United Airlines Earns Ire of Twitter for THIS Company Policy

WARNING : The following story is likely to make your blood boil. Shannon Watts – a mother of five from Colorado and founder of pro-gun control organization Moms Demand Action – shared on Twitter Sunday that young passengers getting on board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis were not allowed down the walkway unless they changed outfits. Two girls in particular, one of whom was 10 years old, were barred from boarding because they were wearing leggings. They had to actually cover up more and wait for the next flight to Minnesota. The incident has gone viral – with everyone from People Magazine to The New York Times picking it up – and United responded to Watts on Twitter by writing that they “have the right to refuse transport for passengers who are barefoot or not properly clothed.” As used in this context, that response has not sat well with many people on social media, including quite a few you've probably heard of… 1. The Opening Tweets This is how Watts alerted social media to the situation. 2. The United Response The airline checked and said the passengers in question appeared to be family members of employees and were therefore held to a high standard, per company bylaws. 3. Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth: Wedding Registry Revealed!

It’s only been a month since we learned that Joy-Anna Duggar is engaged to Austin Forsyth , but relationships move fast in Duggar Land.  Like, extremely fast. Like, hand-holding to picking out baby names in a matter of weeks fast. It’s strange, but we guess it’s to be expected of kids who are forbidden to engage in just about any type of physical contact before their wedding night. And the word “kid” definitely applies to Joy-Anna, who just turned 19 in October. But apparently Joy-Anna’s age belies a stern practicality, as reflected in her no-frills wedding registry. The wish list – posted to TheKnot.com and obtained by Radar Online – features such items as a $55 wet-dry vacuum, a belt sander, a jigsaw, a toolkit, and a table saw. Either these two are planning some major DIY projects, or they’re hoping to get into some seriously weird stuff in the bedroom. But it won’t be all woodwoking and cleaning up after yourself in the Forsyth household. No, these two are planning to hit the town. Hard. And when we say “hard,” we mean they’re gonna enjoy themselves some free cheddar bay biscuits. Yes, Joy-Anna and Austin also requested gift cards to Panera, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. The Cracker Barrel choice says “traditional Arkansan couple,” but Panera screams “look out, y’all! Couple of wild Millennials here! One of us might just mess around and develop a gluten intolerance or vote for a very conservative Democrat!” But in case you were concerned that these two are getting a little big for their britches, fear not: The registry also includes requests for linens, towels, and tableware, all in plain shades of gray. You really can’t overstate how sheltered the Duggar kids are, so the phrase “shades of gray” probably doesn’t conjure the same image for Joy-Anna that it does for you. At 19, Joy-Anna is the youngest Duggar girl of her generation to be married off, and some fans have expressed concern over how quickly all of this seems to be happening. That’s fast even by Duggar standards, and naturally, it’s led to rumors that Joy-Anna and Austin violated courtship rules and are now rushing to the altar in a shotgun-type situation. Cory Booker Asks Out Mindy Kaling!!!!!

