Ryan Edwards Freed From Prison… Now What?!?

Free at last, free at last, Ryan Edwards is free at last. The former Teen Mom OG star was let go from jail on Monday, April 15, following a three-month stint that followed yet another drug-related arrest for the father of two. He is still facing a charge of theft and heroin possession and may end up behind bars at some point in the future if convicted… … but. for now, Maci Bookout's ex (and Mackenzie Standifer's husband) is back at home with his family. For the sake of his children, we really hope he remains there. Scroll down to get caught up on what landed Edwards in prison and where he might go from here: 1. I’m Out! Edwards was sentenced to spend three months behind bars after his arrest in December because he was related to an outstanding warrant. To be clear, this punishment was NOT a conviction. He may still stand trial and may still be sentenced to prison for his actual alleged crimes. 2. So This is Just Temporary? Yes, possibly. Tennessee’s Hamilton County Court confirmed to the public on Monday that the former Teen Mom star is no longer in custody. 3. What Were Those Alleged Crimes? Police took Edwards to Hamilton County Jail in Chattanooga in January for “theft of services under $1,000” from a December incident in which he reportedlt left a restaurant without paying is $36 bar tab. 4. That Sounds Very Petty Well, it was still an illegal act if it occurred. Moreover, Edwards was also booked for a heroin possession charge stemming from an outstanding warrant. So that’s the big one here. 5. On a Personal Level? That $36 charge was for six whiskey drinks — and Edwards has battled drinking and drug use over the years, so the situation just on the surface makes it clear things were not going well for Ryan. 6. He Has a Long History Edwards has struggled with addiction and drug dependency for many years. He was arrested for driving under the influence while on his way to his wedding to Mackenzie Standifer, 22, in May 2017. Yes, ON HIS WAY TO HIS WEDDING. View Slideshow

Regina Hall and Issa Rae Get Real About Little and Life | Extra Butter

Read the original post:

If the movies 13 going on 30 , BIG and Freaky Friday were combined together the end result would be LITTLE . Marsai Martin stars in and executive produces Universal Pictures’ LITTLE , a comedy directed by Tina Gordon who also directed Peeples and ATL, that is produced by Will Packer the man who brought you smash hits like Girls Trip, Ride Along, and Think Like a Man franchise. The film tells a story of a woman named Jordan played by Regina Hall, who is a cut throat-stickler of a boss to her tech-savvy assistant, April played by Issa Rae. Jordan terrorizes her employees daily until a magical wish turns grown-up Jordan into a kid again, played by Marsai Martin. Imagine waking up as your 13-year-old self again, what would you do?. We sat down with Issa Rae and said if Little Issa could give big Issa advice she would tell her “I would tell her to have more fun, we wanted this, what are you stressing for? Why are you doing this much work? Where’s the play at and I’d listen to her too”. LITTLE is humorous and heartwarming as we watch the mean CEO learn her life lessons. The character Jordan must face her past of middle school, accepting her true self and making real friends. Regina Hall shared some of her life reflections saying, “Life doesn’t give you what you want, you should never think “I should have”, that just makes you miserable; It’s more than just being gracious, there‘s a lot of existences that go on in the world and I think we just get spoiled, or what we are entitled to. There is always something to be grateful for”. Halls performance was witty and fun to watch, her strong attitude carried the character of Jordan throughout the entire film. Issa Rae and Marsai Martin have an undeniable on-camera connection that made the comedic moments click right on time. Martin not only pitched this film but also drew inspiration from one of her favorite films BIG starring Tom Hanks. If you look deeper into the movie you will see where the uplifting messages arise. We spoke with Regina Hall and Issa Rae about uplifting each other in a work setting, black competition, creating opportunities, staying true to you regardless of outside circumstances, Black girl magic and more. LITTLE will give you feel good laughs from beginning to end. Don’t miss it in theatres this Friday, April 12th .

