Bristol Palin to MTV: Stop Turning Me Into Farrah Abraham!

Bristol Palin is not here to take any responsibility. She's not here to shoulder any blame. And she certainly isn't here to apologize. Throughout her brief stint on Teen Mom OG, Palin has been at the center of more episodes than any other cast member. Makes sense, right? You don't hire the daughter of an ex-Vice Presidential candidate and then NOT feature her prominently. But Bristol has taken to Instagram in order to blast producers for her portrayal, arguing that they are making her look bad on purpose because they need her to be a controversial figure — just like the woman she replaced, Farrah Abraham. Is this accurate? Scroll down to read Palin's argument and to judge for yourself… 1. So Frustrated Bristol Palin is annoyed by the way she’s been portrayed on Teen Mom OG. She blames producers for editing footage in ways that paint her in a negative light. 2. Really, Bristol?!? The bulk of her time as a Teen Mom cast member has been spent arguing with ex-husband Dakota Meyer. Early in the season, she came across as not very understanding about his PTSD, which resulted from seeing many of his team members killed in Afghanistan. 3. What Prompted Palin’s Outburst? We can’t say for certain, but Meyer asked her on the latest episode of Teen Mom OG to call or text him when cameras were not around, accusing her of just wanting attention. 4. The Internet Has Also Turned Against Her Ratings for this season are way down and viewers don’t seem to care about Bristol’s exploits, perhaps because they dislike her mother so much. 5. What a Ditz! This is what someone wrote to MTV about Palin’s unwelcome presence on the franchise after Monday’s episode aired. 6. And This is What Bristol Wrote Back: “dumb.. if you’re going to criticize me, at least be grammatically correct.” She’s clearly very annoyed at the moment. View Slideshow

The Voice Recap: Who Made it to Finale Night?

Eight became four on Tuesday’s episode of The Voice, but there was one big question that needed to be answered:  Did Reagan Strange make it through the vote after the controversy over her not performing in last week’s sing-off? Many fans have been campaigning for Reagan to exit the series because of everything that happened.  Advanced to Finals Kirk Jay (Team Blake) Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly) Chris Kroeze (Team Blake) But who was in the bottom two? Yes, the bottom two are the unlucky ones who do not get a chance at a sing-off.  Gulp.  The unlucky two were Sarah Grace (Team Kelly) and Kymberli Joye (Team Kelly). It’s time to break down the middle three performances because only one of them would get the chance to compete in the finals.  Reagan Strange (Team Adam) – “Wherever You Will Go” Controversial contestant, Reagan floundered on Monday, and her save me performance was actually worse. Who would have thought it? The 14-year-old is simply not at the level she needs to be to be at this stage of the competition, and this is partly Adam’s fault for keeping her around longer than he should have.  MaKenzie Thomas (Team Jennifer) – “Up to the Mountain” MaKenzie should not have been in the sing-off. She should have been sent to safety at the top of the installment. Her Monday performance was solid, but she’s just not resonating with the viewers who are voting.  Kennedy Holmes (Team Jennifer), “How Do I Live?” Like Makenzie, Kennedy was another performer at the top of her game. Her performance was elegant, and she had a great stage presence.  There needs to be some changes to the way the votes are cast because this show is quickly falling apart.  In the end, MaKenzie and Reagan were eliminated, leaving Kennedy to advance to the finals.  This means Adam has no more acts left in the competition. Might have had better luck if he didn’t throw DeAndre under the bus last week? The Voice finale gets underway on Monday at 8/7c. View Slideshow: The Voice Winners: RANKED!

The Voice Recap: Did Adam Levine Make a Mistake?