Major political news has taken the nation by storm. The Republican Party was forced to pull the plug on the American Health Care Act Friday after lacking enough votes to clear the House floor, forcing Paul Ryan and Donald Trump to admit that Obamacare will remain the law of the land. What? Huh? No. Well… yes. That happened. But it’s not the major political story we’re tracking here at The Hollywood Gossip. In a far more important breaking development, United States Senator Cory Booker has asked comedic actress Mindy Kaling out on a date! It all started when the New Jersey native playfully chided Kaling’s alter ego – Dr. Mindy Lahiri on Hulu’s The Mindy Project – for poking fun at his hometown of Newark on her series. “I guess anything to get out of Newark, huh?” the character joked in a recent episode about Booker’s attendance at a party. In response, the outspoken and good-humored politician quoted the scene on Twitter and wrote “Ouch!” He also linked to a Vogue article that referenced an infusion of new restaurants in the area that offer “a fusion of American comfort food with an Indian twist.” As you can see below, Booker wasn’t too angry over the snub, writing that he still loves Kaling. Kaling, who portrays an obstetrician on the sitcom and who rose to fame on The Office, took note of Booker’s flirtation and responded as follows: “Senator, if Mindy Lahiri shades it, it means we know it’s cool. Thanks for the [love]. It’s mutual!” From there, BOOKER ASKED KALING OUT ON A DATE! “You are making my day!” gushed the 47-year old single senator, adding: “Thanks for the clarification. And If the [love] is really mutual… Come have dinner with me in Newark?” Clearly smitten, Kaling said yes, saying she had to go find the “train schedule” so she could make her way from New York City to New Jersey. Adding to the incredibleness of this entire exchange, the official Twitter account for the train that takes folks from The Big Apple to its neighboring state (known as the PATH train) proceeded to get involved: “PATH train is awesome when you are Jersey bound,” Booker Tweeted to Kaling. “But you are @Lyft worthy! I will send one to you for the door to door.” There’s nothing about this story that isn’t completely awesome and amazing. Tragically, we’re left hanging at the moment because Kaling has not responded to Booker’s Lyft offer. But she has to accept, right? Booker is considered a strong candidate to run for President in 2020. And with Donald Trump’s approval ratings at historically low levels, you would think the Democratic nominee ought to have a real shot at winning the White House in a few years. This means there’s a chance that Mindy Kaling could be First Lady. A good chance? Probably not. But there really is a chance. And that’s a lot more than we could have said about the situation just a few hours ago.

Robert Valletta and Scheana Shay: We’re Instagram Official!

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage? Maybe in 1983. These days, it’s more like: First comes a dating rumor, then comes a few vague hints from those involved, then comes anonymous source confirmation and then comes the first social media photo of the new couple. Isn’t that right, Robert Valletta and Scheana Shay? The Vanderpump Rules star and her rebound from her failed marriage to Mike Shay went public on Wednesday night, making their romance Instagram official via the cozy picture above. Posing alongside the little known actor, Shay captioned this image with a single blue heart emoji, confirming that things are progressing very well between the two. Valletta also posted a photo of the pair from the same evening on the red carpet, as they attended this film premiere with Shay’s Vanderpump Rules costars Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix. Check it out below: “She wasn’t expecting to meet somebody new so soon; she certainly wasn’t looking for it,” an insider told People Magazine last month of Shay, who divorced husband Mike in November. This source added: “She’s taking things slow, but is finally optimistic on what the future might hold.” Scheana and Mike called it quits on their marriage last fall after two years as husband and wife. Those who would watch Vanderpump Rules online on a regular basis were well aware that the couple had its share of issues. Mike battled an addiction to painkillers for quite some time, actually going missing for several days not long before  Scheana filed for divorce . At the time, the estranged reality stars released a statement that made it sound as if this would be an amicable break-up. “While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship,” they wrote, adding: “Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters. HOWEVER: A trailer for the upcoming Vanderpump Rules three-part reunion, which debuts on April 3, features Shay alleging that her former husband cheated on her, claiming that she “caught him texting another girl.” That trailer came out around the same time as Shay releasing this picture of her and Robert Valletta. Hmmm… coincidence? Or it Shay trying to stir some $hit up between herself and Mike? It feels like a very long time since the two sliced into some wedding cake and exchanged vows, doesn’t it? Says another source to People: “Scheana spent the past year putting all of her energy into her marriage, neglecting her own needs. “In Scheana’s previous relationship she carried the weight, in regards to finances and responsibility. “It’s refreshing to see her with somebody who matches her own ambition and work ethic.” Sort of hard to wonder if this anonymous source isn’t a certain Vanderpump Rules cast member who recently got divorced and who just made her romance Instagram official. Scandal Shocker: Who May Be Dead?!?

