The Voice Recap: Did Gwen Stefani Go Too Far?

Did the coaches manage to get the people they wanted for their team of singing sensations? That was their plan on the third night of the blind auditions, but there was a lot of tension as each coach tried desperately to emerge from the auditions stage with some solid singers.  This was made difficult by the contestants who got to choose which team they joined. All of this was made possible by the coaches turning those red chairs because they liked what they heard.  Oh, and we can’t forget Gwen Stefani trying to imply the contestants can get the best of both worlds because she is boning Blake Shelton.  Let’s run down the list of people who managed to make it through the audition stage of the reality hit… Ashley Levin 23-year-old Ashley opted to sing “Let Him Fly” by Patty Griffin. It was a solid performance, but it did not impress Adam Levine. Yes, you guys, Adam did not turn his chair for this one.  That left Gwen, Alicia, and Blake to duke it out to have Ashley. Gwen felt the need to flaunt her relationship with Blake to her advantage. She reasoned that Ashley would have access to both Gwen and Blake.  Um, that’s not how it works, Gwen. In the end, Ashley chose to go with Blake.  Brandon Royal Brandon went with Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster” and it was pretty spectacular. There were a few moments that made me question whether he was for real, but he hit all of the beautiful notes you would expect of someone singing that song.  Brandon decided to go with Gwen, which was a good idea when you consider the fact you could imagine the pair performing a duet together.  Julien Martinez Julien wowed the judges with his rendition of “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughn. You could tell from his vocals that he would fit in well with Adam. As you can probably expect, Adam turned around.  It was between Adam and Blake. Julien chose Adam in the end, with Blake looking rather unimpressed that his team was still lacking in the male department.  Quizz Swanigan Quizz was one of the more different voices on the show this season, and that’s a good thing. Variety is always best and there’s nothing worse than everyone sounding the same on the show.  Quizz opted to sing “Who’s Lovin’ You” by The Jackson 5. Alicia and Gwen wanted him on their respective teams, but Quizz went with the Queen of the high note, Alicia Keys.  Casi Joy Casi went with “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes. It proved that people know LeAnn aside from her various celebrity feuds. Her voice was a delight, but she started something like a bidding war when everyone turned around to claim her.  Being a country artist, she chose to go with Blake, but not everyone was impressed with this choice, and Adam even threatened to give up because he knew it was happening.  Talk about a sore loser.  That rounds up week one of The Voice’s spring season. There is still lots of drama to come, but who will emerge as the winner? Will that winner manage to stay relevant in a saturated market? Hit the comments below! Another singer has bitten the dust on The Voice after Monday’s Top 11 performances , viewer votes and the always nail-biting Instant Save. If you missed the latest rule change, only one contestant, not two, will go home each week … until Dec. 9, when FIVE will go home at once. Who knows where they come up with these constant format tweaks or why, but it is what it is. And for one aspiring star, it was the end. For the second straight week, the elimination boiled down to a Team Gwen vs. Team Pharrell showdown, with all of Teams Blake and Adam safe. 19 Kids & Counting Season 15 Episode 11 Recap: Jill Duggar is Having a …

In a double dose of 19 Kids and Counting Tuesday night, expectant first-time parents Jill and Derick Dillard continued their preparations for the birth of #BabyDilly. Appropriate, given that after nearly 42 weeks of pregnancy, Jill Duggar gave birth to a health baby boy not even 24 hours before the episodes aired! See below for the first photos of Israel David Dillard , her first child with husband Derick. For now, let’s break down what happened on the TLC series … Watch 19 Kids and Counting Season 15 Episode 11 Online TLC kicked off the hour with 19 Kids and Counting Season 15 Episode 11 , in which a gender reveal party for Jill and Derick’s future baby was organized. The birth of Israel came just in time, too. Jill’s pregnancy dragged on so long that the newest Duggar’s name was almost given away by the reality show! Derick revealed they had the name Israel David picked out a long time ago, even if they (obviously) kept that detail out of all their Instagram updates. If the youngster were a girl, she would be going by Saleah right now. Pretty. When the Duggars welcome a new baby, an older “buddy team” is assigned to him or her so that they can bond with that child and look out for them. Baby Dilly’s buddy team: Jason, 14, Jennifer, 7, and Joy-Anna Duggar, 17. They found out the gender first, along with Jill and Derick. The rest of the family learned it via a pinata, filled with blue candies as opposed to pink. For all the things not allowed in the Duggar family , they love a good party! The sweetest part of the episode? Cathy Dillard, Derick’s mom, received the gender news from Derick’s brother, Dan, who drove 450 miles to tell her. Recovering from a cancer treatment in Omaha, Nebraska, that must have been the nicest surprise anyone could’ve given her … even if she wanted a girl. Watch 19 Kids and Counting Season 15 Episode 12 Online Later, on 19 Kids and Counting Season 15 Episode 12 , the cute couple attended a birthing class, and things got a little more serious for Jill and Derick. Jill reflected on the fact that she was 25 weeks pregnant, which is how far along Michelle Duggar was when she prematurely gave birth to Josie-Brooklyn. Michelle, of course, was in her mid-40s and had 18 kids at the time. Anything can happen, Jill’s right, but the odds of her experiencing anything similar were much slimmer. Just the same, the Dillards paid very close attention. Meanwhile, with Jessa Duggar married to Ben Seewald and out of the house, the Duggar household needed organizing … and someone to organize the Duggars. Each child has a “designation,” or set of chores they are always responsible for, and with Jessa gone, Joy-Anna Duggar was designated as the designator. That did not make her the most popular Duggar on this night. One of the Duggar boys said it best when it comes to chores, and which areas of the house are coveted: “The best jurisdiction … I don’t think there is one.” Fair point, although some options have to be less terrible than others. Poor Jeremiah got tasked with the bathrooms, for example. Think about that. There are nine of them in that big Arkansas house! Nine! Jill Duggar Baby Photos 1. The Voice Live Playoffs Recap: Team Christina FTW!!

