Do You Have Some F.U. Money Saved Up?

Chances are if you’re in a long-term relationship, about to jump the broom, or already have, some woman has advised you, if you and your partner have a joint account, to make sure you put a little money aside for yourself. Tyra Banks calls this F.U. money and it’s the need for women in relationships to still have their own exit strategy, i.e. cash flow, that prompts Tyra to employ so many young women. The “America’s Next Top Model” creator and entrepreneur explained this motive to Glamour, saying: “My mom stayed with my dad for too long because of financial reasons. If she’d just had a little side hustle, a little of her own money, she would have left. So I encourage women to have what I call ‘F.U.’ money.… A lot of my passion for this business comes from that…” [ MadameNoire ] Sex Once A Week Keeps Married Couples Happy? According to Forbes, a new study published in the journal of Social Psychological and Personality Science—that was one of the largest to explore the correlation between sex and happiness—suggests that one is the magical number when it comes to how often happily married couples are getting busy in a 7-day span. Researchers poured over responses submitted by 11,000 men and 14,000 men who participated in the General Social Survey between 1989 and 2012. What they found was that most established couples are doing the horizontal mambo once a week, and they’re satisfied. Additionally results suggest that adding a night or two of sex didn’t boost happiness… [ MadameNoire ] Portraits Of Black Professors At Harvard Law Covered In Black Tape The portraits of all the Black professors at Harvard Law were covered with black tape just a day after students rallied and marched on campus in support of Black student activists around the country. Reports Think Progress: Photos taken by Harvard PhD candidate Clint Smith show the portraits of tenured African American law professors, which are displayed in the law school’s main building, marked by black slashes of tape across their faces. Leland Shelton, the president of the Black Law Students Association, told ThinkProgress that he viewed the incident as a hostile action. It “wasn’t done by an ally. It wasn’t in support of black students and black professors,” Shelton said…Reportedly, some of the backlash is due to calls from Black law students to remove the family crest of of Isaac Royall Jr., a noted slaveowner, from the school’s seal. President Obama Assures Veteran: I Am NOT the Lead Singer From Korn!

On Wednesday, the nation celebrated Veterans Day , and numerous public figures took time to thank the men and women of America's armed forces for their service. Yesterday, as part of the White House's week-long tribute to our nation's troops, President Obama presented Army Captain Florent Groberg with the Medal of Honor – and dropped a bombshell that's certain to shake the world of American politics to its foundation. In his speech, Obama shared the following account of the first time he met Groberg: ” He woke up on a hospital bed in a little bit of a haze. He wasn’t sure, but he thought that he was in Germany, and someone was at his bedside talking to him And he thought that it was the lead singer from the heavy metal band Korn. “Flo thought, 'What’s going on? Am I hallucinating?' But he wasn’t, it was all real…And so, today, Flo, I want to assure you that you are not hallucinating. You are actually in the White House, those cameras are on, I am not the lead singer from Korn .” Obviously, this statement is outrageous for a number of reasons. For one thing, President Obama (if that is your real name), it was your duty to inform the American people that you're not the lead singer of Korn before we twice elected you to the highest office in the land! What if those votes were based on your innovative vocal stylings on “Freak On a Leash”? Also, Korn was really more of a rap-rock outfit than a “heavy metal band.” It's an important distinction, because – as indicated by the correlation between the release of Ben Carson's hip hop track and his rise in popularity – the American people want a president who can spit bars , son. Frankly, we don't know what to believe anymore. All this time, Donald Trump's been calling for Obama's birth certificate , when all we really needed to do was take note of the President's conspicuous lack of gold records and shiny Adidas track suits to know we'd been had.