By the lofty, suspenseful, bat $hit crazy and awesome standards set by Shonda Rhimes, Scandal Season 6 has been somewhat of a disappointment. Up until last night, the first half of this latest run could mostly be summed up by one sentence: Rowan killed Frankie Vargas. Aside from that development, nothing has really stood out on what has long been considered the most twisty and turny show on television. But then the final minute of Scandal Season 6 Episode 7 aired. And our jaws have remained on the floor ever since, having dropped completely at the hour’s stunning conclusion. As the build up to this cliffhanger, we witnessed Huck get close to Phoebe Neidhart’s Meg, the friend of Jennifer Fields, who was just revealed last week to still be alive. Meg demanded answers about her friend’s supposed death, specifically pushing for Olivia to assist her and asking all kinds of questions about the heroine of Huck. Following some hot and heavy floor sex, Huck attempted to shut this problem down by introducing Meg to Jennifer Fields, who, of course, isn’t actually dead. Problem solved, right? It appears to be when Jennifer seemed psyched to see her friend… until Meg took out a gun and shot her in the chest. From there, the episode leaped ahead to Meg having a sit-down with Abby in a park. “Is it done?” Abby asked, as viewers wondered whether she could truly be the traitor. After hearing the confirmation of Jennifer’s murder, Abby went ahead and really made us gasp with her follow-up and inquiry: “And Huck?” Ummm…. WHAT?!? Huh? Say it isn’t so, Abby! Please! The action then cut back to that hotel room Jennifer had been hiding out in, with Meg turning her weapon on Huck and shooting him directly in the chest. Numerous times.  “Don’t worry, Ms. Wheelan. He’ll have no idea you were part of this,” Meg told Abby at the park. Is that because Huck is dead? For real? It wouldn’t shock us is the character was wearing a bulletproof vest, but it also wouldn’t totally shock us if he’s gone forever. It’s been awhile since Scandal featured a major death. Huck, of course, was on a mission from Olivia to kill her dad and learned in the process that Rowan was told to kill Frankie by someone who threatened a person close to him. Moreover, this same individual had planted a mole by Olivia’s side who possessed the power to “say the word, and she’s dead.” Could this really be Abby? The series clearly wants us to believe it is right now. Farrah Abraham, Kendra Wilkinson Flip Out on Their Moms in Marriage Boot Camp Trailer!

Marriage Boot Camp has officially reached the point in its run where producers have decided to completely 86 the premise and just become that show where reality stars scream obscenities at each other, regardless of the nature of their relationship. Fortunately, they picked some of the most bonkers reality stars in the business, so we're not complaining. Farrah Abraham, Kendra Wilkinson, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson all apparently has serious beefs with their families, and they've confusingly come to the Marriage Boot Camp house to work things out. Yes, it's Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition, aka Marriage Boot Camp: Let's Be Honest, We Weren't Fixing Any Marriages Anyway. We figured the show had peaked with Tara Reid's drunken antics last year, but it turns out you can always ramp up the crazy by simply adding Farrah to the mix. “You're a stupid, dumb bitch,” Farrah yells at Debra Danielsen during one particularly therapeutic scene. The Farrah-Debra relationship has always been a toxic one, but the upside of that is they can usually be counted on to be the most batsh-t reality stars on any show about batsh-t reality stars. This time, however, it looks like Kendra and Patti may be able to give them a run for their money. “No mother wants their mother to be a whore,” Kendra's mother tells her in a scene that reminds us we're watching a serious show about serious therapy. Eh, who are we kidding? We can make fun of this show til the cows come home, but with a cast like that, we'll be front and center to watch the fireworks on April 28. Britney Spears Sex Tape: Actually on the Way?!

