The CW has unveiled the first extended trailer for The Originals Season 2 – and the footage makes it clear that the First Family of New Orleans will be facing more trouble than ever. Hayley is on the bloody war path. Klaus is battling with Mikael. Rebekah is telling a freaky bedtime story to Hayley. And the entire group is trying to pretend as if the little girl is dead. “We talked a lot about the sins of the past coming back to haunt us in the present,” teased executive producer Michael Narducci, while Julie Plec adds: “Our heroes are dealing with the return of their monstrous parents and what it means to them.” It means A LOT of danger. The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Preview: Unveiled at Comic-Con!

The first footage from The Vampire Diaries Season 5 was revealed at the end of a long series retrospective today at the show’s Comic-Con panel. In San Diego, TVD’s “big three” and executive producer Julie Plec teased a number of new developments, along with our first look at the new season. One featuring Paul Wesley (Stefan), now in full Silas mode: The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Preview The closing moments of the series-summarizing montage show the ancient, mysterious, supernatural being addressing a crowd of captivated townsfolk. Talking about the blood he’s consumed and his upcoming plans for the residents, Silas/Stefan will clearly be in rare form when we return to Mystic Falls. Also, it looks like Damon and Elena kiss. So there’s that. TVD Season 5 premieres October 10 on the CW.

The Vampire Diaries Trio Covers EW, Nearly Shuts Down Twitter

Forgive us for ripping off a previous CW marketing campaign, but: OMFG . There really is no alternate reaction to the trio of covers Entertainment Weekly just released in honor of The Vampire Diaries , specifically stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. All three are featured across the main cover and two collector’s items, and nary a shirt is to be seen… Copies of the issue go on sale Friday, while inside producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson dish on the challenge of writing for a show with dueling, passionate fan bases. “When we want Stefan and Elena to have a moment together, how can we do that and not have our Delena fans outraged?” Plec asks . We’ve got an idea, Julie: just take Damon’s shirt off. That will satisfy all viewers.
