who have been in a Teen Mom cast member are also interested in fame. Not Chris, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But if he wants nothing to do with Kailyn, or his child, yet feels compelled to criticize her life choices? That’s nothing to be proud of, bruh.