While many of her contemporaries have starred in homemade skin flicks, Britney Spears managed to avoid the sex tape craze of the late ’00s. (Brit showed an awful lot of bare flesh when she shaved her head , but that was an art film, not a porn, thankyouverymuch .) These days, Britney has a lucrative Vegas residency keeping her at home, and she’s living a life of (relatively) quiet domestic contentment. Her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James are 11 and 10 (!) and their mom, who turned 35 in December, largely keeps things on the DL. Thanks to the Internet, however, our wild days aren’t nearly as far behind us as we’d like to think. And the pop princess had some WILD days. According to celebrity gossip site Radar Online, a Britney Spears sex tape is currently being shopped around by an anonymous seller. This long-awaited footage, which Radar claims to have viewed and decided not to publish, reportedly shows Britney Spears fully nude.  And smoking a joint and “gyrating on top of a secret lover.” Smoking a joint while having sex? Really? We’re assuming this is bogus, but then again, at the height of her “f–k you, dad and Disney!” phase, it wouldn’t have been that outlandish. Not surprisingly, the website’s sources say Spears “is horrified this is happening to her after everything that she’s been through.” “She’s totally mortified and not coping well at all,” adds one insider, noting that the pop icon’s reputation is actually a big concern to her. Though her legacy seems pretty well cemented at this point, Britney reportedly fears that the emergence of a sex tape could undo it. Will this undo all that she’s worked for? “Every time she thinks she’s finally put the past to bed, something comes back to haunt her,” the Spears insider tells Radar . “A seedy sex tape is more than she can handle right now.” We like to picture a harried Brit setting down a bag of groceries, instructing her kids to wash up for dinner, then looking at her phone and being all like: “Dammit, not a seedy sex tape! Not today!” But in all seriousness, we can imagine her frustration, given the time that’s passed since she went off the rails and recovered so well. Britney is currently dating Sam Ashgari , and friends say she feels she’s finally found the contentment and stability she sought for so long. Excuse the pun, but since her teen years, life has been Chaotic . So much so, that last month, a god-awful Lifetime biopic  Britney Ever After  was released, chronicling her infamous dark period. The film even claimed the singer made a sex tape at the height of her fame, but like a Twitter-addicted president, no one took it seriously. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day though. Just saying. The fact that the dumbest biopic ever hacked up might soon be proven factually accurate could be the worst part of this whole thing. Javi Marroquin Defends Madison Channing Walls: She’s NOT a Drug Addict!

Earlier this week, the world learned that Kailyn Lowry’s ex-husband, Javi Marroquin is dating Madison Channing Walls . MTV fans didn’t have to do much digging with regard to Walls’ past, as the 26-year-old starred on MTV’s Real World: Skeletons, an iteration of the long-running reality series that mined its cast past secrets for drama. In Madison’s case, producers didn’t have to delve very deep into her past to uncover some deeply troubling trauma. Walls struggled with heroin addiction not long before being cast on Skeletons. Her addiction led her down a dark path toward to petty crime, resulting in an arrest for larceny in 2013. These days, Walls is clean, sober, and a mother to a 1-year-old daughter, but it’s not hard to see how her recent struggles might be a matter of concern for Lowry, who shares a 3-year-old son with Marroquin. Javi has already been heavily criticized for his behavior on the most recent season of Teen Mom 2 (most notably when he entered Lowry’s house without permission), so it’s not surprising that fans have taken him to task for his decision to get involved with Walls. But Javi is standing by his woman and encouraging fans to examine their own pasts before taking shots at others. “Someone’s past isn’t who they are today if they’ve learned and become better,” Javi tweeted today in defense of Walls. The remark may have been partially prompted by reports that Lowry is upset with Marroquin for dating Walls. Marroquin’s words were met with both support and further derision from TM2 fans. Obviously there’s no way of knowing what the future holds for Javi and Chelsea, but those closest to the 26-year-old mother of one say they have no reason to fear a relapse. Speaking of her addiction on The Real World, Walls remarked: “I’m a recovering heroin addict. I am scarred for life from it. I just feel grateful to be alive.” She’s stated that she considers the process of getting clean a transformative one, and that she believes she’s a different person from when she first got involved with heroin. Walls’ friends and family say that she’s fully devoted to being the best mother that she can be and has no intention of letting anything prevent her from achieveing that goal.