Two of Adam Levine’s acts were in the bottom three on Monday night’s episode of The Voice, and it injected a nice dose of drama into things.  Reagan Strange and DeAndre Nico shared some time in the bottom three with Blake Sheldon’s Dave Fenley.  Things took an explosive turn when it was revealed that Reagan Strange was unwell and would not be able to sing for the Instant Save.  Viewers were still able to vote for her meaning that she could be sent home if she did not garner enough votes. Yes, it was a bizarre twist in the tale, but that was not the end of it.  Adam then went on to use every single moment he could to plug Reagan and get viewers to vote for her. He even went as far as doing so right after DeAndre’s performance.  “There is an unbelievably talented little girl right now who is not able to fight for her position on this show,” Adam said. “The thought of breaking her heart by not urging everyone to give this girl a shot to go and redeem herself next week would be too far beneath me.” In any case, Dave and DeAndre got to perform one last time while Reagan spent the results show backstage.  Dave went with “Amazed,” and you could tell he was rattled by being in the bottom three. As much as he tried to sing, he was nervous, and his performance was a pitchy mess.  DeAndre’s rendition of “All of Me” was not much better. He’s been in the bottom several times, and given that Adam was legit plugging Reagan at every turn, there was really no hope for him.  In the end, Deandre and Dave were eliminated, meaning Reagan got to sing another day … despite not performing in the results show.  Yikes.  Kirk Jay (Team Blake), Kennedy Holmes (Team Jennifer), MaKenzie Thomas (Team Jennifer), Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly), Sarah Grace (Team Kelly), Chris Kroeze (Team Blake and  Kymberli Joye (Team Kelly) were all sent to safety earlier in the episode.  Adam’s actions will likely stir up a lot of angst from fans, but is this the beginning of the end for Reagan? Dancing with the Stars Recap: Who the Eff is Voting for Joe?!

“Most Memorable Year” night on Dancing with the Stars gave us a lot of heartwarming stories, some great dancing, and some terrible dancing.  Oh yes, Grocery Store Joe is still terrible, but did he manage to show signs of improvement? Let’s break down the latest installment, shall we? Mary Lou Retton and Sasha Farber This compatible duo went with the Viennese Waltz to “We Are the Champions” performed by Ray Chew Live. Mary went with 1984 as her most memorable year.  That was the year she won the Olympic gold, so it was a predictable year for her to pick. But she did open up about her win not being all that solid in the lead up to it.  She had knee surgery which could have rendered her unfit to compete in the Olympics.  Her latest routine with Sasha was another solid one that allowed them to scale new heights.  Judges’ Score: 24/30 Milo Manheim and Witney Carson Milo went with 2018 as his most memorable year, and this could be attributed to him being just 17 years old. We dare say that most viewers had no clue who he was prior to his casting, so maybe he had a point.  Milo and Witney both went with another energetic performance that ticked all the boxes as far as the judges’ scores go. It was a Jive to “Can You Do This?” by Aloe Blacc.  Judges’ Scores: 27/30. Nancy McKeon and Val Chmerkovskiy It was time to dance the Rumba for this couple. Nancy went with 2006 as her most memorable year because she felt that was the year of her family.  The duo performed to “Love Someone” performed live by Lukas Graham. As has been the case for Nancy this season, there’s improvement, but she’s still nowhere near where she needs to be.  Judges’ Score: 22/30 Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten The Instagram star and the pro went with a Contemporary performance of “How to Save a Life” performed by Ray Chew Live. They danced a tribute to Alexis’ late mother who passed in 2014.  As always, it was a robust performance with Alexis showing off how flexible she is and the scores reflected it.  Judges’ Score: 26/30 Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe Evanna went with 2006 as her year of choice. That was the year she landed the role of Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter movies.  To celebrate this, she performed the Viennese Waltz to “Hedwig’s Theme” by John Williams. Evanna admitted that she had a connection to the movies through the books.  She was offered a role in the movies after becoming penpals with J.K. Rowling while suffering from an eating disorder.  This performance showed just how much she has grown as a dancer, and she has a lot left to give.  Judges’ Score: 27/30 Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson Joe went with 2018 because he said it was going to be the year he wins Dancing with the Stars!  We’re kidding, of course. He did choose 2018 but said it was because he realized he could fall in love.  His Viennese Waltz to “You Are the Reason” performed live by Calum Scott, and Leona Lewis did not help him much in the scores.  He was all over the place. Who the heck is voting for him? Judges’ Score: 18/30 Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke Juan Pablo went with the year 1999, opening up about it being the year he hot-footed it out of Buenos Aires in order to pursue his dreams of being an entertainer in Los Angeles.  We think it’s fair to say he accomplished his goal! His performance of the Samba to “Ni Ty Ni Yo” by Jennifer Lopez was visually stunning. He and Cheryl upped their game in a big way and got a perfect score in the process.  Judges’ Score: 30/30 John Schneider and Emma Slater John has been rather wooden since his debut on the series, but he’s showing some improvement. He went with the Waltz to “Smile” by Ray Chew Live.  His year of choice was 2016 because that was the year he lost his mother. The performance was lacking, but the judges recognized that he was getting better.  Judges’ Score: 21/30 Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess Another week, another Greatest Showman number. Bobby went with a Contemporary routine to “A Million Dreams” from the box office smash.  In doing so, he chose 1998 as the year for him because he graduated high school while dreaming of having a better life.  Judges Score: 23/30 Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong Tinashe went with the year 2014 because that was the year her first album was released and gave her the success she was looking for.  Her Rumba to “2 On” by none other than herself gave her and Brandon some more time to shine. They have a lot of chemistry, and it shows in their performances.  Judges’ Score: 27/30 DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold It was Argentine Tango time for DeMarcus and Lindsay. The duo danced to “Lux Aeterna” by Clint Mansell & Kronos Quarter.  But they went with the year 2016 aka the year DeMarcus winning the Super Bowl. Their performance was tight and filled with big set pieces.  Judges’ Score: 26/30 In the end, it was Nancy and Val and Tinashe and Brandon in jeopardy. Nancy and Val lost their place in the race for the mirrorball trophy.  It’s bizarre that some of the others are still in the competition, but the show is becoming more like a popularity contest these days.  What are your thoughts on the latest elimination? Dancing with the Stars continues Monday on ABC. View Slideshow: Dancing with the Stars: The Odds are Out! Who Will Win?

