Diane O’Meara Identified as Fake Manti Te’o Girlfriend, Furious at Ronaiah Tuiasosopo

Unbeknownst to her, Diane O’Meara played a critical role in the Manti Te’o girlfriend hoax. O’Meara, a 23-year old marketing executive in Los Angeles, appeared on The Today Show this morning and confirmed her photo was the one used – without her knowledge – in creating Lennay Kekua . The photograph (below) was taken off her Facebook page by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo and passed off as Kekua to Te’o. O’Meara adds that Tuiasosopo called to admit his role in the scheme and apologize for it the day this bizarre story broke. “I don’t think there’s anything he could say to me that would fix this,” said O’Meara. O’Meara went to high school in California with Tuiasosopo, but emphasizes that the pair is not close. He has not spoken out since this scandal hit, but may do so this week. Te’o, meanwhile, will give his first on-camera interview to Katie Couric Thursday.

Katie Couric Admits: I Was Bulimic

Katie Couric makes a major, stunning admission on her talk show today: The former CBS Evening News anchor struggled with an eating disorder as a teenager. In an taped interview that will air across the country this afternoon, Couric sits down with Demi Lovato – whose troubled past is well-documented – and admits that she can relate to all Lovato has gone through. “I wrestled with bulimia all through college and for two years after that,” Couric tells her audience. “And I know this rigidity, this feeling that if you eat one thing that’s wrong, you’re full of self-loathing and then you punish yourself, whether it’s one cookie or a stick of gum that isn’t sugarless, that I would sometimes beat myself up for that.” Lovato, of course, spent weeks in rehab toward the end of 2010, later admitting to an eating disorder, along with other body and self-confidence images. During the segment, she says her problems began all the way back when she was three years old. “I remember being three years old in a diaper and rubbing my hand over my stomach,” Lovato says. “And I remember thinking in my head, ‘I wonder if one day this will ever be flat?’” Check your local listings to see when Katie airs in your area and tune in later today to listen to a lot more from these two strong women.

Amber Rose: Pregnant, Half-Nude on Twitter

Amber Rose is not shy. Or small, at least for the next few months! The fiance of Wiz Khalifa debuted her baby bump at the VMAs earlier this month, letting the world know she’s expecting as she clutched that thing on the red carpet. She’s revealed more in the ensuing week. Amber Rose captioned the Twitter photo below “Good morning Rosebuds & Rosestuds Our lil wizbud Is growing so fast ;-)” Here’s the expectant mom in all her half-naked glory: It’s no Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson nude in Elle, but hey, give it time. You gotta build toward it. Little Khalifa / Rose still has a ways to go up in there.

Katie Couric sexed up her talk show Monday in honor of Erika Leonard, a.k.a. Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James, and not just with sensual crimson lighting. Couric herself drew cheers when she appeared at the top of the hour in a sleeveless black leather dress and sky-high stilettos – to Rihanna’s “S&M,” obvi. “Relax – this won’t hurt at all,” the host joked, introducing herself as our “mistress” for the day … we should be so lucky. Celebrities from around the world and around every industry came together last night for Stand Up to Cancer, a telethon on every major network that was dedicated to raising money to combat this terrible disease. Among the highlights, Taylor Swift debuted the track “Ronan,” a single she wrote with Maya Thompson, whose 3-year-old son Ronan died of neuroblastoma last year. Katie Couric: Kate Middleton Too Thin, "Needs to Eat More"

Discussing her new show Katie and which celebrities she’d like to interview, Katie Couric made some surprisingly candid remarks about one in particular. “I think it would be interesting to interview Kate Middleton because she has comported herself so well since she has been thrust in the limelight,” she said. However, she added, “I think she needs to eat more because she’s so thin.” Royal sources consistently reiterate that there is no problem with Kate’s dietary habits, yet speculation and discussion about Kate’s slender frame persist. Some even think it may be at least part of the reason that the newlyweds have yet to become pregnant, despite their expressed desire to start a family . It is not clear why Couric – who was granted exclusive access to the Royals for her ABC News Special – would have made the extraordinary comments . She surely meant no harm, but the weight topic is a sensitive one to say the least at the palace, especially given Princess Diana’s battle with bulimia. Kate Middleton is not bulimic, obviously, and even seems to have put on (a little) weight in the past few weeks, though she remains naturally thin. Andy Roddick to Retire from Tennis

Andy Roddick announced this afternoon at a press conference that he will retire from professional tennis after this year’s U.S. Open, which is currently underway in New York City. Asked why he’s calling it quits, Roddick simply pointed to a gallery of Brooklyn Decker photos and reminded reporters that stepping away will allow him to spend more time with his wife. Just kidding. “It’s a matter of how I feel, and if I feel I can compete at the highest level,” he actually said of his decision. Roddick owns 32 career titles and won the U.S. Open in 2003 for his only major title. He’s currently ranked No. 22 in the world. The American star has banked $20 million in career prize money and enjoys a host of endorsements. He has also battled knee, ankle, shoulder and back injuries in recent years. And, oh, did we mention he’s married to Brooklyn Decker ? Hard to blame the guy for walking away. The 30-year old plays Bernard Tomic in the second round on Friday night at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Let’s all cheer him on during this final run.

Katie Couric Laments Ann Curry Firing

Katie Couric may have left The Today Show in 2006, but she still has some strong opinions regarding the current state of the program. Specifically, its handling of Ann Curry . And they aren’t very positive. “I felt really bad for Ann. I still don’t understand why they didn’t give her sort of a proper send-off,” Couric told Philly.com this week as part of her promotion for Katie , which premieres on September 10, adding: “Ann did some extraordinary work during her time there. It was just not the best chapter in The Today Show . It made me sad for the institution.” That’s for sure. Ratings for the program haven’t picked up and there’s reportedly even chatter that many employees want Matt Lauer gone next . The juggernaut has fallen has very hard times. Couric, though, kicks off her talk show next month and has booked Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow as her opening day guests. She says she’s inspired by Oprah, but… “When people say, ‘Are you the new Oprah?’ I say, ‘No, I’m the old Katie.'”