Night two of The Voice live playoffs continued with the remaining members of Team Christina and Team Adam gearing up for easily their biggest challenge yet. Five members are left on each squad, with only three spots to be had. There are no coaches’ steals left, so The Voice is officially in America’s hands for the first time. On Monday, Team Blake and Team Pharrell gave it their all. Now it’s time for Xtina and Adam’s charges to follow suit. Let’s recap! Tonya Boyd-Cannon of Team Adam got things underway with a cover of “Take Me To The Pilot” by Elton John, and she proved why she’s still on the show. Her teammate Joshua Davis was next up, taking on “Budapest” by George Ezra, which allowed him to shine perhaps for the first time in this competition. Sonic, the one-named wonder of Team Christina, followed that up with “I’m Going Down” by Mary J. Blige, a great pick for a talented young artist. Brian Johnson was on tap after that with a spirited rendition of “At This Moment,” a performance Christina quickly lauded for its apparent effortlessness. Up next was Kimberly Nichole, singing “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, and leading Blake to say that Team Christina was wrecking Team Adam Tuesday. Lexi Davila, with her cover of “All By Myself,” did nothing to disprove Blake’s theory, delivering one of the top songs of the evening on the NBC show. India Carney followed suit with “Hurt,” Coach Xtina’s own song, which she delivered so awesomely that she earned a standing ovation for her efforts. Continuing her hot streak, Aguilera gave Rob Taylor “Earned It” by The Weeknd, which he put his original spin on and nailed for a standing O of his own. While he came out of his comfort zone a bit, Nathan Hermida’s covers of “Chains” by Nick Jonas lacked the power displayed by some of his competitors. Closing things out was Team Adam’s Deanna Johnson battled nerves and did so adequately. The tough part is that adequate may not cut it anymore. Team Christina won out over Team Adam by a wide margin, but that’s inconsequential. Three members of each team will move on to The Voice Top 12. Who do you think they should be?

The Voice Season 7 Episode 20 Recap: Who Ruled the Top 10?

The Voice Season 7 Episode 20 saw the remaining ten singers vie for America’s votes once more as this fall’s iteration of the NBC competition winds down. Only eight spots remain on tonight’s results show, so it’s crunch time. Did any of the 10 aspiring stars still standing begin to separate themselves from the field? Did any of them underachieve to the point where they’re in danger? Let’s break down all of the performances from Monday night … The Voice Season 7: Top 10 Performances 1. Craig Wayne Boyd – I Walk the Line (The Voice Top 10) Craig Wayne Boyd makes his bid for the Top 8 with a cover of Johnny Cash’s “I Walk the Line.” For the first time in the series, the teams were treated to guest mentors during a live round: Patrick Stump, Christina Aguilera, Colbie Caillat, and Diana Ross! Also legendary producer Clive Davis was on hand to assist. What could they coax out of the ten stars in training? Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake) : With a cover of Johnny Cash’s hit “Walk the Line,” he earned a standing ovation with his authenticity, talent and charisma. Matt McAndrew (Team Adam) : He took on Coldplay’s “Fix You” with an upper range that gave Gwen (and probably a few others) the chills in a big way. Anita Antoinette (Team Gwen) : Performing a reggae rendition of Passenger’s “Let Her Go,” with some Aguilera style runs, this one was a big success. Damien (Team Adam) : His take on Stevie Wonder’s “You and I,” won endless praise from Pharrell, and the crowd seemed to get totally into it as it went on. Reagan James (Team Blake) : This rendition of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” was the most unique effort of the night and one of her best this season thus far. Luke Wade (Team Pharrell) : Seeking to redeem himself on Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness,” he appeared to right the ship and then some Monday. Ryan Sill (Team Gwen) : On Muse’s “Starlight,” he took Aguilera’s advice to deviate from the original, and is among the most improved of the Top 10. Is that enough? DaNica Shirey (Team Pharrell) : Bold as it was to even attempt Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” in front of Clive Davis, she won plaudits and praise galore. Taylor John Williams (Team Gwen) : Rocking out to The Beatles’ “Come Together,” his stage presence was the main takeaway from this strong performance. Chris Jamison (Team Adam) : Singing Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” he showed strong rhythmic ability and his comfort with the entire stage. What do you think? Who among The Voice Top 10 should advance to the Top 8 on the results show tonight? Hit the comments below and let us know!

