Nancy Dow, Mother of Jennifer Aniston, Suffers Stroke

Jennifer Aniston’s mother, Nancy Dow, has suffered a serious stroke. The actress, 42, visited her ailing mother, 75, at an L.A.-area hospital on Friday. At her side for the ordeal was live-in boyfriend, Justin Theroux . “Justin has been very supportive and there with her all the way,” a source tells Us , adding that clearly, “It’s a very hard time for her right now.” Aniston’s rep said only that “this is a private family matter.” Fans of the star may recall that she and Dow were estranged for a decade after Dow spoke out about their relationship in a 1996 interview and wrote about Aniston in a book, From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir . They have since reconciled. Here’s wishing both the best … [Photo: WENN.com]

Casey Anthony Parents: Divided Over Her Guilt

George and Cindy Anthony are split over the innocence (or lack thereof) of their estranged daughter Casey Anthony, according to Dr. Phil McGraw. “[George] is very critical,” the TV psychologist said, while Cindy makes excuses for her daughter at every opportunity and lives in a state of denial. Neither of Casey’s parents have spoken to the 25-year-old since she was stunningly acquitted of murdering toddler Cayley Anthony back in July. In an interview airing today and tomorrow, the Anthonys are speaking out on the death of their granddaughter and the public trial that followed. Casey’s defense lawyers claimed Caylee drowned accidentally and George tried to hide the child’s body, having molested Casey as a child no less. Both deny anything of the sort, but at the same time, Dr. Phil said Cindy and George “have a different view [of whether Casey murdered Caylee].” “They question themselves every minute of every day,” McGraw said. “What did we fail to see here? What could we have done differently?” He adds that “Their position is up until [Casey’s] pregnancy, she was showing reasonably normal behavior and then it began to change.” We’ll post video of Dr. Phil’s interview with the Anthonys when it becomes available. It’s still unclear what their angle is in all of this. Your take: Casey Anthony is totally …

Heidi Montag Dishes on Famous Food Strategy, Other Nonsense

Heidi Montag makes her much- dreaded -anticipated return to moronic reality TV this evening on VH1’s Z-list restaurant extravaganza Famous Food . For the first time in her “career,” Spencer Pratt will not be joining her. In an interview with TV Guide , the plastic princess opens up about going solo, her strategies for winning the Famous Food top prize and more … Heidi Montag says these days are behind her . On what drew her to Food: I wanted to do a reality show about something I was really passionate about. I grew up in the restaurant industry. I’ve worked in restaurants since I was 13 up until I was 18. So I’ve been waiting all year to do this show, and it’s been a really exciting adventure. I was really excited and passionate about the opportunity to be a potential owner of a restaurant and to compete with several other celebrities. On whether Spencer was asked to join : No, that was never an option. On what Spencer’s up to lately : Ummm, not much! On lessons learned from I’m a Celebrity…: Um, stay in the game! (laughs) That is the No. 1 lesson I learned. And also, to just deal with people. I’m not big into fighting and drama, so I just tried to stay away from these crazy celebrities when they get like that. I stayed very clear from it. There were some really crazy moments, and I’m thankful I had nothing to do with them. I didn’t know if we’d even be able to keep filming. On the Heidi Montag plastic surgery debacle : I’d really rather not talk about it because it has nothing to with this show or my life anymore. On bonding with Danielle Staub : Actually, I kind of asked both her and [Ashley Dupre] to get some wine because it was just the girls. It wasn’t me needing to just be friends with Danielle alone. I pretty much like everyone on the show. I wanted to get along with everyone. On her game plan : I tried to stay as neutral as I could. That wasn’t what it was about for me. I didn’t want to go there and make all this drama. I’m there to really open a restaurant and fulfill my dreams. Also, it’s such a time limit — we only have 28 days to open this huge restaurant. I’m really focused on the end game, not all the preschool drama. On the tough aspects : No one gets eliminated, and that made it harder because everyone wants it until the very end. It brings so much more chaos. But the hardest part was just agreeing. Everyone thinks it’s their restaurant but we have to work individually to stand out as a potential owner. Originally, you wanted to call the restaurant Fame. What is it about being a celebrity that both you and Spencer seem to be so obsessed with? You guys wrote a book about it and there was even a fake divorce… On her other career pursuits : As of right now, it’s day by day. Famous Food is what I have been really waiting for and it’s what I’ve focused on. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]

Casey Anthony, Parents, Lawyers & Jurors: Death Threats Galore!

The Casey Anthony trial still has people fired up, and the people who factored into the accused killer’s acquittal are now feeling the public’s wrath. Someone is threatening to kill the 25-year-old, her attorneys, and the jurors who found Anthony not guilty of murdering her daughter this week. According to Casey’s attorney Cheney Mason, his team has received ” all kinds of threats ” at his office since the controversial verdict came in. Specifics are scarce, but the threats have been plentiful, including one credible enough that “we just turned it over to law enforcement.” There are reports Casey’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony (both of whom were key witnesses at Casey’s trial) are also being targeted. George and Cindy are said to have gone into hiding since the jury’s ruling cleared Casey, though this has not been independently confirmed. For his part, Mason doesn’t seem worried, at least for now. He laughed off the threats, claiming the people behind them are “cowards.” Did the jury get it right?

Casey Anthony Deemed Competent to Stand Trial

The Casey Anthony trial resumed this morning after a judge ruled that the 25-year-old accused murderer from Orlando is competent to stand trial. The trial was abruptly put on hold over the weekend after the judge said a “legal matter” had come up. That matter was Anthony’s mental state. Defense lawyers filed a motion to determine her competency to proceed, and after three psychologists found her competent , the trial goes on. Casey, who is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony, in 2008, has pleaded not guilty. She faces the death penalty if convicted. Prosecutors allege Anthony killed her daughter by using chloroform and suffocating her with duct tape, then leaving her lifeless body in the woods. Casey Anthony’s defense hinges on the theory that Caylee accidentally drowned, that Anthony and her father, George, covered up the accident. George’s prior sexual abuse of Casey when she was a child factored into this poor judgment, her lawyers have posited, to much controversy. Caylee’s remains were found in December 2008, almost six months after she was reported missing, in a wooded area not far from her home. On Friday, Casey’s attorneys showed jurors photos of Caylee climbing a ladder into a pool as her grandmother, Cindy Anthony , supported her. Cindy testified that Caylee could’ve climbed into the pool herself , and also said that she, not Casey, searched for several suspicious terms online.

Caylee Anthony#39;s mother, Cindy Anthony, seemed to agree with the car crash theory. “Caylee#39;s father was in a terrible car accident,” she told us in 2008. “He is deceased.” Jesus Ortiz was a 21-year-old who had dated Casey before he died in 2007. After he was publicly named as Caylee#39;s possible father, Ortiz#39;s family was stunned. “Miss Anthony never told the family Jesus was the father or that he might be the father,” they said in a statement. “In fact, the family has never met her
