Amanda Bynes, threatened with eviction by her landlord for breaking rules and being disrespectful toward others, packed up and left her NYC apartment last week. According to reports, Bynes got a letter from management in January explaining that her lease would be terminated (presumably February 1, when she left). Reason: She’s a pothead. Management made the decision to evict following complaints of marijuana smoke emanating from Amanda Bynes ‘ apartment “morning, noon and night.” Sources say she was also seen smoking weed in the halls. It’s a non-smoking building, like most New York structures. She’s kind of a big a fan of the herb, it would appear. In any case, TMZ reports that Amanda wasn’t going to wait and challenge management’s decision and decided to simply find somewhere else to live. It’s unclear where the 26-year-old plans to go next, but departing this spot is a done deal. Trucks were seen packing up and moving her stuff on outta there. Anybody need a roommate?
Cissy Houston has been making the media rounds over the past few days, sharing memories of her late daughter and promoting her book, “Remember Whitney.” But there’s at least one person who won’t be reading this revealing biography: the late’s singer’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. “Anything concerning my grandmother’s book, I and @nickgordon of course personally have nothing to with,” the teenager has Tweeted to her nearly 120,000 followers, adding: “I haven’t read and won’t… I find it to be disrespectful to my mother and me being her daughter won’t tolerate it.” What do you think of Cissy penning this book? Cissy Houston and Mariah Carey were at the forefront of an emotional tribute to Whitney Houston at last night’s BET Awards . The latter kicked off the 19-minute event, recalling stories about Whitney – who tragically overdosed and died in February – and told the audience: “I miss my friend. I miss hearing her voice and laughter.” Monica and Brandy also took to the stage, singing multiple Whitney hits, while former Waiting to Exhale co-stars Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon and Loretta Devine honored their late friend. But it was Cissy who brought tears to the eyes of all in attendance. She sang a version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and A-listers such as Beyonce and Soulja Boy were caught on camera crying. ‘The Houston Family Chronicles,’ which will feature Bobbi Kristina Brown and Cissy Houston, premieres on Lifetime later this year. Titled “The Houston Family Chronicles,” the show will feature Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, and mother Cissy Houston, though the focus will be on “The Bodyguard” superstar’s brother Gary Houston and sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, as well as their daughter, Rayah. Houston’s cousin Dionne Warwick and Bobbie Kristina’s godmother, gospel legend CeCe Winans, will also appear in the series. According to Lifetime, the reality show will focus on Pat and Gary “as they take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her mother.” Whitney Houston died on February 11 of this year at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The L.A. County coroner ruled that accidental drowning was the official cause of Houston’s death, adding that cocaine use and heart disease were contributing factors. The report indicated traces of cocaine were found in Houston’s system at the time of death along with Xanax, Flexeril, marijuana and Benadryl, though officials said these substances played no role in her untimely passing. “The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family,” Rob Sharenow, executive vice president of programming at Lifetime Networks, said in a statement. “In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love, and grow.” Lifetime has ordered 10 hour-long episodes of “The Houston Family Chronicles” and will premiere the show at a yet-undetermined time later this year. According to Pat Houston, the show had been in the works well before Whitney’s death. “I have been working with Simmons-Shelley [production company] over the past few years developing a project suitable for myself and our family,” Pat Houston said. “The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show. She recently told an interviewer she would love to play Whitney on the big screen. But Whitney’s mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, 78, fumed when she heard Rihanna was gunning for the role. “Over my dead body!” declared the pop star granny, according to a source. “Cissy believes Rihanna celebrates everything she hated about Whitney’s life – the drugging, the boozing, the abusive relationship,” the source continued. A version of the 911 tape of George Zimmerman reporting suspicious behavior by Trayvon Martin before killing him was edited, NBC admitted this week. It wasn’t doctored – his words were left intact – but it’s what we didn’t hear that sheds light on the ultimately fatal Martin-Zimmerman confrontation. On March 27, NBC’s Today Show aired Zimmerman’s call to the police, featuring these words: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good … he looks black.” The recording went viral, no doubt shaping public bias against Zimmerman .