The Voice Recap: Who Landed a Four-Chair Turn?

The Blind Auditions were dragged out even further on Monday’s episode of The Voice.  But there was one silver lining: The first duo in years made it to the Blind Auditions, but how did the couple fare? OneUp (Team Kelly) – “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” Adam and Jerome got close to each other while shooting a music video, and decided it was time to form a duo.  The issue, however, is that their vocals did not mesh well together. They would have been wiser to audition as solo acts.  Kelly probably only took them on because it was so different to have a duo in the game. If they can dial back the confidence, they might be able to adapt.  Natalie Brady (Team Adam) – “Barracuda”   This 33-year-old Nashville singer showed up on the stage and immediately made it her own. With solid vocals and a great stage presence, she could be one to watch.  The surprising thing was that she only got two chair turns, but she could be a success story with Adam’s help.  Mike Parker (Team Jennifer) – “So Sick” Mike was quick to point out that he lost all of his scholarships because his grades were not up to scratch.  He turned to a career in construction, but he could probably carve out a career in music. His audition was solid, and we’re sure he will be a great addition to Team Jennifer.  Erika Zade (Team Kelly) –  “New Rules” Erika is the 20-year-old daughter of a rocker from Miami. She with Dua Lipa’s hit single for her audition, and let’s just say it was not what we expected.  She put her own unique spin on it, but was there anything beyond that audition that she could accomplish? We have no idea. Jarred Matthew (Team Adam) –  “Tired of Being Alone” Jarred went with an Al Green classic, and his vocals hit astronomical heights. He had a lot of confidence, not as much as OneUp, and that’s a good thing.  Out of all the performers Monday night, he is the most likely to make it further into the competition. He has the look of a superstar, so that’s a positive. It will all come down to whether his chances are ruined by horrid song choices.  Kayley Hill (Team Blake) – “Gold Dust Woman” Anybody who can tackle a Fleetwood Mac number should automatically get a four-chair turn. There, we said it.  Kayley was another solid performance, but she was a casualty of the short auditions. Maybe the producers wanted to save her best for the Batlle Rounds.  Kirk Jay (Team Blake) – “God Bless the Broken Road” This 22-year-old country singer turned in a striking performance that got the coveted four-chair turn.  He was confident and knew what was expected of him, and he set out to prove to everyone that he should be kept in the game.  In the end, he went to Team Blake, and that’s a good thing.  What are your thoughts on the latest performances?  The Voice continues Tuesday on NBC. The Voice Recap: A Diamond in the Rough