Missing Link: Zach Galifianakis & Zoe Saldana Talk Self-Acceptance, Working With Others & More

Stop-motion animation was once thought to be a dying genre, but Laika studios new film Missing Link is breathing new life into the film style. Missing Link tells the story of Sir Lionel Frost, “who sets off on an adventure to the Pacific Northwest to prove the existence of a legendary creature—Mr. Link. Frost, who’s also looking to gain acceptance by his small-minded explorer peers, is accompanied on his journey by Adelina Fortnight, a free-spirited, independent adventurer who just so happens to possess the only known map to their secret destination of trying to find Link.” Zach Galifianakis stars as Mr. Link, the Bigfoot Sasquatch in search of his relatives and Zoe Saldana voices Adelina Fortnight, the free-spirited traveler who, along with Sir Lionel Frost, helps Mr. Link find his people. On this episode of Extra Butter, I spoke with the Zach and Zoe about some of the underlying themes of the film, including acceptance, fitting in, and being told to “stick with your own kind.” Is it best to stick with your own, or can you grow from experiencing other people and different things? Zach told us: I think [experiencing other people and things] is the best way to go about it. We’re supposed to be living here with each other. We’re all from different walks of life. One should never feel like one is better than the other. In North Carolina, there was a cabin that was built eons ago, and the reason it’s still erecting is because the Germans and the Brits worked on it together. When different ideas come and work together, it’s mathematical. It’s only better. Zoe added: I think you have to [stick with your own] for a certain amount of time, in order for you to learn about your heritage, your history, who you were — even those before you, who they were. But as soon as that happens, to journey outside of your comfort zones is crucial in order for you to grow knowledge, experience. But also to gain compassion about everything that is different outside of yourself, because you have to nurture curiosity.   Some may be surprised to find out that someone as beautiful as Ms. Saldana use to have a problem fitting in. I feel like school was the most difficult time in my life. Having to go back to the same place that causes so much stress in you because of the projections. Everybody is just projecting. And kids tend to be really mean through their innocence. The lack of knowledge and the lack of experience sometimes compels you to be a really heartless person.  Fortunately, the actress never let the childhood drama stop her from becoming a box office phenom. See what else Zach and Zoe had to say in the video above. Catch Missing Link when it hits theaters this Friday, April 12th.

Source: Jason “Jah” Lee / Bossip/Jason “Jah” Lee AT&T Celebrates Atlanta Culture, History, And Influencers On 404 Day Atlanta gathered at Ravine night club last night for an AT&T sponsored activation called “404 Day” that celebrated the culture of Atlanta with some of the city’s most revered and influential residents. The esteemed guests included Atlanta mayor Keisha Bottoms, as well as 21 Savage’s manager Kei Henderson, tech entrepreneur Paul Judge, QC head honcho Kevin “Coach K” Lee, and rapper/activist/businessman Killer Mike. In addition, the crowd was also treated to performances by local talent like Beyoncé’s shining stars Chole x Halle, Gunna, and 2 Chainz. Mayor Bottoms spoke to a loud and proud crowd about the possibilities that exist in Atlanta that perhaps don’t exist elsewhere. Coach K took the mic and preached a Peachtree sermon about how influential Atlanta is to the rest of the world and ways to further bolster the city’s profile. 2 Chainz took a moment to honor Nipsey Hussle before he went on with his set. Then he gave the people what they came to see. We were beyond impressed with the thought and care that AT&T took in making sure that Atlanta was presented in a positive and uplifting light. ‘Twas a great night with stellar activations, photo booths, and interactive exhibits that rep the 404.