Dating Naked Season 1 Episode 10 Recap: Ashley Fonda, Alika Medeiros Get Married!

On the Dating Naked Season 1 finale, we were treated to both a wedding celebration and a de facto greatest hits episode of sorts from the VH1 show. Ashley Fonda and Alika Medeiros, having started dating naked earlier this season, are about to tie the knot, and that means a TV wedding, obviously. Naked. “Being naked in the ceremony allows the interconnectedness to flourish a lot more than when you’re clothed during the ceremony,” we’re told. Dating Naked Season 1 Finale Clip – The Wedding! Indeed, this is what happens when you go on a show called Dating Naked; Ashley Fonda and Alika Medeiros ‘ family and friends are not as impressed. There’s also some naked yoga, naked drum circling, naked spin the bottle, you get the idea. At least there is no doubt as to the theme of the program. Not everyone is living in this kind of nude utopia, however. While Marissa and Steven attend the wedding, their love seems to be crumbling, and fast. A big reason for this? Marissa seems to not like Steven much. That’ll do it. “These weird little one liners … why am I standing by you?” Marissa says. “I’m so annoyed. I feel like Steven has lost his mind right now. It’s like, ‘dude, you’re really annoying'” Steven, for his part, seems to be equally over Marissa, or getting there. “She’s nagging me. She’s correcting me. She’s trying to make me something she wants me to be … she’s like more of a mother than a girlfriend at times.” Not surprisingly, they break up toward the end But it could be worse: They could be Jessie Nizewitz , who is suing the show for an unblurred shot of her vagina and anus that made it to air, which takes Dating Naked to a new level. Or … they could be Mikey P dating Farrah Abraham . Shudder.

The Voice Season 7 Premiere Sneak Peek: Adam Levine Gets So High

Maroon 5 rocker and The Voice coach Adam Levine is straight up amped about contestant Luke Wade in a sneak peek from the Season 7 premiere of the NBC hit. So much so, he channels his inner Tom Cruise, with Wade his Katie Holmes. The Voice Season 7 Premiere Sneak Peek – Luke Wade Levine, 35, couldn’t help but get up and stand on his swiveling spaceship chair before the contestant even had a chance to hit the song’s closing notes. Safe to say that Adam hit his buzzer, along with his three other celebrity coaches. “I only wish I could be higher up!” Adam says. “I want to swing from the rafters! “I want to sing from the mountaintops!” Leave it to his BFF Blake Shelton to knock him down about 10 pegs with a classic retort: “That’s because you are high right now. Sit down and let us talk.” Gwen Stefani got in on the act, too. “These two guys on the end [Levine and Shelton], they’re kinda calling it in at this point. They’ve been doing it so long, you know,” Stefani says. “I am just so pumped up,” she adds, using her inexperience to her advantage. I’ve never done anything like this before. I’m all fresh and excited.” “I can really give you a lot of focus.” Who will he pick? Adam, Gwen, Blake, or their fourth partner in crime, Stefani’s fellow newcomer Pharrell Williams? We’ll find out come Monday night. The Voice Season 7 premieres at 8 p.m. EST!

Christina Aguilera on The Tonight Show: She’s Got The Voice (and the Best Body Ever)

Christina Aguilera stopped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno last night to discuss her return to NBC’s The Voice Season 5, kicking off next week. Her own voice, while top-tier, was playing second fiddle Wednesday, though, thanks to a Bec & Bridge black dress she wore to the set. Just. Wow. Christina Aguilera on The Tonight Show During her interview with Jay, the slimmed-down, five-time Grammy winner was asked to explain one of her quotes from the latest issue of Maxim. In the magazine, Aguilera revealed that “the one place I don’t need to be in control is in the bedroom.” Gulp. Asked to elaborate, Christina explained: “I’m a big micromanager. I’m a stickler about organization.” “Everything needs a place, a purpose… I think every woman should relax and allow herself to be pleased in the bedroom. It’s the one place I can let go.” Christina Aguilera Covers Maxim, Flaunts Slim Figure The songbird, who’s been dating production assistant Matthew Rutler for nearly three years, said she’s always been comfortable in her own skin. “I’m an artist, and expressing myself in a sexual way, no matter how that changes throughout the years, is something that has always come naturally to me.” “At this point of my life,” she added, “I’m 32 and I feel sexier than ever.” We would not disagree with that assessment whatsoever, Christina. Aguilera also opened up about the #1 man in her life, 5-year-old son, Max (with ex-husband Jordan Bratman), of whom she said, “He’s the joy of my life.”