Sheryl Crow’s Brain Tumor: A Neurosurgeon Weighs In

Dr. Alessandro Olivi tells MTV News the diagnosis shouldn’t change Crow’s lifestyle: ‘She can still sing!’ By Kara Warner Photo: Bryan Steffy/Getty Images Despite the severity of the news that Sheryl Crow has been diagnosed with a brain tumor , the good news is that the type of tumor, a meningioma, is non-cancerous. MTV News caught up with Dr. Alessandro Olivi, a professor of neurosurgery and director of the Meningioma Center at Johns Hopkins University, who spoke very positively about Crow’s prognosis. “If they elected to observe it [and not perform surgery], that means the tumor is an incidental finding and considered, like it is in the majority of these cases, biologically favorable,” Olivi said. “It’s benign and doesn’t need to come out, because it’s not causing any problems and can be monitored safely.” Olivi, who also serves as the vice chairmen of the department of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, went on to say that doctors don’t yet know what specifically causes the tumors, just that they tend to occur in women and that estrogen might play a role. “We don’t know what causes them. We know that there is preponderance in women over men. Some people have said it’s related to estrogen. There might be some receptor, but not to the point where I would say to change hormone treatment,” he said. “For example, with menopause, you produce less estrogen and people are on hormone replacement. I don’t consider that a reason not to do it. In other words, the correlation [between estrogen and meningioma] is loose. We don’t know in reality what the cause is. The good thing is that in the vast majority, they are self-limiting, and the biological behavior is not one of an aggressive cancer.” Speaking to how the tumor will affect Crow’s day-to-day lifestyle moving forward, Olivi said she’ll likely only need routine checkups. “She just needs to do what she is told as far as monitoring and imaging, which will probably be once every six months if everything is OK and can be moved up to once a year,” he said. “But no change in lifestyle; she can still sing!” Related Artists Sheryl Crow

Common, Nas Make ‘Ghetto Dreams’ Come True In New Video

The two lyrical MCs fantasize about a cocoa-skinned beauty in ‘Boyz N the Hood’-inspired video. By Rob Markman Common Photo: Arnold Turner/ WireImage Ghetto dreams do come true. On Thursday, Common dropped the video for his Nas-assisted single “Ghetto Dreams” and, apparently, when the rappers go to sleep at night, it’s video actress Bria Myles who prances around their black-and-white subconscious. The Matt Alonzo-helmed visual starts with both rappers sitting on a couch nodding off while watching the 1991 classic “Boyz N the Hood” on T.V. The scene playing on the screen is the one in which Chris (played by Regi Green) tells Doughboy (Ice Cube) that church is the best place to pick up women. “I give y’all a hint,” Chris says, “Everybody’s been there.” Then the No I.D. beat drops and the dream sequence begins with Myles emerging from bed wearing a tank top and a pair of derriere-revealing gym shorts. Both MCs are now sitting on a grimy staircase, where Common begins to rap the lyrics to the first single off of his upcoming The Dreamer, The Believer album: “I want a bitch that look good and cook good.’ The chocolate-skinned beauty acts out the song’s lyrics, flipping pancakes in the kitchen, smoking a marijuana-filled joint and counting her money as Common’s verse progresses, calling out each action. “I wrote it about someone in the neighborhood that got a dream of reaching a higher level and they’re in that process,” Com recently told MTV News. “Their woman is really like the correlation and the parallel and the symbol to that progress. It was coming from me, but it was also the voice of many others.” In the video, Nas shares a similar affection for the kind of multifaceted girl Common describes in the song. As the Queens MC’s verse rolls in, he sits on the same staircase, dressed in a jacket, white shirt and tie, spitting his verse. “Had explicit experiences I shouldn’t mention/ For me, getting women turned from sport to addiction,” Nas raps, as Alonzo cuts back and forth between performance scenes and Myles applying makeup as she gets ready to attend a Sunday service — or so the viewer is led to believe. By the time the beat fades out, the dream is over. It’s at this point that the two MCs give each other a look that seems to say they realize that although they may be fantasizing over the perfect love, in the end, they’re just two dudes on a couch. Warner Bros sues over Harry "Popper" condom…

IT'S not every movie star who has a condom named after them. But Daniel Radcliffe's Harry Potter has become a brand of condom in Switzerland and Warner Bros is not happy. The Swiss condom brand “Harry Popper” is reportedly being sued for copyright infringement by the studio. Gawker.com details the hubbub with a broken-English quote from the Swiss newspaper Bote: “For Warner Bros. is obvious: The sorcerer Harry Potter have a 'very positive image.' Condoms have no business there. Especially not now. According to Warner Bros. in November to plan the launch of the new Potter movie. Also a new video game is in preparation. The lawyer for Warner Bros. bluntly: 'The image of my client is in danger.' There is no denying the correlation between the latex protectors and the popular wizard movie. If the name didn't do it for you, the illustration of a condom swinging a wand and wearing round-frame glasses will. added by: eden49