DNA Proves Boy Claiming to Be Timmothy Pitzen is an Imposter

In 2011, the family of a young Timmothy Pitzen had their hearts broken when the little boy went missing after his mother was found dead. This week, the news reported that a frightened, injured teenager begged strangers for help, identifying himself as Pitzen. Hopes ran high that a broken family would be reunited. But now, those hopes have been dashed. Timmothy Pitzen was just six years old when, security tapes reveal, his mother pulled him out of school one day. Further surveillance evidence showed her taking him on a road trip that included water parks. For days, Amy Fry-Pitzen took her son on this unexplained outing while the entire family worried for her and for Timmothy. It has been speculated that Amy was afraid that, because of her history of mental illness, she would lose Timmothy if she and husband Jim divorced. Unfortunately, this outing took an especially tragic turn. On May 13, 2011, Timmothy was last seen alive as his mother checked them out of the Kalahari resort in Wisconsin. That night, after sundown, Amy was recorded shopping for groceries in Illinois. She was, at that time, alone. Hours later, she checked herself into a hotel. A housekeeper found her the next day, dead. According to police, Amy had self-inflicted cuts on her wrists and even her throat, and her body contained a lethal cocktail of drugs. Her alleged suicide note begins with a warning: “You will never find him.” The note additionally promised that he was in the care of others who would protect him. That is … unimaginably heartbreaking for everyone involved. Timmothy's disappearance remains a mystery — and a cold case — to this day. But on Wednesday, the world took notice after a young man claiming to be Timmothy Pitzen appeared in Kentucky. He asked passersby for help. He had been running and there were visible injuries on his face. The young man described where he had been held, and claimed that he had been held captive for seven years. The Pitzen family was cautious, but hopes were running high. On Thursday evening, FBI Louisville tweeted some grim news. “DNA results have been returned,” the tweet reads. “Indicating the person in question is not Timmothy Pitzen.” People had braced themselves for that news, but most had guessed that he was a teen who had suffered greatly and wanted a home to which to flee. (That's not okay, but we can understand why a child who has been traumatized might want to “reunite” with a loving home they've never experienced) But according to multiple reports, the alleged 14-year-old claiming to be Timmothy was not even a teenager. Apparently, his name is Brian Michael Rini. He is a native of Ohio and has a troubling history of legal problems and of mental health issues. Also, the guy is 23 entire years old. While we're sure that he did not make this claim about his identity lightly, this has put the Pitzen family through hell. However, there is a silver lining to this heartbreak. People are once again discussing the Pitzen case. Both the family and law enforcement experts say that new conversations about cold cases can prompt new leads.

It wasn’t a few seconds before Rock stepped up to the mic and delivered his first shot at the embattled Empire actor. In Rock’s defense, it was quite hilarious and a great way to kick off the show. “They said no Jussie Smollett jokes. Yeah, I know. I know. What a waste of light skin. You know what I could do with that light skin? That curly hair? My career would be out of here. F—ing running Hollywood,” Rock said. “What the hell was he thinking?” the comedian added. “You’re Jessie from now on. You don’t even get the ‘u’ no more. That ‘u’ was respect. Jay looked dapper in a classic blue suit as he stared at his Image Award, delivering his acceptance speech. Keeping everyone on edge, Jay used a quote from our “very humble and kind-hearted president.” But it’s not the president you’re thinking of. He took it back to Abe Lincoln. “It’s not the amount of years in your life, it’s about the life in your years that count in the end.” “Thank you to the NAACP for allowing me to forward this so she can put this on her mantle next to her favorite grandson. And when she’s, like, sneaking pork, and, like, her legs swell up, she can remember how much of a G she is.” Beyonce Thanks Regina King In Her Acceptance Speech Beyonce May have won the Image Award for “Entertainer Of The Year,” but she used her acceptance speech to thank her fellow nominees. “Regina King, I love you so much. You taught us patience, persistence, and how to be masterful in your craft,” she said dressed in a stunning white Balmain gown straight off the runway. “Chadwick Boseman is teaching children to dream and to see themselves as kings. LeBron James has taught us strength of all forms in leading by example and providing education for our kids. Ryan Coogler tells our story in a way that celebrates our history and proved that we do have power at the box office, and I’m honored to be included among all of you and to a part of a vital, thriving, beautiful community.
