The Voice Live Playoffs Recap: Team Christina FTW!!

Night two of The Voice live playoffs continued with the remaining members of Team Christina and Team Adam gearing up for easily their biggest challenge yet. Five members are left on each squad, with only three spots to be had. There are no coaches’ steals left, so The Voice is officially in America’s hands for the first time. On Monday, Team Blake and Team Pharrell gave it their all. Now it’s time for Xtina and Adam’s charges to follow suit. Let’s recap! Tonya Boyd-Cannon of Team Adam got things underway with a cover of “Take Me To The Pilot” by Elton John, and she proved why she’s still on the show. Her teammate Joshua Davis was next up, taking on “Budapest” by George Ezra, which allowed him to shine perhaps for the first time in this competition. Sonic, the one-named wonder of Team Christina, followed that up with “I’m Going Down” by Mary J. Blige, a great pick for a talented young artist. Brian Johnson was on tap after that with a spirited rendition of “At This Moment,” a performance Christina quickly lauded for its apparent effortlessness. Up next was Kimberly Nichole, singing “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, and leading Blake to say that Team Christina was wrecking Team Adam Tuesday. Lexi Davila, with her cover of “All By Myself,” did nothing to disprove Blake’s theory, delivering one of the top songs of the evening on the NBC show. India Carney followed suit with “Hurt,” Coach Xtina’s own song, which she delivered so awesomely that she earned a standing ovation for her efforts. Continuing her hot streak, Aguilera gave Rob Taylor “Earned It” by The Weeknd, which he put his original spin on and nailed for a standing O of his own. While he came out of his comfort zone a bit, Nathan Hermida’s covers of “Chains” by Nick Jonas lacked the power displayed by some of his competitors. Closing things out was Team Adam’s Deanna Johnson battled nerves and did so adequately. The tough part is that adequate may not cut it anymore. Team Christina won out over Team Adam by a wide margin, but that’s inconsequential. Three members of each team will move on to The Voice Top 12. Who do you think they should be?

Julianne Hough Has Pink Hair, Just Doesn’t Care!

Her best friend just quit The Vampire Diaries , but Julianne Hough simply doesn’t care. About her new hair color, that is. We have no doubt she’s very concerned about Nina Dobrev at the moment. But the gorgeous former Dancing with the Stars professional (and current judge) took to Instagram on Tuesday to show off a unique look, writing as a caption to her surprising image: “Pink hair don’t care! Check out my new fun hair and get @riawnacapri’s fabulous tips on becoming a ‘unicorn.'” Hough added about the pink locks pictured above: “I love to experiment with my looks by way of beauty products, styling tools and sometimes even taking things a step further –- remember last year when I chopped off all my hair? It was a big, bold move but it was so worth it! It felt liberating not to hide behind all that hair. So why did I decide on the color pink this time? Because pink is the color of kindness!” Fair enough certainly. Any color on Hough is the color of hotness, really. Kaley Cuoco has gone ahead and done it for real. A few weeks after faking a haircut on Instagram, The Big Bang Theory actress has gone ahead and chopped off many of her lovely locks. No fooling this time! In a caption that referenced stylist Christine Symonds, Cuoco posted the following picture online today and wrote simply: “Here we go! @clsymonds.” Cuoco, of course, isn’t shy about altering her appearance.  She recently admitted that getting breast implants at the age of 18 was the best decision she ever made. Katie Couric: Kate Middleton Too Thin, "Needs to Eat More"

Discussing her new show Katie and which celebrities she’d like to interview, Katie Couric made some surprisingly candid remarks about one in particular. “I think it would be interesting to interview Kate Middleton because she has comported herself so well since she has been thrust in the limelight,” she said. However, she added, “I think she needs to eat more because she’s so thin.” Royal sources consistently reiterate that there is no problem with Kate’s dietary habits, yet speculation and discussion about Kate’s slender frame persist. Some even think it may be at least part of the reason that the newlyweds have yet to become pregnant, despite their expressed desire to start a family . It is not clear why Couric – who was granted exclusive access to the Royals for her ABC News Special – would have made the extraordinary comments . She surely meant no harm, but the weight topic is a sensitive one to say the least at the palace, especially given Princess Diana’s battle with bulimia. Kate Middleton is not bulimic, obviously, and even seems to have put on (a little) weight in the past few weeks, though she remains naturally thin. Kellie Pickler Shaves Head in Support of Cancer-Stricken Friend

Now, the former American Idol singer has offered up her head for another one: breast cancer, specifically good friend Summer Holt Miller, who was diagnosed with in June, has undergone a double mastectomy and starts chemotherapy tomorrow.” “Cancer does not discriminate,” says Pickler in a statement on her Facebook page, while Miller adds: “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it.” You can watch a video documenting Kellie and Summer’s experience on the official Athena