The Voice may be bringing a bit of the same after 13 seasons on the air, but Jennifer Hudson is a welcome addition to the panel. She oozes positivity, and that’s something required when coaching many hopefuls through the various stages of the process.  It was Blind Auditions Night Two, and we had some very solid performances to run down.  Who made it through to the next round? Let’s run down the performances below … Keisha Renee  “I Can’t Stop Loving You” Keisha’s song choice was on point. At this stage, it’s important to show off your vocal range, and Keisha definitely accomplished that goal.  She was confident and knew exactly what she needed to do to get to where she wanted in her career. Blake Shelton was big on her and quickly snapped her up for his team.  Maharasyi – “Tell Me Something Good” While Keisha chose the perfect song, the same could not be said for Maharasyi. You would think with her already having a recording career, she would know which song to sing to show off her singing voice. Luckily for her, Jennifer saw the potential and turned her chair around, but we can’t help but think it was a mistake.  Dylan Gerard – “Say You Won’t Let Go” Dylan did not sound great, but Jennifer helped him out and told him to change some things. This helped him sound way better, and Adam noticed this.  So, Adam got another one to join him! Red Marlow – “Swingin'” Red had a great country voice, and he had the perfect song to go along with it. We could definitely imagine him as a recording artist, and the coaches thought so.  Ultimately, he joined Team Blake.  Ashland Craft – “You Are My Sunshine” Ashland was the best singer of the night. It was perhaps one of the best auditions ever, and that was partly down to her confidence about the whole thing.  The coaches took notice, and she ultimately joined Team Miley. Miley is the best place for Ashland because we could see them dueting together.  So, that’s a wrap on Night 2, you guys. Which performers did you like best? Hit the comments below! The Voice Recap: Top 10 Hang Tough, But Who’s in Danger?

The Voice top 10 performers laid it all on the line once again Monday night, and the stakes are high, especially after the last two weeks. Obviously, every week matters when you’re facing elimination, but after The Voice results last Tuesday, it’s clear that no one is safe. It’s time to run down all of the performances from the episode.  Jesse Larson Jesse Larson’s latest performance was a cut above last week’s and boy; it was needed. Singing “Jungle Love” by The time, he made me realize just how much he deserved to be in the competition.  He made the song his own and turned in a rock-solid performance. What more could I ask for? Aliyah Moulden Aliyah went with “Jealous” by Labyrinth, and it proved that she had the vocal range to make even a quieter song sound awesome.  All season long, she’s been singing anything that she can shout at, but this showed a completely different side to her.  Vanessa Ferguson Vanessa opted to sing “Doo Wop” by Lauryn Hill, and it was a return to form for the star. There is absolutely nothing negative I could say about this number.  Mark Isaiah There was something very off about Mark’s performance tonight. He went with “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles, and it was just not all that.  The song is not a good one, and the performance suffered. I’m all for people trying to break out of their vocal range, but this was a resounding dud. Chris Blue “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars is a great song, and Chris is an excellent sing, so what could go wrong? A lot. Here’s the thing: Chris has a knack for hitting all the notes, but adding in a high-octane dance number meant his voice struggled.  Whether this will signal the end of his time in the competition is another story, but something tells me he may have screwed up.  Lilli Passero Lilli went with “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole, and it was a doozy. I’ve been critical of Lilli in the past, but she’s managed to find her groove and is not straying away from that.  More performances like this and I could Lilli on the season finale.  Lauren Duski The country singer went with “Tell Me Why” by Wynonna Judd, and it was pretty amazing. She effortlessly hit all the notes and kept the audience intrigued.  Hunter Plake Hunter went with “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood, and it was meh. It was such a shame because he’s been one of the ones to watch, but he’s tailed off over the past few weeks.  He needs to get it back together right about now because two people are leaving the process. Maybe he never got the memo.  TSoul This competitor went with “At this Moment” by Billy Vera. It was great, with several portions that sounded amazing. He knows his style, and he sticks to it.  Brennley Brown Brennley has been a frontrunner since the start of the season. Singing “Anyway” by Martina McBride definitely kept that going.  She will be in the final 8.  Who do you think should get the chop? Hit the comments below! The Voice Recap: Who Made Top 32?

Is it just us or has this season of The Voice been a drag? It’s totally understandable that NBC would want to dilute the series as much as possible because it’s such a ratings powerhouse.  You would think that having 12 episodes in the can would mean we are far into the competition. Instead, we’re whittling down the contestants with the aim of having 32 left.  It’s pretty crazy, but at least we’re in the final battle round episode of the season.  Who made the cut? We have the answers for you below! Lauryn Judd vs. Lilli Passero The two women duked it out to “Every Little Bit Hurts” by Brenda Holloway. Unsurprisingly, it’s difficult to tell which of the women would make it through.  They each have strong voices that could make anybody happy. Their harmonies were on point, so it was a little upsetting that only one of them would make it through.  That said, Lauryn did make a few mistakes, and something tells me if she turned in a consistent performance, she would still be part of the process.  Winner: Lilli Passero Jesse Larson vs. Taylor Alexander Throughout the battle rounds, people are paired up that should not be together. It seems like an easy way for the producers to meddle with the process.  Jesse and Taylor went to battle, singing “Shameless” by Billy Joel. It sounded good, but it seemed rigged to give Jesse the win.  Taylor struggled at some parts, and it became glaringly obvious when Jesse hit all the notes.  Winner: Jesse Larson Brandon Royal vs. Davina Leone This duo went with “In the Night” by The Weekend. It was a solid performance for both artists, but Brandon’s pitch was perfect.  It was not nice how Davina was practically forced to strut her stuff to win the battle. Her performance lacked something, and it just seemed forced. In the end, it was obvious Brandon was winning.  Surprisingly, Adam took Davina on to his team.  Winner: Brandon Royal Steal: Davina Leone That means the battle rounds are over, you guys! Now, it’s down to all the artists to stay in the competition. All they can do is sing for their lives. At this stage, the contestants get the pink slip from left, right, and center. What will happen? Hit the comments with who you want to make it to the end.  View Slideshow: Reality TV Star Salaries: Who Makes the Most?

The Voice Recap: Did Gwen Stefani Go Too Far?

Did the coaches manage to get the people they wanted for their team of singing sensations? That was their plan on the third night of the blind auditions, but there was a lot of tension as each coach tried desperately to emerge from the auditions stage with some solid singers.  This was made difficult by the contestants who got to choose which team they joined. All of this was made possible by the coaches turning those red chairs because they liked what they heard.  Oh, and we can’t forget Gwen Stefani trying to imply the contestants can get the best of both worlds because she is boning Blake Shelton.  Let’s run down the list of people who managed to make it through the audition stage of the reality hit… Ashley Levin 23-year-old Ashley opted to sing “Let Him Fly” by Patty Griffin. It was a solid performance, but it did not impress Adam Levine. Yes, you guys, Adam did not turn his chair for this one.  That left Gwen, Alicia, and Blake to duke it out to have Ashley. Gwen felt the need to flaunt her relationship with Blake to her advantage. She reasoned that Ashley would have access to both Gwen and Blake.  Um, that’s not how it works, Gwen. In the end, Ashley chose to go with Blake.  Brandon Royal Brandon went with Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster” and it was pretty spectacular. There were a few moments that made me question whether he was for real, but he hit all of the beautiful notes you would expect of someone singing that song.  Brandon decided to go with Gwen, which was a good idea when you consider the fact you could imagine the pair performing a duet together.  Julien Martinez Julien wowed the judges with his rendition of “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughn. You could tell from his vocals that he would fit in well with Adam. As you can probably expect, Adam turned around.  It was between Adam and Blake. Julien chose Adam in the end, with Blake looking rather unimpressed that his team was still lacking in the male department.  Quizz Swanigan Quizz was one of the more different voices on the show this season, and that’s a good thing. Variety is always best and there’s nothing worse than everyone sounding the same on the show.  Quizz opted to sing “Who’s Lovin’ You” by The Jackson 5. Alicia and Gwen wanted him on their respective teams, but Quizz went with the Queen of the high note, Alicia Keys.  Casi Joy Casi went with “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes. It proved that people know LeAnn aside from her various celebrity feuds. Her voice was a delight, but she started something like a bidding war when everyone turned around to claim her.  Being a country artist, she chose to go with Blake, but not everyone was impressed with this choice, and Adam even threatened to give up because he knew it was happening.  Talk about a sore loser.  That rounds up week one of The Voice’s spring season. There is still lots of drama to come, but who will emerge as the winner? Will that winner manage to stay relevant in a saturated market? Hit the comments below!
